  1. Count your blessings...people who drive 3 series with small engines are generally c*ck reps who deludedly imagine they're superior...quote from Stereotypesareus.com
  2. Deeply sad, way too young to lose such a talented and original all round talent...Rrrrrwik!
  3. Never mind, Hereford will save Chester...how do they feel about it you should ask?!
  4. Thanks for posting the pics, I drove past yesterday and wondered what the situation was with the different types of surfaces that were being installed, do other training grounds have that kind of detail? Looking good, very professional looking set-up for players, potential players and new coaching staff. World leading Southampton Football Club......!:smug:
  5. I was going to suggest Grafham as being a good option and not far away...Pitsford is also not far and almost certainly their clubs will run taster and starter courses to see if curiosity turns in to real interest. Over the years I've run sailing schools (sailing and windsurfing) and it's not everybody that gets hooked instantly. It's certainly, in my opinion, not worth spending too much until your family are reasonably sure it's worth pursuing. There's plenty of sailing that goes on not far from you...it's good advice to ask around, many dinghy sailors don't have regular crews for work or family reasons and a willing novice can be a real asset and for the novice it's free experience. Maybe the sailing fraternity where you work also? Not sure how you're fixed on family holidays but there're some superb schools in warm water locations with whatever level you wish catered for..equally there are equivalents in colder water in the UK. As before..happy to point you toward good advice. Another word of caution ...My little yacht is currently wasted as my work is all consuming...this is a danger in that it doesn't stop costing marina fees, insurance etc. I've got another on a trailer awaiting time to finish it off...you need time! :-) Good luck!
  6. For one million pounds we got a player who has been player of the season in two leagues, achieved two promotions and a cup win plus improved placing year on year in the PL, scored countless goals and provided even more assists, improved to the point that England took him to Brazil despite his 'twilight years' age...and in the latter years of his career you begrudge the fact that we sell him to his boyhood favourite team for four times what we paid for him!??! He earned the right to the move, we, Saints have had his best years and massive value and pleasure* from his service and have acted with dignity, acumen and class by allowing this move. You denigrate your credibility and the man's contribution with your mean-spirited and petty sniping..you show not an atom of the class both player and club have shown. * Look it up ffs...it may even be an option!
  7. When aren't you angry...or whining about something? Rickie Lambert deserves more respect for what he's done for us (and for the way that he has improved to England stature under our guidance) than you are giving him, wind your neck in and show some class!
  8. Couldn't have put it better than this, a legend who has earned the title! Good luck Rickie Lambert, thanks for everything!
  9. Happy to help in any way I can - have been involved in most aspects of the industry in my working life - was it starting from scratch as a family you were looking at? I sail for pleasure (as opposed to competitions ..that was earlier in life!) these days and I can point you to a few ways to get going dependent on your budget. Pm me if it's easier? It's a great sport/pastime dependent on how strenuously or leisurely you want to take it.
  10. Has been great for us and a great story within our promotion story. Much as I'm sad to see him go I wish him the absolute best...and pray that he doesn't come on as a sub against us next year. Thanks for some fantastic memories!
  11. Deep breaths...... Edit 'Doesn't make it wrong'*
  12. Thanks for that link. A good listen, clear on objectives, clear on commitment to go forward....I have no problem with believing the intent, I hope that the team assembled to take us forward can function as well as it has done under a new head - no reason to think that it won't just because it's delivered in a Canadian accent with some different terminology.
  13. Well thanks for that informed insight!
  14. Shame, thanks for some great football - move on!
  15. And one more time simple caravan-dwelling, fish-fondling, delusion-peddling pond-lives...they are NOT flucking shares! Like I care
  16. Er - with the spectacular exception of ourselves ffs:mcinnes:
  17. The good thing is that you can't hear them all the way down there...they're like a silent fart in a basement! If this is confirmed, I'd love to think it won't be but I live in the real world, then I believe we'll look for someone who is committed to our style of play. The board haven't come out with any great mission statements but I can't believe that KL won't want to honour her father's wish to play the 'Southampton' way... If the spuds were to choose DeBoer over MP it would be a kick in the goalies for him and might make him reconsider where he's well off but it's still all conjecture for now....sigh!
  18. One I've not seen that I'd really appreciate if anyone could find is our 4-1 demolition of Forest when they were at the peak of their powers...can remember Ball and Boyer being close on unplayable that day...any clever searcher please, I don't have the skills!
  19. You don't, really you don't. Most agree with this but there are a few prolific posters (who obviously aren't getting laid and need to! :-)) with agendas who the others can't be a*sed to educate!

  21. Good summary, thanks - very pertinent point that any collateral damage by insisting players stay is likely to be less than letting them go..in the case of those mentioned in particular.
  22. Another who played his way in to the folklore that our rise will become. Remember his goals at Norwich..I think we'd hit the woodwork twice and I was thinking it wasn't going to be our day and up he stepped.. Good luck to him wherever he ends up next...and thanks!
  23. Credit to mods and Ohio Saint...it's difficult to justify removing anyone and remain even-handed in your approach but the better atmosphere and general enjoyment in the threads that's come out of this thread should, hopefully, provide a model should it ever arise again.
  24. If he was asked about anything other than his one-issue high horse I suspect that both UKIP and Farage would flounder ....the others get questioned on the range of policies, UKIP just on race, immigration and the subjects that tend to inflame the Daily Mail reading fraternity plus both the closet and overt racist elements.
