The last time the went down to the 4th tier, we embarked on the most successful period in our history during the early 80s. Hopefully we can now do the same again. As far as we’re concerned, I think they’re irrelevant now. We should make that clear by not singing about them week in week out. They’ll hate that even more.

Look at it another way. He's got to get one of our results right at some point.

If Saints Supporters had taken over the club....

If the fans took ownership of the club, I would suggest that virtual board meetings are held on this forum at 5:30pm on Saturdays after we have just lost a fixture. Thats when most people are able to think clearly and objectively, and make rational decisions. -
No one has mentioned Newcastle away.

In the same way the there are supposedly Celtic supporters living in Lisbon after their European Cup Final win in 67. I reckon there's Saints fans stuck on the train somewhere around Woking still waiting for the signal failure to be sorted or the broken down train to move. They still think AP is Manager, and are hoping that we're into our 2nd season in the Championship after consolidating during the first one.

Lallana spent a bit of time at Bournemouth on loan, where he was very successful. He came back.

I think you'll find she was married to Lew Chatterley our former coach and caretaker manager.

Any pundit/journalist/ex player that says something positive about us in the media. Its compulsory to say 'good bloke, I always liked him, knows what he's talking about If they say anything negative its compulsory to say 'I've never liked him, he's always been anti saints, he's talking $%^$*' etc. -

In 1972 this is how this transfer would have gone. Manager of buying club sat in office wearing suede coat smoking cigar and drinking a scotch rings manager of selling club sat in office wearing suede coat smoking cigar and drinking a scotch, and says: ‘your lad Ramirez looks handy, how much do you want for him’ Selling manager: ’£35 grand plus £10grand signing on fee for the lad, and £15 grand for me’ Buying manager :’ How about £25 grand transfer fee, £5 grand signing on fee, £15 grand for you and £15 grand for me. Selling manager: ‘Done, he’ll be down on Wednesday for training.

This all remind me of the Cemetery scene in the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I think there's a bit of Latin style face saving going on as well.

That sounds like the story that came out on Friday, Eurosport way behind.

Lack of "real"information re transfers from club!
Prince Jazzbo replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
First time I've heard negotiation described as a fiasco. Imagine if it was the other way round, we would be demanding that the club get the best possible deal, thats clearly what Bologna and Blackpool will be doing. -
I thought Buttner's club made it clear that SFC weren't to blame for the deal falling through, and also that Rangers said that we had acted professionaly in respect of the Davis sitiuation. Or did I imagine all that. Finally it was Ramirez that came out and said what he said not Cortese. So I'm not sure what the issue is here. Unless its a disgruntled ex employee or agent. Who knows?

Has he still got any?

Hull at home last year. We went in 1 down at half time. NA brought him on for the 2nd half. Bizarrely, he made an impact on the game without actually doing anything of note. He made a few of his runs at their defence that came to nothing, but for some reason I think this led to them panicing a bit and making mistakes which allowed us to get back into the game. Apart from that and his goal at Reading, I'm struggling to see what contribution he can make next season. I would love to be wrong, as I quite like his enthusiasm, but unfortunately that alone isn't good enough.

I was in Rhodes on holiday and I spotted a tractor that had been named after him.

Without doubt Barry Davies' best commentary performance was when he covered the World Staring Championships on the Big Train. 'The Chilean often courts controversy, he once attacked a petrol pump attendant. As a result he was forced to give staring lessons to the street kids of Santiago'

How about this An individual fan, preferably in the Northam Shouts ‘Give us a J!’ we all shout ‘J!’ This is repeated for each letter of his name. Once we’ve completed the entire spelling, the said individual will shout ‘What ya got!’ we all shout ‘Jay Rodriguez!’

Southampton Player Trivia: Anyone know any pointless facts?

Then we signed the Wolves keeper a few days later. Can you imagine the uproar on here if we did that now. -
I think by now, he'd realise that the pro game isn't going to be for him. Having said that, most pro and semi pros have very big egos, and very often dont see what everyone else can about them.

Slightly off track. What would happen if Israel qualify for Qatar?
