  1. I would never boo a Saints team.
  2. Classic ignorance...enter a competition then decide to play by your own rules rather than the rules everyone else abides by....then bleat when fined even when you've been dumped out of the competition because you're not good enough! So very, very tin pot - keeps this thread alive and laughing! :-0
  3. The man was a genius, a one-off, an original - his style was his own and his later songs were as fresh and original as his early ones. He had lived and loved and had a gift for conveying his experiences in to words that resonated with so many. So glad I got to see him at the O2 a couple of years ago, it was a privilege to watch. RIP Leonard Cohen...thank you
  4. Is it on youtube or any other streams does anyone know?
  5. Freeman it should, of course, read! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/14874106.Saints_legend_Franny_Benali_given_Freedom_of_Southampton_after_epic_fundraising_challenges/?ref=fbpg A well-deserved and popular honour, a legend for us and the city of Southampton - Huge congratulations!
  6. I can remember corners being closed and a miserable night against Preston in the early rounds of the League Cup but the average attendance belies all the skate myths, They really are desparate!
  7. Two things really - I tried to find how I could watch some matches at Staplewood when I was in the area during the boat show and was told that, despite being a season ticket holder, there was no way I could get to watch so you can't just 'go to one of the U23 league games' Secondly...who do you think you are to tell people whether they should or shouldn't attend? If you don't want to support all levels of the club or the competition that's fine, your choice, but please don't assume that your opinion is more important than any other.
  8. Pretty sure they announced that the Liverpool game was sold out on Thursday at the Inter game?
  9. First time I've read a thread on there for a while...the delusion, the level of debate, the diminutive IQs.....For 'Dr Drew' it's like shooting fish in a barrel whilst having a healthy dislike for the fish! :-)
  10. I think you need to get to St Mary's more often
  11. I think the point about songs about the skates is being missed...we're singing and we're singing loud and derisively for the most part and most people join in where I stand in Block 39. Singing leads to more singing, it creates atmosphere and gets the ground buzzing. I absolutely love the 'WTF is laughing now' song - it embodies so much about my Saints supporting life...look at us - look at you, ain't karma great?!! And the Solent perspective quoted here is just wrong, not sure where their microphones were but the rendering of OWTS before the kick off made my spine tingle...
  12. It's their/his opinion...some bits I agree with but I wouldn't be as gullible as to take the article as gospel or to say either are not good enough! Martina has been good enough in some of the formations and against some opposition as has Clasie. I suspect the same journalist would highlight different issues if he'd seen the Burnley or Sunderland games...as would the fans.
  13. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/our-region/gosport/gosport-borough-chairman-speaks-out-over-hmrc-winding-up-petition-1-7653252 Is a winding up petition obligatory in the PO code area?!!
  14. I concur...Inter at home in Europe....sounds good doesn't it?!
  15. And on the game - sometimes you have to put your hand up and say...they deserved to win that. We did ok but not well enough on the day, plenty of the season left and a lot to play for.
  16. Eloquence combined with accuracy is something you may never learn...what a dreary existence you must create for those around you!
  17. A fascinating read - thanks for linking. Reed has done and is doing a great job for us...he has developed further and enhanced things that were started by his predecessors and acknowledges this. The SAD (Sneerers And Detractors) on this forum will always work to their own agenda...
  18. Good news - nice to see how all rallied around on the night and the interest shown afterwards...hope the recovery is quick and complete!
  19. Not working for me...
  20. Mick Channon probably the most successful, Alan Ball and Kevin Davies also ok...as a general premise I don't think it's good to return to a former employer but for Channon he was back near his 'orrses! :-)
  21. Nail - head!
  22. Proud of the team and the support - outplayed Inter at the San Siro and lost to their only shot on target. Sure it didn't run for us tonight but we have the class to push on and win the home games. We are good
  23. Good skills!
  24. Loving the singing ...thanks for the feed - not sure if it helps or hurts whilst being stuck at work!
  25. Credit to Madjeski at Reading for being there to welcome Franny and a large number of supporters, players...hope he stuck his hand deep in to his pocket as well!
