  1. What about the likes of Huddersfield who won the 1st Division 3 times in a row.
  2. Sorry I meant Bobby Stokes
  3. Jim McCalliog? After all his ball to Booby Stokes set it all going.
  4. I worked in Hudderfield once and there was a bar and nightclub call Johhny's. That was quality, I dont know if its still there.
  5. Doing the Lambert Walk oi! But as already said we need to sign him first.
  6. If you read the last couple of paragraphs, it sounds like they're written by Tony Lynham.
  7. Deal has collapsed. Couldn't get a work permit.
  8. Austin Hayes (RIP) Middlesex
  9. Is that the Don Rogers that scored for Swindon when they won the league cup against Arsenal?

I was working with a load of Pompey blokes in April when we went into Admin, they took the **** and said that they would be getting Sven as their manager. He obviously thinks Notts County are a better bet. What does that tell you? I'm sure if this new bloke could afford him he would have appointed him.
  11. Don't Eastleigh and Totton etc qualify as surrounding metropolitan areas.
  12. Who is Rupert Lowe?
  13. Mid table would suit me, as long as we eliminated the threat of relegation relatively early. I couldn't go through another one of those seasons.
  14. To be fair that not true, they spent 20 odd years in the Div 1 in the 30s, 40s and 50s, and were runners up on one occasion. They've won the FA Cup once. Pretty similar history to ours I reckon. In fact of all the other two SE London clubs they are the more successful
  15. Whilst I have no problem with John Hartson, and my heart goes out to him and his family in respect of his current circumstances. Why is it when someone becomes seriously ill, or dies, they suddenly become 'alright' in everybody's eyes? The Jade Goody thing is a good example, or even Michael Jackson.
  16. To be honest, I'm not taking too much notice of the results from the first 4 games. It appears that at no time during these games have we played our strongest group of players. I would expect on saturday, that the players that played well in the first 4 games will be in the starting line up. I will go. Also the prospect of an embarrassing defeat has never put me off before!
  17. He could play the Dam Busters theme....... Seriously, musical instruments at football in my eyes would be as popular as a yank wearing the Stars and Stripes in Tehran High Street. Its not just Westwood, that bloke from Blackpool's constant banging on the drums should have his sticks rammed firmly where the sun dont shine...... Which is probably Blackpool!
  18. I expect this is a re-hash of all the other press reports which I am sure have been put around by Adams' Agent a bit like the Celtic job.
  19. Colon= Tony Adams
  20. The piece above it about Pompey's kit supplier is probably just as amusing.
  21. StockPort County were also founded from a church, why did'nt he buy them?
  22. They may well be refusing to deny it because if they do, everyone will think 'oh right it not Strachan' thus setting hares running in places that the club may not want to, as they may be in negotiation with someone. Its a bit like the yanks never denying that there are flying saucers at Area 51, the less they deny it the more conspiracy theories there are, thus taking the spotlight away from what really goes on there. I'll get me coat.
  23. I'm getting 'Too Many Login Attempts Account Locked' That was after my first go, and my credentials were correct.
  24. What I find surreal is that this whole thing started alomost to the day Ted Bates died in 2003. Although we were 4th in the Prem at Xmas, Strachan resigned soon after, and then it all went pear shaped from then onwards. Also if you look at our years of success, I believe that they began in 1955 when Ted Bates became manager, the whole time he was at the club right up until he died we were pretty successful. Since his death it has been a nightmare for us all. Perhaps he had a word with God and said 'look I think Saints deserve a bit of good fortune now, can't you sort something out and bring back the good times down there.' God somehow to Markus Liebherr and now Ted will be happy.
  25. I actually think that he has started to put his face around a bit i.e. on Talksport, he seems to be on Sky quite a bit. So I would hardley describe him as unknown. Also, if we're honest its not always the manager that attracts players to a club the lure of the greenbacks is a pretty good incentive these days.
