  1. Antonio Rudiger anyone> http://latestfootballupdate.com/2016/05/southampton-table-shock-bid-for-german-defender/5805/2
  2. I have tickets - I also went to the 'Greatest Ever' show and the MLT one with Ed Chamberlain. My take is - why wouldn't you want to enjoy a bit of revelling in the memories, finding a bit more about people and the club I've supported all my life and generally having an evening of humour and Saints banter? Some people wore shirts, others didn't - there were chants, singing (spontaneous as Franny, MLT and many others came on) - this time it's about the legends that won the cup...I doubt if many of them (or me) will be around for the 50th so I'm making the most of it!
  3. For me the charity money, entrance fee aspect is less important - I'm glad it's going to charity but I'm hoping I get the chance to show my appreciation for a keeper, club captain who, as legend has it, turned back from signing for West Ham when he heard we had been bought by Markus. He was great through the lower divisions and is obviously a big character in the dressing room to this day. If I get the chance to show my appreciation for Adkins, Rickie, Hammond, Jack Cork and the myriad of others who played their part in that incredible climb then I'm even happier..it seems that many left without the fans ever getting the chance to show their gratitude unless they turn up in an away team which is more difficult when the result counts. This isn't about money..for the players or the charity - it's about, for me, getting the chance to appreciate a great servant and some great players, management and get entertained as a bonus. I really hope that there's a bigger turn out than looks likely so far although I've not ever looked at sales before a testimonial before as a comparison - I'd urge all those who shared the journey to come and enjoy...it's a few pints cost to get in.
  4. A+ for the good word :-)
  5. Thank you for this- A lawyer's perspective to sort out a footballing forum question shows how many permutations are possible!
  6. If he is going to assume the moral high ground he has a duty to disclose anything that is relevant to the electorate and the tax payer - if he wants privacy he'd best resign.
  7. Like MLT I feel privileged to have been around to see him play - RIP Dutch Maestro - thanks for the legacy we are now still enjoying!
  8. That's close...not sure I wouldn't have put Mick Mills in front of Clyne and possibly Boyer over Wallace and, with some regret maybe Schneiderlin in front of Armstrong. We have had some brilliant players over the years!
  9. Terrible decision for the red but I thought Lee Mason did ok generally. Cast iron on appeal I would think.
  10. Brilliant news! We march on...
  11. 'Kenzie is from the loins of Franny??!
  12. Kevin Bond!! The worst case of nepotism by proxy right up until the dreaded Pulis!!
  13. I'd always thought on them in a kindly sort of way...like a little step-sibling who needed a bit of help maybe. That began to change in the L1 matches...they invented a pseudo rivalry which I'd never thought existed...almost a skate-lite, manufactured, not really ever been there thing a bit tacky really. I thought we hit the right tone with the 'We don't care about you' chant....I admire their rise a bit, think Howe's done a good job but as rivals they might as well be Weymouth...
  14. What a beautiful moment...:-)
  15. I don't care about Leicester winning the title more than I care about us getting three points.
  16. Look forward to it....although I wasn't aware that there were any salubrious parts of his home town to venture deep in to!
  17. We'll win by a two goal margin but bl**dy Antonio will score!
  18. Great read as always - cheers!
  19. When he won it one of the times before it had a dire effect...we won 8-0 but it should have been 12! I echo the congratulations, in Ronald we trust!!
  20. From the BBC deadline day page Smith off to Pompey? Posted at 16:49 Neither club has confirmed this one yet, but BBC Wiltshire are reporting that Swindon striker Michael Smith is on his way to League Two Portsmouth. The 24-year-old forward spent three months on loan at Barnsley earlier this season, but failed to score in 13 appearances. Sounds like a standard skate loan - probably paying him a stupid wage as well:?
  21. My recollection is of their fans mirroring our 'That's why you're going down' after a wild shot with their own 'That's why we're going down' after another one :-) The Walsall game I was working away but listening to Saints Player and hearing the relief and happiness for both teams..sad not to be there!
  22. Interesting context to this thread - read on down until we get a mention finally....as most prolific crossers!https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/prem-stat-leaders-revealed-creative-123518305.html
  23. Allypine Saint II?
