  1. Only listened on Solent but we were being outplayed before then. Bring Gillet in for Rotton & find a CB with pace.
  2. I agree completely - last season he was prepared to cover every inch of ground & never shirk a tackle for the cause. His passing was never as bad as 'wotton earth's he doing playing for us' & he makes himself available as an outlet for the players around him. I regret he won't get to form the promising pairing that was developing with Surman...Cork too! He has a great engine & good feet - We can do a lot worse than build a team around him. His heart is pure Saints.
  3. 'Now five years later on you've got the ball at your feet promotion to Division two'* * old money!
  4. 'But even then he knew he'd find a much better place Either with/without Pardew'

'Portsmouth: not waving, but drowning' Pure poetry...albeit lifted! Do I care if they disappear? Nope...I don't give a flying cluck - any more than they did when we were on the brink. Saggy the twitch I hate even more than Lowe but he may have left their scabby skate scalp in a worse state than he left us in...when is the cont going to get found out? Unbelievable....(a great video btw!)
  6. The palindrome of Ipswich is not.....!
  7. Brilliant! Falling about smiley :-)
  8. And me!
  9. This is the most valid take....we're in L1 this year & they both (on the right contracts vis we're in L1) can do a job. We had our best run last year when Euell started the games...against Ipswich he was outstanding aside from his goals. Stern would need to be fit though...you can only belly in so many goals!
  10. Welcome Alan Pardew Time to get behind every part of the set up now & there's a chance for the play offs which, I guess, would put us a year ahead in the plan. Decent record for getting clubs promoted from the lower leagues...I'm happy enough! Can't wait for the season to start now even more COYR!!!!
  11. Oh dear me how sad! Should you still be in a job having failed at it miserably for three years? Byee!
  12. Now wouldn't you just love to have him in front of you......?!
  13. I think that there has been a general misunderstanding on the role of an administrator in this situation. Once he has established the minimum level of settlement that the creditors are prepared to accept he then has the basis of a price to aim for & is charged with procuring the best deal for them, primarily, & then the club as it is a better financial proposition for all concerned (including those same creditors in the future in all likelihood) if the 'company' continues to trade. He is obliged by statutes to review all bids & ensure that they meet criteria that satisfies the fiscal requirements & has, in this case, the additional complication of ensuring that the prospective purchase also satisfies the FL profile for ownership. In addition to this he has to keep a 'company' that by definition is insolvent running with such funds are available. That's a lot of balls to keep in the air & is, I respectfully suggest, why this has taken as long as it has & the route that it has. For their own reasons various of the prospective purchasers have gone public on their interest & this is not an unusual business practice but ultimately if there are several bidders that appear to meet the criteria the administrator is obliged to take them all equally seriously until the situation proves otherwise. He is not obliged to take the highest bid if it is not in the best interests of the creditors (firstly) that the long term prospects are better sedrved by another. Various stories will undoubtedly emerge re various aspects of some of the bids....they have been rife all through, for sure, but most will remain locked in by confidentiality clauses signed at the time. It is time to move on - in light of the buyer we appear to have I'd suggest that Mark Fry has done a good job for all the people he has needed to satisfy.
  14. He'd need a good rate for shifting poisonous waste though :-)
  15. Thank you Herr Liebherr - you've made more people happier than you could ever imagine! I hope the club that you have bought gives you as much happiness See you at the play-offs. A very happy Saints fan exiled in Suffolk (but buying a season ticket for sure!!!!! - & happy to be able to do so)
  16. I'm in Lowestoft...beers if it goes through?!!
  17. Er...yes - until the exchange rate has a minus sign in front of it!?

    Surman

Another committed youngster with his best years ahead allowed to leave - I think it's a very sad day but I can't blame him for wanting Premiership Football however brief the sojourn. I can't blame the Administrators for trying to ensure the future of the club by selling...the whole mess goes far deeper as I think we all know. I thank him for his commitment, his loyalty & his service to us & wish him well for the future - I'd love to see him back in a Saints shirt one day.
  19. He scored goals in a difficult season whilst still learning his trade fighting relegation. I suspect someone else will get the benefit of his realised potential - we'll miss him in my opinion! I wish him well...he would have tormented L1 defences.
  20. 'The players are all free agents now that the club has defaulted on their contracts' Not being paid on the day does not necessarily constitute breach of contract & certainly would not result in the players being free agents. Likewise not paying on the day does not mean that we are in administration! I'm as frustrated as the next man but there's some wildly speculative crap being put up here. The encouraging thing is that TL has never said that if 'this' doesn't happen then 'that' categorically won't & the language has always been 'when' it's resolved not 'if'. Keep the faith - as a businessman I'd be happy if he was negotiating on my behalf.
  21. I think you answered your own question! Rupert Murdoch is no friend of football & he also owns the Sun....next question?
  22. If he says it's happening then it definitely ain't...lowlife, saggy-faced twitching skate ****!
  23. Your sheik is a fake Your ground is a shed You're tainted by Redcrap (I wish he was dead) Your fans are all inbred They all smell of fish You're going down next season That's fact not a wish Gayderman's bankrupt Strange name for a bloke You're selling all your players But you'll still go broke I hate f***king Pompey Your fans are skate scum S****** very carefully Yours is about to come! Yep - I feel a little better! COYR
