It's a good idea for around 25 people a season for whom it is a good idea...how does that help their situation?...how does it help fill more than the two (discounted) seats they provide in the package? Th OP found it comical, I found it comical...yet some of you are turning it in to an attack on Cortese, the ticketing policy...whatever your agenda happens to be! Lighten up and take a financial reality pill...this does little or nothing for their financial plight and to infer that we should be doing something similar or in some way suggest that we should take steps that don't add up is a recipe for the woes that have beset both clubs in the recent past. The difference appears to be that we have maybe learned not to go down that route again. NB - It is in my Saints supporting DNA to mock those of the PO code affliction.

So...marketing genius it must be then. 25 extra seats a year sold at a discounted price. they're saved. making losses is easy...they're just doing it whilst maing a diminutive number of inbreds happy in the process-and no- I wouldn't see it as anything different if it was us! I wouldn't take the p*ss AS much but then I'm not a skate apologist .-)

QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)
dronskisaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Warnock quoted as “We need a wide player, obviously Wayne Routledge looks like joining Swansea, and we’ve been looking at Jason Puncheon,” Warnock told London24. “He’s someone who has done really well, he’s exactly the sort of player I like, he’s pacy and direct, someone with something to prove, a player with a bit of hunger, we need players like that at QPR this season. He’s a player we’ve been looking at, so now we need to see what happens in the next 10 days or so.” Anyone else feel he's been looking at another of our wingers? Pacy, direct, hungry?? -

Drink several pints of water before you go to bed tonight...... -
People don't buy pies??!! Agree though, it's always been a part of the match day experience to have a Bovril, pie, programme and a beer....if I break the sequence we either draw, lose or win!

It's just a lottery...Camel-out I'll get my coat

Also City had come up with us as I recall so there wasn't the novelty of a 'big' name draw. Remember it well...I was 12 standing in the choc boxes and still disbelieving that we'd done it...happy days!

Erm...only if it proves to be a correct assumption

Probably a sliding scale down to a tenner :-)

It's a fire sale price given the break down of prices...if you've got webbed hands and sleep with your sister it's a great deal....if you're a 'football club' trying to break even it smacks of desperation. Happy to help!

He's making way for Puncheon......

I guess I'd be expecting an apology if the crowd was whatever is deemed to be a healthy one....for me over 25k is probably good on a day when it's on Sky and a lot of people will be away on holiday?

And I can understand why your fondlers didn't want to come back....political asylum perhaps?

Indeed - I was fortunate enough to be at that match. Sydenham spent his career in the shadow of Terry Paine to a great extent and Paine's talents endured to become a class midfielder as he slowed down whereas John Sydenham eventually got kicked in to retirement as I recall...superb crosser of the ball though and what can be said about Ron Davies that's not been said already. I have never in all my football watching career seen a better 'hanger' and header of the ball. Really nice guy too.....I had his autograph a couple of times and each time he was really friendly to a star-struck kid. -
Last visit (Euell scored twice day!) we just bought on the gate.

Make sure that it's the dish taken cold....!

Good fun evening - reminder to self to do this more often! Part of the fun was identifying who was playing....the programme that had been printed covered their three pre-season friendlies (Coventry & Leicester the other two) and the Saints probable squad looked like a Skate team sheet only in that only seven were listed...I guess the print off from our U21 web page. I'd had a rare attack of efficiency and printed off the Academy page as well and trying to identify players from a grainy black & white print out became part of the evening fun. Kettering surprised me...they were better than I'd been expecting and, whilst muscular, did play a passing game. our kids, Racine excepted, were bounced off fairly easily in the physical stake. One or two comedy moments...Kettering brought on a centre forward towards the end who made Peter Crouch look both short and coordinated...I swear one of our identikit short, fair-haired midfielders brushed his head on his b*llox when he ran through his legs without ducking! Another comedy moment when Jack Stephens had his shirt literally ripped from his back exposing the heart monitor/gps(?) bra like thing that they were all wearing...many comical comments from the locals who were unfamiliar with the concept! As reported a 0-0 draw but far from boring - with a little more composure the youngsters could have had two or three in the first half hour but it's good to relate that our 'development' team play a really nice brand of football and keep trying to play the same way all through even when being pressurised. Both keepers looked good and commanding - we thought the first one was Jack Dovey but small thumbnails are not the greatest means of identification! Racine was a real leader and commanding in his marshalling of the defence...they had a few chances but only rarely were we troubled in to saves and the keeper(s) were up to that. Sorry - work is busy so this is a bit patchy - had a good evening meeting the assembled Saints supporters in the pub first...wish we'd stayed next to the nice guy with the grandson during the game -he lived 200 yds from Staplewood &, I'm sure knew all who were out there. I'm happy - our future style of play looks attractive and assure and there were certainly individuals out there who looked to be good enough to step up..just wish I could identify them :-)

My last 3 have all been A6 derivatives...60k in the first (2.5 TDI Saloon), 88k in the Allroad (same 2.5 engine) and 18k so far in the current 3.0TDI Quattro. Had a 2.3 Galaxy for 130k but less than 2 years...longest probably 4 years was a Morris Traveller...it kept passing MOTs much to my amazement...I usually changed when they failed back then. Only about 60k in miles though.

Certainly more than a couple of us meeting there - be good to see as many as possible.

Cheers for that!
