In terms of quality of football, quality of life, quality of manager, quality of fans, quality of appreciation - why on earth would Ricky want to make a step down? He has waxed lyrical about the quality of Saints training, medical and sports science staff and the way the whole set-up has changed his physique, approach and above all, success...I think a polite scouse 'Do one' would suffice as an answer!

Well reasoned post, I consider myself a supporter first and foremost...this doesn't mean that I'm blind to mistakes and deficiencies - just that they aren't the all-consuming reason for my attendance on a forum. For what it's worth I do believe that Alpine is a Saints supporter, the others I wouldn't dignify with the second part of that description and at least one is a blatant skate. Due to work and distance I only get to see around 25 games a year and this forum is/was a good medium for staying in touch but it has been tainted by a few with strange agendas.
