Just back - this was the match I saw. Brighton are not top by accident & they played us really well with some real commitment shown by their defenders throwing themselves in the way of shots that came at the end of some beautiful play from mostly Lallana tonight. It was also one of those nights when we didn't get the drop of the ball...when it broke from tackles or rebounds it more often ended kindly for them...you get nights like that. We played committed & skillful stuff, against a well-disciplined & committed team who had the luck fall their way on the night....there is no need for moans or requests for changes...yes we missed Chaplow perhaps but we played well...simple as that Nigel!

Club versus Country? A study into football fan loyalty
dronskisaint replied to fanloyaltystudy's topic in The Saints
My sentiments also. I am absolutely blind in my support for Saints I have far more in the way of logic driven discussion re the England team. -
But they still won't fill it!

He will come good...it's just confidence & you don't gain that on the bench....still our most important forward if not player (Lallana)

Lambert hat trick on Tuesday to kick start his season....he just needs a couple to get him going this year. We have good options but his class earns him his place & he's linking play, drawing defenders away even while he's not scoring. Looking forward to Tuesday & have a ticket...going to be a good crowd!

Go get some more:D

Good to read...stuck in my office but will be there Tuesday:)

I would suggest you write to the company (if you have a name then address it to the most senior person) & list your issues & problems & their responses & lack of solutions...ideally with dates...& then finish your letter with your contention that the service that is supplied is not fit for purpose & as such has been mis-sold. Ask for the contract to be cancelled immediately & your number freed for transfer. State that if an acceptable solution cannot be found you will take it up with the relevant authority and trading standards. I believe Ofcom are the relevant authority but this may have been changed recently. Ask for a response within five working days - that is more than a reasonable response time.

'Harry f**king Redknapp. Words cannot express my contempt for the man.' Like the man said...also agree that if he became part of the England set up I'd invoke my tenuous Spanish ancestry link. I also detest Wise....

Some extremely flawed arguments here. People who got their mortgages within a certain timespan & on a deal are laughing and considerably better off as is anyone who can pay a large deposit to get one even now. To describe this as a 'majority' demonstrates such a lack of understanding of the reality as to deserve the sack for saying it out loud! He's only right for a small percentage of the population of which I'm one - it's his maths and arrogance that are his undoing!!

feeling a bit embarassed to be a Saints fan tonight
dronskisaint replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Am I embarrassed? Sometimes for sure when we've failed (usually again) to do ourselves justice...in a sense we're in whatever division we're in for that season & I want to be best in that league...& go up. I have an irrational (possibly!) hatred of the fish fondlers so always want to be higher in the league than them, Bompey don't really register as their size makes success a transitory experience from time to time & then they find their level again. Typically though I'm as ardent a fan as I've always been which means I can criticise my team but woe betide any other supporter who dares to question ...that's not about embarrassment - it's too blind to recognise it! But most of all....I remember last year when there was that prospect of having nothing to fight those battles for...& I will always be thankful to Markus - yes & NC....for giving me the highs & lows that come with my Saints addiction - that is beyond any embarrassment. -
Remember this well...possibly Alan Ball's best game for us too...he was unplayable bouncing short, accurate, perfectly-paced passes all over the pitch!:)

Carlisle 3 - 2 Saints - post match reaction.

Listening to Adkins trying to explain it away...simple as that. Tactically naive but hopefully we know not to try it again...although Harding sounded dire I felt NA was blaming him over all others -simple as that. Still...all there still to play for still......... simple as that -
Fantastic....I'm sure he works for me!

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
dronskisaint replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
I think there is far too much being read in to all this by some....when MLT & various cohorts have done shows in the past nobody has dreamt up agendas, rifts...it's all about making money (whether for charity, individuals or whatever cause) by providing entertainment for those who want to buy a ticket. Noone is forced to buy these..there may well be a few of thes events in different formats so you can pick & choose. I quite like Mike Osman & where else can you get a comedic host who is a fervent Saints fan? I'm happy to wallow in nostalgia, clap & cheer players who have given me huge pleasure in the past, laugh at the anecdotes & probably shed a tear for Legless Bobby Stokes & that goal. This is the recipe for a good evening in my book so I'm going...simples (as Devon people say too often!) The new shirt is great..good marketing & marking occasions go hand in hand if the person running the club/company/marketing is doing their job properly. -
I spent a few hours there....it's a sobering atmosphere which brings the full horrors in to uncomfortable focus. I found the cemetery difficult to take with pictures of the kids & their families. If you Google further & dig there are theories that are totally different to the version presented there...not subscribing to them in any way but they give more food for thought. I really can recommend visiting...I too noted an air of hostility when a couple of teens spoke loud German but it may have just been that they were loud. My Audi survived unscathed anyway but it has English plates!

Nail on head....you'd need extra digits on your hands, a PO code or a frontal lobotomy to want your child to go anywhere near them.

Good luck to him...football genius who has never given less than his best! Won't forget him celebrating at Wembley either!

Two separate thread replies to you today Mr Gemmell - thanks for this one! That (if it does what it says) is a very useful tool!

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
dronskisaint replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
I would think that he would know all about it - it's hardly a secret from the world if tickets are on sale (not sure how long they have been so before the OP picked up on it). I would relate it to a golfing day, evening with Lawrie & Le Tiss for Kevin Moore on a bigger scale. On a practical & PR note it would be difficult to disapprove af a charitable function celebrating the life of the club...I'd like to think they would work together on it but that may be optimistic! Interesting too that it will be 126 years in 2011:? NB - I've booked tickets & would happily contribute to a Big Ron air ticket fund (or a general one to get other ex-stars over)
