good spot stevo. points to what I said earlier. those outside the club able to take a more objective view and see this all as it is - pathetic.

Well no not really. If you listened properly you would have seen that students were put into seperate queues in places like Sheffield. Some of whom stood for 3 hours to vote. Seems a tad harsh to blame the 'long haired druggies' as Dune so eloquently put it. Yes, let's take away the vote from Students - because they might be liberal eh Dune? Or are you just worried that the more educated amongst society will disagree with some of your ill-informed opinions?

Wow. Myself and Alpine in agreement. That must be a first. What do you say Alps, you willing to back what i have said above: forget the past, get behind the club and help us move forward?

There are a significant amount of people on here saying well done. It is the more ungrateful amongst us, who seem hell bent on clinging on to the past that are taking issue with what he said.

Cortese is right. Frankly what do Le Tiss KK and LM know about running the club. Granted LM was manager, but he was running team affairs, not running the club - the two are very seperate. Yes LeTiss is a god around here - but that is due to what he did for us on the pitch. He attempted to get involved off the pitch last year and look how I worked. He should keep his involvement with Southampton to the glorious memories he gave us on the pitch. (n.b. I am not blaming LeTiss personally for the Pinnacle debacle, I do think he was trying to help - but undoubtedly his presence blinded both us and Fry - and could have been damaging)

I have banged on about the Westlothian Question on here many times before. It really is an issue that needs to be addressed as this proves. As said he really is a twit. For the duration of the past government Labour has been supported by Scottish MPs that have voted on issues not affecting their constituents and are no moaning about the fact that the Tories are in power. Fair play to Labour for rejecting the 'Rainbow Alliance' - and for once I agree with David Blunkett who claimed that this would represent a 'majority of the defeated' and this certainly would raise some very sticky democratic and constitutional issues. The idea of an anti-Tory coalition really is loathesome - and characteristic of how nasty left-wing politics can be.

How easy is it for football managers to adapt their 'natural' style?
IamLeGod replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
He was a gobsh!te before he came to england. Don't appoint someone like that if you don't like it. Still you can say what you like about him personally, the fact still remains he was their most successful manager -

Im not sure if I necessarily agree with your sentiments. But if what you say is true - it is hardly unprecedented. One only has to look at Chelski to see that success is not the only brief for those that see the club as their 'baby'. Mourninho, was the clubs most succesful manager and still did not satisfy the owner due to the more cautious approach you outlined being taken. That said I'm not wholly convinced that it is possible to categorise managers simply into the types, and am unsure Pardew fulfills the criteria you have suggested. We have been a very attacking side for the majority of the season - smashing 5 against sides like huddersield and bristol rovers away would suggest we are more of an attacking side. This is ofcourse my humble opinion. And I am also not a football manager (except for in the game), this is jsut my interpretation of how I see things -
I do understand this. But as I was trying to say, we need to put it behind us and move forward. Any sensible person can see that we are on to a winner here. Ask any of your non-saints supporting mates to look at the article - they can give a much more objective opinion not tainted by our past under Rupes et al.

FFS, its a programme. Who cares? I'm sure there will be plenty more programmes being printed over next season. These things happen sometimes - it was clearly just seized upon as an attempt to fuel wreckless speculation that had no grounding in reality. He has come out, less than a week after the season has ended and quashed media speculation. He issued a lenghty article - far more than what is necessary, and has taken the time to participate in several lenghty interviews answering questions asked directly by fans. Where else do you see other Chairmen, Cheif Execs, whatever their title doing that? Liverpool? Man Utd? Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm no. Please god open your eyes, we are so lucky to have this structure in place. I know we have been hurt by the past and the petty scrobbles at board room level - with individuals there purely for their own reps. But these bad times are merely a distant memory now. Cortese has more than fulfilled his brief, and for that I thank him.
-
Meh theres not much to love/hate about it. It is hardly that different to the existing crest..
-
AS he said, he will not comment on every piece of idle speculation. The media whipped up this frenzy on its own, with papers continually pointing at each others speculation as justification. He points out that he would much rather focus his efforts on developing the club (his actual job) than wasting time commenting on every piece of wild press speculation

