  1. Fascinating, really enjoyed watching..where did it come from?
  2. Most worrying thing for me was that there was a pug-ugly pic of me at the top of the page that had obviously been taken as the screen was playing silly b*ggers. How do they do that? I wasn't on my animal porn/letters to relatives about an inheritance computer so knew it was a hoax but how do they get through? I have a company anti-virus that's supposed to be the best? Easy to get rid of though even for a Luddite like me...just downloaded a fix on to a memory stick on another computer and followed the instructions.
  3. A Crab Lungs mini rant is a good way to start the day.... NB History goes all the way back tp PtahFC 2010 (in administration)...deluded f*ckwits!
  4. Now taken - thanks!
  5. One ticket in Block 2 available -Change of circumstances for me so sadly won't get down tomorrow so have one block 2 ticket (up near back from memory) that can be bought from the person I go with outside the ground tomorrow about an hour before kick-off. PM me if you want it - only want £30 as gutted I can't go but would be happy if someone could.
  6. I just want to know how the golf groupie got his descriptions so accurate.....has he met those described?
  7. This!
  8. Could I ask a really dumb question...living where I do I obviously can't get Solent - would an internet radio allow the same range of stations as you get on a computer assuming wifi connection? Thanks in advance
  9. First thing I thought too....I'd hope he'll be in a prominent position alongside other greats.
  10. Possibly our most improved player...reads the game well, stands off when outdone for height and tackles more than adequately. Agreed that RB does not appear to be his best position but then...it isn't. Looks more accomplished every game for me. As it's been mentioned on a Yoshida thread already - Jos...just gets on with it and looks better the more his confidence grows...he has fought for his place and has earnt it.
  11. FFS - get the point? We are playing well, we're not winning enough. We could be playing sh*t hoofball and not winning, we could be not getting any shots and not winning but that's not the case....is it?! We have a better chance of winning if we play well....get the point? The one thing that worried me too was the timing of Adkins sacking but we're never going to get beyond hypothetical speculation on that one so it's a dead end to pursue.
  12. I actually thought similarly - I've never doubted that Alpine is Saints through and through...his demeanour is that of a depressive and his posts reflect that but the 'new' breed are a little strange...negativity for the sake of it, dreary agenda-driven postings spouting the same tired drivel. Naturally having my own opinions makes me CoC...as opposed to Canada Saint's SaD as applied to the skate-plants - sneerers and detractors sums it up very well ...in my opinion. To answer the original points though 1) Time will tell...difficult to say that Clyne, Davis and Yoshida aren't good buys but whether Forren, Ramirez (who has undoubted class) and Mayuka turn out...I'm not going to dismiss them on the small amount of evidence I've seen. 2) We obviously bought well historically to be playing a nucleus of the same team that brought us through the leagues...it was never going to be easy to know how they would adapt but Morgan, Ricky, Fonte, Punch, Cork and Adam have made the step...I'd even argue the case for Hooiveld who has had more good games than bad now - they presumably knew that Shaw could come through but you can never be certain. We've replaced Davies, we have Forren as cover, Rodriguez has shown encouraging signs of late...the buys are largely good long-term. Obviously there are exceptions and they're largely out on loan but our buying committee have got more right than wrong and the youth squads are flying. Of course we could have spent stupid money and got others in....that might have taken a while to bed in but we've shown faith in the squad who have got us here..and will do unless they aren't deemed long term as with poor old Nigel. The one bit of this season so far that worries me is the timing of that decision but it's a hypothetical question that can never be answered. 3) There's not a manager in the world who always gets it right either tactically or team-selection-wise...until someone comes out (Pardew or NA) to say that they've been told to pick certain players it's forum speculation and my contribution to the 'honest' debate is that I think it's cr ap. Certainly the management team would lean on each others' abilities and knowledge but I don't believe a team is picked by a chairman or whatever position Les Reed holds...that's not logical. Finally - we have no divine right to do better than other clubs..promoted or in situ. This is football and I'm enjoying the ride - at the moment more than we were on the way down and in danger of going out of business. This can be taken as being happier with more decisions than I'm unhappy with and if that makes me any more of a supporter then let it happily be so - I applaud all those who have the best interests of my club at heart.
  13. This... But please don't feed the skate-plant;)
  14. Agree 100% Unashamedly I'm an old f*rt that believes that real music is created by musicians (those that can play music...some even write it..shock, horror) not accountants and their puppet-profit vehicles. But then there were the Monkees.....
  15. Probably In my opinion the loopholes in the current proposals are big enough to drive the Queen Mary through as it allows naming rights to be considered as outside the footballing budget and the Liverpools, Man Cities, Chelseas and now even Arsenals of this world can invite investment way beyond that allowed or available to the majority. I think Cortese's argument is based around the 'businesses' that generate genuine re-investable and sustainable profits are restricted in their being rewarded for that. All my opinion only but never been gladder not to have been born in the PO code!
  16. Pretty close Pat..little village between Yarmouth and Lowestoft - Plonko lives just South of Lowestoft so there are a few of us amongst the land of extra digits!
  17. Been raining heavily up here for several hours - going to be a very wet pitch!
  18. There's no bad news in these but they are necessarily only the headlines. Those who are trying to itemise the accounts and identify gaps physically cannot see anything there because you're not looking at a balance sheet. If a loan has been taken out (and I'm not doubting it given the dating of the PL payout) then it will have been quantified within the profitability figure as being an interest payment structure within the relevant dates. It's been in the public domain for a couple of seasons (I think) that the loan has been converted to share capital but that, too, balances against the perceived worth....a little more now than when ML/NC purchased it!
  19. Given the dismal shortfall in the Trust response to save the club...good luck with the fighting fund!
  20. Don't feed the skate....
  21. I might have - but for the fact he was quite prepared to let the blog host take all the sh*t last week... classy!
  22. Normally I agree with your posts but how can you arrive at that conclusion? He is capable of perfectly weighted passing (for RL last week), beautifully disguised passes and can beat defenders on a sixpence to set up chances...I thought last week that he was regaining form and fitness...he got a lot of rough treatment today and didn't show at his best but can't agree he's not incisive!
  23. +1 - great read!
  24. Back in August the fishy phew were not bottom of L1 entirely on their own (although diminutively supported by the bestest fans in Portsea Island) merits. I would have thought that even the council could see that a L2 income makes a loan more risky without the fact the cost projections for this year were based on fantasy crowd figures. Shalala etc:D
