Listened to the 'debate' on my four hour drive after the game. Even had a Fat Sham fan agree that Lambert was a better pick currently, had LeTiss tweeting in how it was shameful that he's not in the squad and the overwhelming concensus went to Ricky. Savage is a talentless c*ck with an overbearing, shouting down, annoying voice..why the cluck he's employed in the media I have no idea. He got taken apart by a Saints fan called Peter though...only caught the back end of the actual exchange but it amused his senior presenter that he'd been comprehensively put in his place.

Well researched and thought through article - I enjoyed that thanks. FF - in answer to your question I think it's twofold. One being the continuity expressed in the article...it's not practical to make wholesale changes in personnel if, in the club managements' opinion, things need shaking up and two - refreshing a talented squad is often only going to be achieved by a substantial change in input - and the managerial position change is the only one that can have that impact. Of course the Ferguson/Wenger argument negates that somewhat but they have changed their assistants a number of times over the years...they're also probably the exceptions that prove the rule...there aren't many other PL examples through the years.

Was in Sweden and missed this....really saddened. One of the best guitarists I've ever seen and certainly one of the fastest technically, was lucky enough to see him a few times including the IOW...spent a sad/happy evening yesterday going through the youtube offerings. The Woodstock version of 'Goin Home' and 'Bluest Blues' will, for me, be his epitaph. RIP and thanks for being part of the backdrop to my youth.

Got to question the sanity of a manager whose CV consists of the skates, Blackpool and Blackburn....he probably self-harms in his leisure time for relaxation. Still on for the treble though...all three clubs he's been associated with all in with a chance of relegation...one absolutely nailed on!
