  1. And the cliches will always abound:)
  2. I suspect debts incurred by the administrator would be the responsibility of his company rather than an addition to the mountain - again I'm happy to be corrected.
  3. So what's that - £85.6 million & counting.....
  4. Love the expression 'related Skate news'.... Yep, they are:D
  5. I didn't see the Tranmere game but this was one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen anywhere. When the whistle went when the second 'goal' went in I cursed him initially for blowing for the penalty...I was dead level in Block 35 - when the ***** disallowed it I was incredulous! He was largely inept but I felt that he'd keep giving free kicks to them until they scored so cheating is definitely something I'd level at him. The Gradel punch in the back of Harding's head he & the linesman must have had a near perfect view of - if he saw it then there's no choice of colour...straight red! Now some are saying he booked Harding?!!? Cheating barsteward aside there was much to celebrate today...ok only the one goal but Leeds were comprehensively outclassed & they looked competent as a team - we just didn't let them play & produced all the footballing moments...really a pleasure to watch from defence through to attack - it would have been a real travesty if the ref had 'bought' them a win. NB...this is my 50th year of watching Saints...I'm struggling to think of a worse one but there's competition!
  6. Well he doesn't say 'look you' & 'boyo' much but he could be from Wales:yawinkle:
  7. I note your smiley has a cap....does it fit then?
  8. Me too - I sent it to everyone I know who might even know a skate:D
  9. See - there you go proving that any sympathy would be both misplaced & wasted...let's just say you are getting yours & we're loving it! Here's a fun scenario - kicked out of the cup as having cheated your way there so no Wembley, kicked out of business for having cheated (amongst many others) the HMRC...kicked...no that's enough of a kicking for the time being! Bye skate
  10. From Yahoo link - sorry if duplicated. What chance seeing if the FA has the balls to do something the PL hasn't! 'FA Cup - Paper Round: Pompey semi doubt Eurosport - Mon, 08 Mar 08:45:00 2010 Buzz Up! Portsmouth's joy at reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup could be short-lived as the debt-ridden club face being thrown out of the competition. Pompey's victory over Birmingham at the weekend gave their fans a rare chance to celebrate as the club booked a date at Wembley against either Fulham or Tottenham. But the FA are compelled by their own rules - rule 5 (f) to be exact - to make a decision whether to throw the south coast club out of the competition because of their massive debts. (Daily Express) That joyous 2-0 win at Fratton Park has left Jamie O'Hara in an odd situation. The midfielder, on loan at Fratton Park from Spurs, is now hoping Fulham actually beat his parent club, or he will miss out on the trip to Wembley as he will be cup tied. (Daily Mail)
  11. Your brother & cousin?
  12. Yorkie said 'We have a great squad, some fantatstic individuals and a great patient fan base.' This, Alpine Saint, is what gives the right to criticise - Yorkie goes to matches & feels the reaction to the game of the fans watching both ours & theirs. I think you live abroad so obviously don't get the chance to see many games - fair enough - I live 240 miles from St Marys & work often seven days a week but see probably 40-50% of matches (a mix of home & away) so I get to experience the highs & the lows when possible. I suspect that you don't - maybe that's why most of your posts come across as negative or sniping...you even responded to this one because the cap seemed to fit even though no names were mentioned! I'm a supporter which gives me certain blind spots in my life...I accept that my glasses are sometimes rose-coloured - I also reserve the right to have the odd go at my team, the one I've followed since they last played in this league. To constantly whine, pick holes, post negative comments is not support - it's a depressive obsession that would be better attached to the bluephew down the road who deserve it. What gives me the right to say this I hear your question forming? Supporter...look it up in the dictionary! Rant over
  13. Only if they've paid the PA System company (doubtful as they didn't pay the announcer)....& aren't Robbing & Peter the first two parts of Storrie's full name?
  14. I also support the call for her to be buried somewhere where I & all the others who suffered her era (& to an extent are still suffering given that employment is still half a million higher than her celebrated 'Labour isn't working' poster) can p*s* on her grave. In another era still she would have been burnt at the stake...& I'd have warmed my hands!
  15. Saved your friend some money by putting the skate off his food no doubt!
  16. +1 - It would be like wearing one of their shirts...personally I'd feel unclean doing so. Not to knock those that do - for sure it provides them with several Edinburgh Festivals full of pure comedy - or watching a snuff movie perhaps?
  17. Classier than an industrial unit in Horton Heath whatever the reason!
  18. No - we'll keep taking the p*ss:)
  19. This is fascinating - I really appreciate the informed perspective on this. A couple of questions occur If the Chanrai 'loan' is seen not to be fit to add him to the list of preferred creditors does this elevate the HMRC debt to a sufficient percentage to make their own call for an administrator or will they rely on the court to do so? My limited experience of administration would lead me to ask if the administrator fee is geared around getting the best price (ostensibly for the creditors) as he would be on a percentage of an amount realised over & above his own fee - or - does he get paid based around the workload that relates to the case? Once again thanks for the insight.
  20. With worrying Thatcher tendencies sadly & a triumph for image over substance.
  21. Beckham?
  22. You have to bear in mind that they are all relatively speaking & the conversation is pitched accordingly:p
  23. This was the case at Norwich - it's not that they didn't turn up - they really tried to play football (as it sounded as if HTFC did last night) but we wanted it more, kept it better & stuck it in their net more regularly!