We really have the management structure that is the envy of most of the Prem teams. I just showed this article to a football writer friend of mine, who is also a liverpool fan. He simply said 'I want that'. How people can complain about Cortese or even think about comparing him to the unmentionables of the past is simply beggars belief. Once again the man has got it spot on. Thank you for saving our club, and Thank you in advance for taking it back to where it should be - I have no doubt whatsoever that this set up can take us back to where we belong! Roll on next season, and the seasons to follow. The dark days are well and truly behind us, FFS let us stop being a bunch of joke supporters to traumatised by events of the past to understand we really are on to something truly special, and that we should get behind this and move onwards and upwards together. I offer (as I have all season) my unreserved support of both Pardew and Cortese, and the playing team! May this sense of excitement long continue! COYS!!

... would recommend Kid Chameleon - brilliant game. Be very impressed if you can complete it, it seems endless!

I'd recommend the K fusion one: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/genesis/fusion.html I'm a total newb at that sort of stuff but even I sussed it out. Just download that, download and extract the roms you want to play then open them using the file tap - load genesis.

I've said before on here Blair changed the face of politics. I also siad before that Cameron = Blair Mk II Interesting to see Blair Mk III (as i suggested he would - though it was rather obvious) has declared his candidacy for leadership.

What were you doing in there?

Whilst it is global, I seem to recall Brown claiming his policies had meant that we were the best equipped country to rise out of the recession in the world. Was that the case? Look at pretty much any other country similar to us and you will see he quite simply got it wrong. Most countries came out stronger and faster than we did. For all his claims, Gordon was not an economist. The fact he sat as Chancellor for 10 years is nothing to do with skill, more that he was unmoveable, and a horrible nasty piece of bully boy. Happy to claim the economy was all his doing then nothing to do with him when it was going well, then washed his hands of it when it went wrong. Yes I have said this before but time and time again his supporters seem to want to ignore this. I'm happy with this coalition. It will be interesting to see how it works, and I hope it does - for the good of the country. Labour undoubtedly did some good things for the country. But alot has gone wrong. And it is not the things that simple statistics can measure. The last thirteen years has created a barmy, over-beaurcratic system that focuses its energy in the wrong places. FFS, where else in the world would a teacher be sacked for defending himself from a pupil swinging punches at him (not that bloke on the news - I witnessed this at my old school when I went back to coach the footy team)? This chav/asbo culture has been created as their is a simple lack of discipline. No-one can touch these horrible little scum-bags and they no. React and you will get persecuted. It is born from boredom and reliance. Reliance which has manifested itself in the culture this Labour govt has created. Now I am no tory, and even less a fan of Cameron. But I do feel it was time Labour went. Hopefully this coalition wil achieve what the two leaders are saying. Party differences put aside to create practical solutions with the National Interest their sole interest. Mr. Clegg and Mr. Cameron please deliver, good luck. And to the outgoing Mr. Brown, I'll borrow your sentiments "Thank you and Goodbye".

Seeing as both lib dems and labour have come out and said there will be no deal, pretty much the first part this, it seems 'jezza' is wrong. Stick to what you know, which frankly isnt even that much.

Here here. I don't know what truth there is in any speculation. So rather than add to it would like to voice my desire for him to stay and become an integral part of the future of our club. He has the potential to become a firm part of the history of this club, and I certainly hope he fulfils that potential both on the field and off.

Stop kidding yourself. This is by no means a Tory phenomenon. Do you really think it is a coincidence that Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson were both at and graduated from Oxford at the same time? What do you think will happen (which is looking increasingly likely) will happen if David Miliband takes over from Brown as Labour Party leader/PM. Can you really see him dispelling his brother to the backbenches to prevent accusations of patronage? Get real.

BNP take note. Look at the honourable, dignified heroes commemorating VE day. These men fought to defend against Fascism. The millions that died would be turning in their graves to see you envoking the name of this nation as justification for the loathesome nonsense you have been spouting. On Thursday the country rejected your horrible, racist, nasty, ignorant, inciteful Fascist views. Get out of our country - it is YOU that are not welcome here.
-
It doesnt matter what else happens. I will always cheer about the BNP losing any form of seat. Be it council, Parliament or European Parliament.
