  1. Both those artists on my ipod (I'm so modern!)...my daughter loved 'Boris the Spider' when she was little & her music collection has The Who, Led Zep. Beatles & many more 60/70s bands & artists as does her brother's. Certainly brainwashed from (genuinely) within the womb but they both have eclectic tastes I'd like to think were born out of hearing quality stuff from conception - they both go to festivals & concerts & see modern day bands...some of which I like too. Favourite Who track for me (one of many contenders) is the Woodstock version of 'See me'...Stones - probably 'Honky Tonk Woman' for nostalgic reasons...favourites are difficult as in any one from ten. twenty etc with bands & individuals who produced so much of high quality.
  2. I did Got in to my car just after 7.30 to drive to work and to my surprise & pleasure they were playing a Lennon track...followed by another & I started to think maybe he's announced a tour to go alongside his recent return to recording. All this was shattered when Dave Lee Travis (remember him?) announced in a crushed tone that he couldn't trust himself to speak - for those who had missed the 7.30 news on Radio 1 the dreadful news was that John Lennon had been shot dead in New York...I pulled in to the side of the road and just cried. For me it was like losing a massive part of my youth, a massive talent & a voice for my generation. I was just stunned & 30 years later can still not comprehend the senselesness of the act. I also accept that he wouldn't appeal either musically or politically to everyone but the fact that his music is still played, both Beatles & solo stuff, marks him as an outstanding talent. Lennon, in my opinion, gave The Beatles the edge that made them great rather than just good - his music lives on.
  3. Thank you for all the information - it's appreciated.
  4. Mine does...but she has been married to me for 30 years
  5. Superb...this sort of thing is what going to matches is about.
  6. You may be one who has the ear of the Sun & other press trash...if this is so then he IS talking to you...if not well you keep on like I keep on enjoying what it is we enjoy about this affliction that is supporting Southampton FC. I certainly don't want to change that.
  7. I don't disagree with a lot of what you say about extradition treaty anomalies - our own with Spain is dreadfully flawed hence the number of 'suspects' not to mention convicted criminals living there instead of Pentonville. The satellite transmission thing sounds a bit of a red herring in that with an appropriate receiver, as I understand, you can receive programmes from all parts of the globe (I don't watch enough telly to go beyond Freeview) all of which are going to have vastly contrasting statutes of law. It seems that the operative words in these cases are practicability & workable treaties...there is more chance through a EU treaty than that of a Middle-Eastern but if the reality is that the programmes are capable of being seen by millions it's wholly impractible to target viewability in one country that happens to have the law. In fact logic would dictate that if it were technically possible then the offended country should provide the means to block...much as, it appears, China seems to with internet content.
  8. This all makes good reading...I'm comfortable that we have an excellent plan to work to including the right people within both the backroom staff & the team ongoing. Why wouldn't anyone be happy to read this about their club? I'm just happy (particularly in the light of the dark months we had) that I'm reading it about Saints.
  9. Perhaps Confussious is the god of misinformation?
  10. Good luck to him..he did a reasonable job for us & gave me & my lad a great day at Wembley. Why though does he need to spend at the barcodes? They have strength in depth & a businessman running the show. Not my favourite person, Mr Ashley, but he's not renowned for spending unnecessarily...particularly on an untried in the PL L1 player. If he really is trying to raise the profile then he'll more likely go for an out of contract established player imho.
  11. £25 million is about what the consortium who bought Blackburn paid...this was for an 'established' PL club with none of the baggage that is attacdhed to that festering mess down the road. They also have players who would genuinely carry a transfer fee...not sure what the stadium ownership status is but I'd hazard a guess they're not about to be sued out of their own car park & offices! Even if relegated this season they would have one extra year over the cheats to fund them without the footballing debt. Realistically if a buyer was looking to buy in to the PL or FL there are far better propositions around...they are still fooked!
  12. Married?
  13. 'Rumours originate from somewhere...' Blinding!!!!
  14. I like good analogies!
  15. Oh dear me how sad , what a shame - never mind!
  16. That was a response to a direct statement from the Bournemouth chairman that was untrue & needed correcting...this is just some speculative rumour mongering without any tangible foundation...that would be the difference. Reply to Saintsforeva...I forgot to link
  17. What...& dignify that sh*t rag with a reply - I think not!
  18. Watch my lips...It is The Sun!
  19. Sorry for the delay replying to this - I had thought what cr*p - that can't possibly be the case but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction so I posted the following question to the Open University law Q & A section: 'If a UK citizen appears on UK TV and denies that the Holocaust ever took place (an offence in Germany) - could he be liable for arrest either in Germany, in the UK or by extradition to Germany' The answer I've pasted below: 'Categorically not. In cases of a law passed specifically relating to an issue of a national law unrelated to another member country statute or joint EU membership compliance the law can only be applied to citizens of that country committing the offence in the country to which that applies or those who commit an offence within that country.' I think that is concise but pretty clear - if a law passed by the EU parliament (such as the European Court of Human Rights legislation) or our own is broken then there is a case within the country of the 'crime'. Anything else is unrelated -so feel free to deny to your heart's content...just don't go on TV in Germany & do it!
  20. Or you could just ask them why they are now ex-employees? I'm sure they would bear no grudges..whou does when they are sacked?!
  21. That's pretty much as low as you can stoop...take the PR plaudits for resolving the charity & small business debts then failing to deliver. £47k p*ssed in to the wind if this gets wider publicity. LOL at Storrie's £88k...value for money or what?
  22. I loved the 'You are entering god's country' with the 'Saint' halo logo on the M3 sign that was there for years. Distantly related - we have a village near here called Walcott that someone added 'Poor Theo' to around the World Cup time..it's still there as far as I know.
  23. 'Yesterday was the 9th annivesary of George's passing' 'All things must pass' Agree on the sadness (& the tits & ass) - I listened to Clapton talking about the 'Wilburys'...he said it was the most fun any of them had experienced particularly when they were just jamming in rehearsals.
  24. No - but I had the option to vote for our UK representation which is why I find it reprehensible that UKIP having got in democratically p*ss in the face of the electorate who appointed them! 'My manifesto includes calling an elected representative of a partner country names'...I must have missed that bit...it wouldn't have got votes in a primary school! OK - again apologies for the format
