I thought it was going to be a thread on the merits of our respective City Council administrations.

A loss down there wouldn't be the end of the world. I'd like to think that a hammering down here towards the end of the season that condemns them to League 1 or solidifiys our postion in the top 2 will be sufficient.
-
Yes, it definitely sounded like that.

I listened to Steve Claridge on 5 live after the game. To be fair, he thought we just deserved the win. He also said that he'd seen us 4 times this season, and if we continue to play in the way we have, he could'nt see anyone catching us.

Yes, was a liverpool fan. He used to put on a scouse accent for some reason. Even though he was from Eastleigh.

Hopefully the the media hype leading up to the tournament will be absent now and we'll also be spared seeing the site of cars with St George's Crosses on them.

Juventus to Havant and Waterlooville....you dont fall harder than that.

My old man reckons we haven't had a good government since the end of WWII. Going by the time that I've been able to vote I'm beginning to think he's right Labour in the 70s - rubbish - Winter of discontent, assisted by the unions. If you think the rubbish in the City is bad now, it was worse then Thatcher - Sorted the unions, then we had the economic miracle that lasted about 6 months, the we had a recession. Major - Liked Cricket and supported Chelsea Blair - Great PR, American puppet, concentrating on foreign policy too much whilst letting Brown loose with the Country's Credit Card Brown - Carried on using the Credit Card, and also did as he was told by the banks. Cameron - Doesnt know whether he should be far right or a bit liberal. Recipe for disaster either way.

He wont be able to bring in loads of foreign loan players. So he'll **** up.

Not real Football, but in American Football. I remember Joe Thiesmann from the Washington Redskins literally snapping his leg in two. That looked pretty grim. Its even been mentioned in the Simpsons when Homer watched a video called Worst Spotting Injuries or something like that. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/26/sports/football/26monday.html?pagewanted=all

I dont know why anyone ever bothers drinking beer in the ground. I've tasted better beverages in an Amsterdam swingers club!

I think analysis like this is always a bit suspect. Where does our urban area end and Portsmouth’s start. You cant just relate it to Council boundaries, as areas like Locks Heath are closer to Southampton than Portsmouth, so whilst its part of Fareham Council, its part of the Southampton urban area . Also if you include Gosport in the Portsmouth urban area, then surely you could include the Totton and the Waterside in ours, they might appear like villages but its quite densely populated over there with a population of about 70,000.

Thought the interview was good. Looked liked the cameraman was using the interview as his coursework for his NVQ in Creative Photography, lots of abstract scenes like shadows etc.

If I remember rightly, wasn't Roy Beazley quoted in the Echo saying that they had no problem with Cortese or the club a few months back. Also, I know first hand that the ex saints regularly have a box up at St Mary's.
-
Do the club still employ a PR company to post on messageboards?

Cortese kisses and makes up with the Sun

He's damned if he does and damned if he dont. Its just an interview, he's giving his views. We may or may not agree with them. All of a sudden there's psycholoigcal profilers giving their views on it. -
I can't see it happening, because the OB will want to go for overkill, so that they can all get overtime etc. This scheme would prevent the need for that. However, the senior police officers might think its a good idea, because it will save them money.

Utah Saints. Apparently there's a supporters club in Salt Lake City.

I was in the corner of the East Stand right next to the Archers, there was a load of Spurs fans in there, which made things very spicey throughout the game.

I've have it on good authority Posh Spice definitely thinks of Omerod when she's ****ging Beckham. -
Unfortunately I think Jos is going to be the scapegoat for lack of transfer activity on deadline day. I actually thought that apart from one or two minor errors and a missed timed tackle he did ok yesterday.

I remember signing We Are Top of the League at Derby when we were 2 up at Derby first game of the season in the prem a few years ago. We ended up drawing 2 each. Its all of a bit of a laugh, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. The one I hate is when every one goes 'Whooo?' when the opposition bring on a sub, only for him to bang it in the net after about 5 minutes of being on field. -
By my reckoning using this method of assessing how good a team is... We're as good as Chelsea, and we're better than Arsenal, because we only lost 2-1 to Man U in the Cup last year. Probably better than Man city as well after the Community Shield. Daft isn't it. I thought this type of thing only existing in Junior School.

Does anyone know how much of a relationship existed between the Echo and the Club before the current situation existed. What did the Echo got that no other media outlet had access to? Also why should the Echo be treated any differently from any other media organisation. Times have changed, before the internet, the only news outlet was the press etc. Most football clubs now have their own media outlets via the internet. Therefore, there maybe a view within the club that this is the most appropriate and most accurate news outlet. Then if the Echo choose to pick up the stories from the Website then they can. I’m not sure why people think that there is an issue with the Club not talking to the Echo, as they do via the Internet. Also the media business is very competitive these days, why should the club assist the echo in improving its income, after all they do make money by selling information provided by them to the club. So its not really a free press, as you have to pay for it.
