I signed -because he have me the best day of my footballing life (and I fully acknowledge Ted Bates' contribution to that) and the best season of the same. Had some real highs and lows over the years but I'd like to see his achievements recognised in his lifetime...and mine.

Just as a postscript - the Stag's Head was not very full, had plentiful screens and a couple of skates oohing and ahing for the first ten minutes or so - I didn't speak to them ( about 40 ft away anyway) but celebrated loudly the goals...it added to the experience - fun evening!

Stags Head and The Ship - both in Bowness are showing it...happy Saints fan - will go to Stags Head as it's just a short walk from my hotel. Thanks for the suggestions - COYR

Work taken me to the Lakes for tonight - can anyone suggest a bar where they show football in or around Windermere please? Have done the Sky pub check but not very helpful - would be very grateful for any help...happy to drive miles for a guaranteed showing? Thanks in hopeful anticipation! COYR

And back to what the thread is about.....some seem to have a problem in comprehending a simple theme or have far too big an agenda to cope? Thanks Les, a lot of what you did laid the foundations and supported the successes we had over the last few years and I'm grateful and happy to have benefitted from it as a supporter. I wish you well in whatever role you take up in the future, enjoy!
