Is my mate responsible for our good form?
Prince Jazzbo replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
The reminds me of a passage from Spike Milligan's 'Rommel - Gunner Who?' when Spike and some of his mates were bombed while in a foxhole. One of his mates jumped up and shouted 'I hope you crash you b*****d', immediately afterward the plane was shot down. After this event, his mate spent the rest of his time in North Africa trying to persuade his commanding officers that he had the psychic power tho bring down enemy aircraft and that he should be used as the Allies secret weapon and afforded all the privileges that go with it. Nothing to do with football, but amusing. -
Watch The Damned United, see how much Brian Clough hated them. When he got there he said (in Brian Clough style) 'You might have won everything, but you did it all by cheating'
-
He should queue up in A&E like the rest of us do on a Saturday night!

I thought the entitlement for cup games was 15%. Which would give us 1800 or so. If it was 25% that means teams coming to St Mary's would be entitled to 8000. I think the most we've given out is 4800.

At the Bristol Rovers game, I went up and bought my usual half time black coffee, emptied to sachets of sugar in to it, stirred it. Took my first sip, only to find they'd given me Bovril, which with sugar tastes rather unique. Although I'm glad we lost as I might have seen it as an omen and repeat it at every game.

How about 'David David Connolly' To the tune of 'sha sha sha sha la la lee' by the Small Faces

Too late.... He's gone to Leeds Just realised it was already on here

Are the Government trying to influence our sexual preferences? When I was driving in this morning, the matrix sign at the end of the Marchwood Bypass clearly displyed the words ' Think Bi'

Where do you expect Saints to finish this season?

They would have been shot for defeatism under the Nazis -
Apparently they really stuck the boot in against Charlton last saturday, so we'll need to be prepared for that. I'd be happy with a draw up there.

From our point of view it might be a good move. It gives us the chance to give him 2 months of first team action (if he gets it) without us taking the risk. Looking at the Torquay game he was pretty awful, but that may be lack of games. I dont think we can afford to start him only for him to have a bad game, give a goal away or something and get a load of grief on here. Therefore, lets let someone else take the risk and hopefully in a couple of months he may come back ready to make a positive contribution here.

Charlton had 2700 there, Millwall had about 1900. So I would guess that we would get 2700 at best and about 2000 at worst.
-
None of them had -10 deficit to make up. Based on their performances they probably would have expected to part company by mutual consent (the sack in english). Although I still think Bryan Gunn's sacking was a little premature. If we didn't have the -10 I wouldn't necessarily be happy with our position, but I wouldn't be looking for AP to be sacked.

I know this may seem a long time ago. But I always remember playing at Oxford at the Manor Ground on Boxing Day in 1975ish, behind the goal was split between home and away, and had a very low roof, so it was really noisy. To be honest I couldn't see much of the game but the atmosphere was great. Also Orient in 1978 when we got promoted

The best interpretation of this has to be the PA at Leicester City, who just after 9/11 sung 'Hey Mr Taliban Give us back Bin Laden' Apparently he was sacked soon after.

Personally I dont think Keegan is all that as a manager. If you compare him to Pardew what more has he done in terms of success?

I think the law looks at the different circumstances, if you belt someone in a fight and kill them, I would think that they would take the view that you have intended to do harm.

One adult male was killed. If it was an eye for an eye policy wouldn't that mean that he should be sentenced to death.
-
m'lud would have taken this into account. Sentence seems about right. It didn't involve violence, drunken driving etc.
-
Did he plead guilty or not guilty and did he show remorse, as this would have had a bearing on the sentence handed down.

Objective Assessment Season to Date?
Prince Jazzbo replied to Kingsbridge Saint's topic in The Saints
If you look at Bournemouth last season, it actually took them quite a long time to get out of the relegation zone. I think it's likely to be the same for us. Clawing back from -10and then maintaining a position outside of the relegation zone was always going to be very difficult, especially for a club like ours that had spent the last few years in intensive care being treated by crap doctors. We're recovering, but there are going to be set backs on the way. If we can make it through this season without going down, then we only need to look to Bournemouth (as much as i hate it) to see what can be achieved. -
This isn't the first time we've equalised against Carlisle in injury time. We did the same in 1976 (I think). Everyone went mental then as well.

To be honest I dont really care who says what. However, If people on here are so exercised about the issue, why don't they propose that they become the official spokesperson for this site. They could submit a paragraph on here stating why they are the best person for the job, and those that are interested could vote for the candidate they feel is the best person for the job. The elected person could then provide the Echo with their contact details and inform them that they are the official spokesperson for the the website that is the mouthpeice for the largest number of Saints fans Just a suggestion.

I think too many people here are making the assumption that Trinidad and Tobago have access to a vast array of footballing talent and that they surely have better players than Jake Thompson. The fact is they haven't, so any professional in the UK that is eligible to play for them is in with a chance. It's a bit like saying that I'm not good enough to be picked to play for the Faroe Isles, the fact is like the rest of the Faroe Isles squad I am good enough.
