  1. Sad news, my thoughts are with his family. Part of a fun period in my Saints supporting life he never ever gave less than his all. RIP
  2. Let's see who is accurate then....I trust you won't be standing by your record...the one that you dismissed when reiterated as 'Whatever...' Wrong is wrong, wrong is what you have consistently been over the last three seasons...'Whatever...' is a juvenile copout and I treat your endless pronouncements of doom as cheery portents of better things to come. I'll give Variety a go if you promise me you'll check in to The Priory...your family will thank you as well as multiple SWF followers
  3. I'm encouraged by the fact that you have been wrong with most of your previous pronouncements so expect Ramirez to be player of the year next year. On the broader and less 'emotional' perspective I'd like to see another proven central defender come in - our stated policy is to develop our own supply through the academy so I would not like to see a 'time-server' keeping our younger players back. We haven't seen Forren yet but he's patently been bought for the longer term...we obviously thought there was potential to work on. I'd like to see another similar vintage left-back, another creative midfielder and another forward. Again Mayuka is another unknown quantity...I'm not about to judge him or Ramirez on the basis of a first season in a new country, league and club but if he is the answer for the pace then another J-Rod cover would be good. I think QPR have shown how badly bought 'PL-experienced' players can undermine and under-perform. I think we have the basis of a cohesive and supportive squad of very talented youngsters who will only get better. If we can add quality and cover without disturbing the team-spirit then we look onwards and upwards. The issue with buying with English experience is that 1) we'll be in competition with clubs that are perceived as being bigger and 2) there's just not that many of them. Last summer we managed to get Clyne...that was a real coup for our 'committee'...likewise Rodriguez and I'm sure we'll try for more but there's not necessarily an option to go for the finished article...either by availibility or finance and I'm reasonably happy that we're showing that we can hit a good balance....the future of the club from top to bottom seems as if it's following the path that NC and ML set out three years ago...yes there will be hiccups on the way but with prudent scouting, coaching from the Academy upwards and sensible provision of finance our summer buying looks to be in good hands.
  4. You could bring your own cushion?
  5. Which would be where the OP would be getting his influence from:rolleyes:
  6. Agreed...always good to see a massive PR build up before reality sends it plumetting to the ground! Thousands of posts left in this thread - take your seats for endless amusement as they pluckily take on clubs two whole steps above Eastleigh
  7. Ah, the good old days! Fantastic times that we live in...
  8. Just been told that have bought the last 3 together in the ground in block 11. Have Canadian relative over...that'll be a first in that block for me!
  9. Brown side up?
  10. Option 2 sounds good and somebody used the word fatuous earlier...surely deserves binning with such an accurate and descriptive word!
  11. Looked good, only saw on a feed but it looked like Dyer was on fire until Danny got his measure.
  12. This - Fox is not as bad as the blinkered ones insist. He's an adequate cover until we have a better option and actually adds to one aspect of our game with his dead ball crossing ability.
  13. Noting that Oldhams' captain has got his dad refereeing...assume that their number 29 is right wing - got a sub called Winchester - The omens are good!
  14. Sh*t thread in my opinion...and the reason being that unless you do comparative data on every PL defender who performs the same job as Jos then it's meaningless. Also why would you want to?
  15. Quotes them as part of a South Coast Renaissance...Saints close to sealing PL status, Brighton near to a play-off place in the Championship, Cherries closing in on promotion from L1 and errr....cheating skate b&stards still finding their level
  16. Upton Park...one weird sort of atmosphere in that only those near the few who had transistor radios had any inkling what was going on and rumours spread outwards getting worse as it unfolded. Like the others I remember Liverpool supporters getting the blame but what stays in my mind was the slightly guilty feeling about being revved up for the game yet the cheers and usual banter became more and more muted as the game went on. I'd left my car at Gants Hill so didn't get to the radio for over an hour after the game and listening in silence all the way back.
  17. We were reputed to have beaten Arsenal to his signature when he came from Plymouth...pleased we're signing the youth developers to bring on. Played at various levels for England too...happy to see it!
  18. Quite like Walsall and Coventry fans for their humour and dignity when we've been promoted....used to find Bournemouth fans fairly inoffensive but now they decided they'd be offensive so not any more. I really hate skate 'fans' all phew of them...was that part of the question?
  19. Brilliant news, he's just got better and better and is growing in to a player who will scare the opposition sh*tless! Love this club!
  20. And from under the rock of delusion crawls another of the f*ckers!
  21. Also, for the sake of balance, the mentality of the eighties Thatcherites...?
  22. Sympathy to her family Sadly her legacy continues!
  23. 'Tis sad to relate, but skate cannot skate, In the sea, they lie on the bottom. They lie quite still, In waters chill, Until a fishermans got'em." ( Spike Milligan ) My favourite Goon from forever.....this and his consignment to Room 101 of the sh*thole almost warrant a statue outside St Mary's. I guess for fisherman read grim reaper, Chinny, judge, PDT....they're in such a 'no win' scenario it barely matters WTFILN
  24. Worryingly that is almost word for word how I described his 606 Saturday sheite - petulant self-satisfied pr*ck that embarrasses his own co-presenter...unusually I didn't turn him off but only because the focal subject was Saints related. He usually gets the Redcrap treatment...instant off button!
