We only need to keep drawing our games and those below us to win a few and we're there. Theres such a fine line between us all in the bottom half points wise so you cant surely deny that is a bit close for comfort? Not wanting to be negative or owt FWIW I think it will be a draw on Saturday anyway.

I feel our attention will swiftly turn to the drop zone rather than the top zone if we lose. Could be touching distance of it by Saturday afternoon.

Why do we field such weak reserve sides?

Oh and I do was more the Pernecky, Argent, Reeves, Saville, Oxlade-Chamberlain (Preen 70), Dunford, Dovey, Racine, Robinson, McLeans of the list that made me feel like a dunce. -

Whilst on the subject though, how do you go about getting tickets to see reserves side (if you need em) Bit of a noob (ignoramus if you'd prefer) when it comes to anything outside the first team im ashamed to say. -

I have to say, A lot of people I know never understand why I dont feel bad about "wasting" 30 quid on a ticket when we lose. I dont feel like ive dropped 30 quid down the drain when we lose, just as i didnt at the pompey game. Some people feel like they have been robbed when we lose or have an off day when we should have won. Its not about the money.... despite having a lack of it...... its about supporting the team through thick and thin. As JS describes we shouldnt behave like customers and expect a win just because weve paid the money or made the effort to follow a game. We choose to support saints. Trust in those that are actually responsible for the club.

Ive sat in Row B a couple of times this season, one of the times being when we played Norwich and connolly ran past us and scored a screamer... You do struggle to see the whole game i agree but I love being down with the players and the action. Watching Pardew shout out his orders and seeing the players react puts a whole new perspective on the game. Admittedly I probably wouldnt want to sit that low EVERY game. A tad higher it is then.

Geez. Im so naieve clearly. I know we have a massive fanbase but just thought the majority bought them as and when they want to go. Cant wait to get mine next season and meet some new chums around me near the dug out, which is my fave spot. Will be hard pushed to get a season ticket around the dug out area? One of the guys in the ticket office said he was surprised seats in row B were available at the stage I booked as so many season ticket holders around there....
-
Didnt actually realise there were that many season ticket holders! Couple of hundred at most. Not sure why I thought that.... Guess I thought the events of the last few years put people off getting them.. On the basis of of a couple of hundred season tickets it wouldnt be such a big deal if the cup games were included Was a stupid question that one though, admittedly. (Boredom does that to me.)

As per the first reply? Thanks all the same.

Cool, Thanks. Im guessing a lot of season ticket holders end up going on their own then?!?! So those stubs can be given to anyone to use if work deprives me of a visit to the fortress? :smt033

Not had a season ticket before due to an erratic work schedule but think I'll get one next season. Just have a couple of questions if someone wouldnt mind answering; Do they only cover league games? I notice that people with season tickets still had to phone up for JPT/FA tickets Do you have to pay for JPT/FA Cup tickets on top? How do you normally go about buying for someone to go with you? does the other person just phone up and hope that the seat next to yours is free as I assume you dont have to phone up to get your own tickets for the games? Are you sent your tickets or do you just use the same ticket for every game? Thanks

The game against them opened my eyes a bit to all this. I mean Ive never been a fan of the skates (The fact I think their city centre is better than ours just makes it worse) but I didnt realise just how extreme the hatred is. During the game I saw an old skate in a saints seat close to being physically attacked, a saints chav on the way to the exit throwing coins at the pompey players with force as they left the pitch (really no need for that as it could kill someone) and the level of abuse and bad language thrown at Avram Grant as he left the pitch definately made me feel uncomfortable. He looked up and applauded us but quickly put his hands down when the attack started! All quite shocking if you ask me. Rivalry, great, Animalistic violence aint' so saintly.

They wont disappear. We had all our luck last year.
-
just seen this in the Afters thread is that a good result for them if true?
-
I agree. I was actually concerned (in a round about way) for the mans health at one point. We didnt need a skate having a heart attack in our stadium afterall (may have disturbed the game ). I'm all for the passion that the great game brings but I couldnt believe the sight of veins popping out of the saints supporters heads as they yelled at him with red faces! For the first time in my life the phrase "it's only a game" entered my head...

In the draw against Norwich where Connolly Scored one of the best goals Ive seen it certainly didnt seem obvious that Norwich would win and we matched them all game. It will be tough Saturday but a defeat isnt a certainty. We've brought in some pretty swish players since then. Will Connolly be available to recreate that goal? :-) Anyway, What has happened to him??

Reminds me, I think the old pompey dude sitting in the Itchen stand must have regretted standing up and cheering when the first pompey goal went in! He and his skate mates were surrounded by saints fans screaming at them to get out! Took a while to get them out and got a big cheer when they left but the anger towards them from everyone around in the itchen was quite something!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Oh the joys of working under a PO postcode. Our water cooler service guy just came in extremely chirpy and said "yep im alright, great result at the weekend so Im ok" He then went on to start telling a joke about saints but I quickly butted in and said "I dont wanna hear it im a saints supporter..." He then openly admitted that we were all over them first half and that it was a great game.. He also agreed that he'd rather be in our position than theirs... Made me feel a bit better... (Still hate them)

There's been quite a few times if I remember rightly where pardew has played mind games. For exampl he said lallana is unlikely to play a few times and then he does so I I think it's all mind games this time around ;-) and why not if it gets results.
