  1. Just saw that Simon Rusk is a 66/1 long shot to be our next permanent manager. Those odds will dramatically shorten if the team carry on their "second half" form into the next game and we, dare I say, win 🙂
  2. Just warming up the engine...
  3. Why not Rusk until the end of the season on the basis of that second half?
  4. Moroccan relegation specialist Itsan Emer Gency please.
  5. I think having a hotter WAG helps with the PR.
  6. The oppressed and vulnerable are the British people who have to put up with illegal immigration.
  7. Jones is not to blame, he did his best, smart arse Ankersen is the one at fault.
  8. I think he will. He knows relegation is his fault, especially being captain, as much as anyone else's and he will stay to help get us back up as soon as possible. He's not in the England team anyway so his playing chances won't be affected. Of course the freekick record is a consideration but I sense he's the loyal type and genuinely loves the club. He would have left already (for Aston Villa or another club) if he didn't love Saints. So yeah, I think he'll stay.
  9. I largely agree with your analysis of our players as individuals but we're not down yet. There are 14 games left to go, not 4. Keep the faith, stranger things have happened. I for one have not given up hope on our admittedly motley crew.
  10. Agreed, Salisu would have stuck out his foot to block and clear it. And someone ought to tell Bazunu he needn't dive for every shot, if the ball is low and near, he can clear it with his foot (like Fraser Forster used to do for us).
  11. My uncle, a very successful man, used to say, "In life be clever, but not too clever by half."
  12. Why do they call him Will Smallpiece?
  13. Or the record of youngest Saints player to be sold which is probably held by Tyler Dibling (although that might not count as his sale was cancelled shortly afterwards) and the current holder is the recently departed JJ Morgan or perhaps Theo Walcott or Gareth Bale?
  14. I remember about 15 to 20 years ago, there was a lad playing for us called Harry Ball. He was literally scoring for fun and touted as a huge prospect. I wonder what happened to him, does anyone know?
  15. I don't think it helps a player's confidence if we're constantly slagging him off (although I don't think the players read this forum). We can't afford to have a chip on our shoulder over past remarks. If we're going to pull off a great escape, we need to all row the boat in the same direction.
  16. Perraud for me 😊
  17. Cellars, we're down in the cellars When you're down in the cellars, you appoint Ruben Selles
  18. I bet he can't even keep his up.
  19. Why has no one mentioned the Moroccan relegation specialist Itsan Emir Gency?
  20. We are lucky Marsch is willing to have us? Please! We have wonderful facilities, a famous academy and we are still playing in the best league in the world. Wayne Rooney, Stevie G and Frank Lampard are interested as well, in case you're not aware. And speaking of Gerrard, why should Marsch be preferred to him? Gerrard went a whole season unbeaten in Scotland, not an easy feat! If you ask any Leeds fan, they will tell you that it was Raphina who saved them, not Marsch. Leeds went in to the final game of the season in the relegation places and were lucky Raphina came up with the goods! The owners of Leeds saw how their season would end if they kept Marsch on, which is why they sacked him - something our oh-so-smart owners failed to do with Ralph, then compounding their mistake by replacing him with Jones. Have you wondered if the "DNA" of the club (as you call it) is worth preserving? This endless gegenpressing from the word go which tires the players out so that we lose leads and pluck defeat from the jaws of victory - if it's that wonderful, why aren't Pep and Arteta employing it?
  21. Wayne Rooney instead of Jesse Marsch please! Ten reasons why Rooney is my top pick: 1. Learnt from the best - Sir Alex Ferguson 2. Can teach our young strikers how to score (was a brilliant young striker himself) 3. Did an admirable job at Derby County (despite a 21-point deduction and no money to spend, almost kept them up, missing by 7 points) 4. Loyal to club (stuck with Derby County despite their financial difficulties) 5. Has experience managing a Championship club (where we'll likely be next season) 6. We can poach Man Utd nippers 7. No more selling our best players to Liverpool 8. Winner off the field as well as on - he and Colleen beat the Vardys 9. Will manage Saints over-75 women's team for free 10. As left-field an appointment as NJ - you just know SR will do it!
  22. No Jesse Marsch please! Ten reasons why not: 1. 2 wins in 17 league games - statistically worse than NJ's 1 win in 8 games 2. Plays like Ralph whom we sacked! 3. "Talks too much", "loves his own voice", "talks a good talk", "talks the talk but can't walk the walk" - Leeds fans 4. Pitch will get narrower over time until Saints end up playing 6-year-old schoolboys football 5. Opposition wingers will have freedom of the city 6. "Only strategy is to create chaos and hope the opposition make a mistake" - Leeds fans 7. "No Plan B" - Leeds fans 8. "Out-thought by every manager including Chris Cooper!" - Leeds fans 9. Simon Jordan and David Seaman say no! 10. Cringeworthy puns - "Oh when the Saints go Marsching in", "We Marsch on"
  23. Rooney is my first choice too, followed by Carrick, then any fancy name foreigner. Ten reasons why Rooney is my top pick: 1. Learnt from the best - Sir Alex Ferguson 2. Can teach our young strikers how to score (was a brilliant young striker himself) 3. Did a "fantastic job" at Derby County (says West Brom manager Carlos Corberan) 4. Loyal to club (stuck with Derby County despite their financial difficulties) 5. Has experience managing a Championship club (where we'll likely be next season) 6. We can poach Man Utd youngsters, not just Man City 7. No more selling our best players to Liverpool 8. Winner off the field as well as on - he and Colleen beat the Vardys 9. Will manage Saints over-75 women's team for free 10. As left-field an appointment as Nathan Jones - you just know SR will do it! P.S. No Jesse Marsch please - can you imagine "Oh when the Saints go marsching in"?
  24. I would take either Carrick or Rooney (no, I'm not a Man U fan), both would do a splendid job for us.
