  1. Can't believe nobody has singled out Savage! C*ck of the first order off the field as he was on it!
  2. They're all bigger teams to you skatey....
  3. Remember the JPS shoot out...? I often wonder what he's doing now, certainly added something special to our season (in between all the offsides :-)) Won't ever forget his Wembley joy either! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/the-rio-report/neymar-touching-gesture-wins-south-african-hearts-111251467.html
  4. P*mpey maths...the real figure will be 99.6% higher once the deductions have been reinstated :-(
  5. It's that Hamble Secondary education...eat your heart out grammar school kids
  6. You see - to my mind you don't really count as an entirely negative troll. You post multiple conflicting posts...granted mostly in some way attacking club, players. manager, management but in different threads you are dfferent sides of the same argument..hence I can't take you in any way seriously. Possibly you have issues, who knows? I think it's unfortunate for any forum that you attach yourself to (are there enough hours in the day for more personalities on more forums I wonder?) but posssibly you are in some way a Saints fan. This is something I don't apply to the two recently banned ex-posters...more obvious skates would be difficult to concoct! Also the other one that I mentioned in another post as having the personality of Michael Gove and the likeability of Joey Barton (no prizes..it's too easy)..I guess I've come to accept that infiltrating slime from other rival clubs is a forum fact of life, sadly. If you wanted to be liked and take fluffy, smiley responses perhaps you too should also try a different site..?
  7. Rhymes with punt...
  8. Of course - we have played some of the best football I've ever seen us play and the stature and ability of the players seems to be growing within the unit. Maybe there are others that could do this but why would we even look when we have a guy in place who is obviously respected by the players?
  9. This - the logical response.
  10. Pretty much sums up where your loyalties lie
  11. Indeed, yours are a public service to those of us who are internetually challenged! I only got in to forums when we looked like we were going under as a means of keeping in touch, grasping at straws etc so I can't comment on golden ages etc. What I did find is this...there are very few ITKs that have any kind of track record of success...ever. There are those that manage to convey their view with humour - it's difficult to convey the expression that you would use in conversation - but I've laughed out loud on many occasions and mostly on the skate thread. I've also discovered that fans of opposing teams take delight in posting as themselves, sometimes, masquerading as a Saints fan more often but they're not difficult to see through...negative, defensive, go on the attack when questioned, sneer about being bullied, adhere themselves to their like and sometimes invent personas to talk to them selves...I wonder why they would go on another club's forums? I couldn't do that any more than wear their shirts! I've also discovered that it's possible to nurture a deep distaste for a person or persons that I've never met...I could describe one poster as having all the personality of Michael Gove and the likeability of Joey Barton and I bet 95% of people would know who I mean. This/these wouldn't hang around a pub or club where they were so obviously despised but the internet gives that refuge, that anonymity so has it always been so? Have I lived in the 'golden age' or did I miss it?
  12. Good post, I can remember chanting some along with the vitriol against Lowe, the fury at Branfoot but ultimately (I think..in my opinion etc) the average Saints fan just wants to enjoy the match day experience, not be wound up by perceived injustices that we can't (and almost never have been able to) control. A winning (mostly) team provides that,,for me. Not sure I want much more say than that in the club. For me...with a couple of dumbstruck exceptions (AP, NA, NC sackings) the last five years have been largely like this
  13. Well reasoned and sensible response from someone who was there at the match... I'm not sure that I chose to support Saints all those years back but it's sure as hell academic now. It's in the blood, we've lived through some amazing ups and downs over the decades I've been going and if I can live through relegations, seeing a n 8-0 and a 7-0 defeat from the stands administration (x 1 only you skatechez tw*ts!), Branfoot's 'football', Lowe's return that can all be balanced against promotion to Div1, Ron Davies scoring 4 at OT, seeing Le Tiss play for 'my' club, '76, promotion, promotion, promotion, JPT, beautiful football - I know what sticks and I know that it will take more than a cup defeat that on another day could easily have gone our way (Villa match!!?) to make it change. It is fun (most of the time ...unless your personality or support of other teams dictates!) :-)
  14. My following of the club did not begin through knowing anything about who owned it, as I became an adult (ish) I became more aware and developed genune concerns that we were being run in a way that I could also still not give a sh*t about who owned it. That all changed when it looked like we may have lost the club for good...for the first time I may not have had a club, I could no more switch affections than remove my own legs so I became grateful to a man called Liebherr and the man who directed him toward St Mary's. Once this was done I could then continue my love affair (as deeply illogical as any other love affair) with my club...and enjoyed the ride as much as any time during my 50+ years of supporting. My point is - the club, the team that I follow can wear pink, drop leagues, lose the odd away cup game even but they'll always be 'my' team and that is not going to change. The game itself has changed enormously, we no longer play at The Dell, everything about the experience has changed...but my feeling for Southampton FC hasn't. Yes, I could be ripe for exploitation it could be argued - happy to be so as long as I have 'my' club. I feel like going to West Ham.
  15. 'We' being a few serial depressives, skates and WUMs on an internet forum...plus a few others who believed we had a right to beat another PL team away in the cup...yep the earth will move, the Torygraph might even shrink the picture of Kate and Wills a cm or so to make room. Get over it ffs (a general plea, not just you), as you and the genuine 'We' have done for decades and our forefathers did before us!
  16. I'm told that's where he looks his best...
  17. Read mine - the plastic reference is clearly enough defined.
  18. Words fail me at some of the fragile, melodramatic and utterly bedwetting comments on here - man up ffs, we lost a cup game that we could easily have won if JWP and Rickie had connected in the way we would normally expect...deliberate????? Jeesus, worst days...I recall wondering if I'd have a club in the morning not long ago, I loved the '76 Cup win, took my lad to the JPT and had a brilliant day out, but here's a revelation - only one team a year can win each of the cup competitions...wow, this year it ain't going to be us!!! I'm not shocked that the usual suspects are dripping their doom and gloom on every thread...failure makes their lives worthwhile and justifies their miserable semi-predictions and portents of doom...who the fluck would want to be them?? We have a great team, manager, infrastructure, I love the football we're playing - if I wanted a pot every year I'd turn plastic and 'support' a rich and established team! Happy clapper - too f******g right - I've got a lot to be happy about!!!!
  19. That is, of course, how the skates see it.......not calling you one, just saying - they blew everything, money, whatever respect they may have had from other parts of the UK etc etc for a poisoned cup win
  20. Should I attach significance in to the fact you post a picture of a skate goal rather than one of Guly's?
  21. Should I attach significance in to the fact you post a picture of a skate goal rather than one go Guly's?
  22. Would be happy to see him stay on a year's extension - really a far better player than a few on here make him out to be and yes, a key part in our rise!
  23. Tried and left I'm sorry, neither my brand new Macbook or my old Lenovo were able to access the functions...that's the trouble with targeting over 40s
