  1. Plenty good enough for England...gets stick on here because we are used to seeing him and have done through his development but most teams would welcome him...time to get behind him, he's been here since he was 8 so the skate tag doesn't really apply!
  2. Applause!! :-)
  3. Yes...got a few bites and loved the user names that got invented! Toaster brands got a good airing :-)
  4. On with the comedy...ex-Saints loanee who couldn't get a game for us in League 1 scores thus ensuring a draw at fading Fatpipes...it's the hope that kills them :-) Shalala etc
  5. That'll bring the lighting up to Championship standard....happily the rest of the festering, fish-furgling, sister-****ging care in the community set-up remains where it really only just belongs! As you say...bring on the comedy :-)
  6. I'm on several Saints related FB pages and here but didn't read it...like a few others here it caught me by surprise but others around me (in Block 127 so mostly ST holders I guess) said what it was but, I agree, would have been nice to have had a thread about it.
  7. Not sure I would fancy plastic seats! ;-)
  8. The pot is barely tin........!
  9. What it confirms is that there is no crisis..but you know that. Our European exit was several matches further on than last season and I don't have a problem with our style of play although I'd like a little more consistency - which I'm confident will come. What it doesn't tell you is that we have reached a Wembley final...or that this has been achieved despite injuries to our main goalscorer, our best defender, our most creative midfielder...I can go on but you're not worth the effort even if you do recognise your type by my description.
  10. Thanks for doing this...I wish a few of our more myopic depressives would visit this page :-)
  11. Did it give that impression? Spot the instant response - have I accidentally become a troll?!
  12. Interesting read, thanks - seems that he works very hard on his role in the club and, given that we had a tailor-made opportunity to unload him, justifies his position... ....which makes him here on merit to anybody without an agenda!
  13. Otherwise referred to as the same group that oversaw/masterminded us getting to the final....something so many clubs would love to see in their lifetime!
  14. Balance?
  15. Your, almost unhinged, dislike of Les Reed even surpasses your dislike of nearly everything Southampton Football Club. I'm not saying he is here forever, only that, in my opinion, he has done an excellent job of structuring what was already a good but occasionally dysfunctional club since he was appointed. He has worked under different chairpersons and delivered consistent improvement in pretty much every sector of the club from kids to the first team. This, again in my opinion, has been done against a backdrop of his having to fit the business model that the Board/Owners have decreed that he work to - he's not a shareholder. I've supported Saints since the early sixties and seen all the ups and downs in that time - we have good, brilliant, sh*t and dire seasons, parts of seasons...that's football at the level we can compete at....and without becoming Manchester City (please don't throw Leicester in ..again there have been Ipswich, QPR etc that are exceptions to prove the rule in the past) - I'm happy to hear my club regularly described as one of or the best run clubs in the country and I enjoy seeing home produced players come through. The way that this (and similar threads) are portraying our situation is more akin to when we got relegated to L1...that was dire, things needed changing. We got lucky - in came Marcus, Coretese, Pards, Ricky, Nigel, Poch, the lying Dutchman and the rest that have been part of this....the constant? Mr Reed!
  16. EFL Cup final....isn't that a knighthood in the Civil Service?
  17. Remind me how far in the past the EFL Cup final is?
  18. You pick your favourite bit then....
  19. The clueless regime that put in place the 'not that far away from being a decent team' that is currently ravaged by the loss of it's best goalscorer, captain/defender and now most creative midfielder?
  20. As in Les Reed the guy who has overseen our rise from L1 to European football and now to a Wembley final Les Reed?
  21. Keegan, Osgood and Shilton for me... plus getting Dave Watson was quite a coup too as I recall...was England's current centre back when he came.
  22. What a pity you didn't share your findings with the club.........
  23. Welcome Manolo....I hope you never read good enough English to see what a forum-dwelling p*ss poor, limp-wristed bunch of bed-wetters consider to be a positive thread about signing a quality Italian forward! There are exceptions on here but ....good grief - the negativity about a signing???!!!
