LOL...Cottagers, Jackson.... -
LOL!!! I thought you had been to EDL marches and yet you have the gall to make a comment like this!? I wouldn't want to be downwind of one of those (although the prison haircuts assumedly means that the fleas are mostly on their Bull Terriers).

I understand the scenario around the original post but we'd be atmosphere-less without the Northam. I haven't got a season ticket this season...I live 250 miles away but am lucky enough to have a job that allows me to get to 50-60% home and away games and a friend who's good enough to get me tickets when my decision has to be made at short notice (a lot of times!). I always ask to be as near to or in the Northam as I can because, for me, the atmosphere, the singing, the abusing makes the experience. I love the away games for the same reason...the nucleus of the travelling supporters is usually the Northam and our away noise, songs and support is excellent - ask some of the opposition fans. I've, like Benji, sat/stood with some real tw*ts...some of whom are the 'spotty youth' sneeringly referred to but I'm equally sure that many who do sneer were the 'spotty youth' of their day. I wouldn't deny it for myself..apart from my Clearasil perfect complexion. I've got to say, though, that my worst days have been where I've had to get tickets in less passionate parts of the ground and had to endure the 'experts' and the godawful moaners that you can hear because the area is quieter...I've come closer to lumping some of the old tw*ts doing that than ever in the Northam...and I am that old variety of supporter with 50 years of watching. Probably it's one of the biggest disappointments about seating as opposed to the terraces - at Peterborough this season I could move down the terrace when I got irritated...seating rarely allows that sort of flexibility. mongs are part of football culture & one man's mong is another man's uber-fan but they ain't confined to the Northam!

Never left early, never will...I want my money's worth! Seriously though I can't understand it ...for me part of the game experience is seeing the game out and applauding the players off...so many times over the years significant actions have happened in the final minutes - why take a chance on missing them for the sake of a few minutes saved in traffic? However - you pays your money, you takes your choice...nobody can dictate how you spend your ticket money time.

Appreciate the take of those at the game thanks! Stuck in my office shouting myself hoarse through the game...fortunately nobody close by - like I'd give a sh*t after the third went in!!! Got ticket and excuse to be on the South Coast for Tuesday...looking forward to it!

Just heard that Dickinson having to be held back from lumping the pikeys as he warmed down after the game...love it!! Bestest etc scrapping with their own player:D:D

Thank you...I went with my lad and had one of the best days out I've ever had. Seeing Markus taking photos, Waigo's dancing, PWFG larging the moment, just the whole joyous atmosphere will stay with me for always I suspect!

What's the difference between a goldfish and a mountain goat? One mucks about in fountains...... What's the difference between a constipated owl and a shortsighted gamekeeper? One shoots and can't hit..... What's the difference between a forged American dollar and a very skinny hooker? One's a phoney buck.....

Man with no arms and legs was waiting at the bus stop. Bus pulls up, doors slide open and the driver says 'Hello mate, how are you getting on?'

It's been more pantomime than documentary for several years...it just needs to be viewed as entertainment - not as an oracle. Who had heard of Tesla pre this programme? Perhaps 10% of those who know it's an electric car now

A guy goes to the doctor and says 'The wife and I have been ****ging together for about ten years now and...well, let's just say she's not as tight as she used to be - is there anything you can do?' Doc says 'Well, it's a bit of a taboo subject and she'll need to agree but have you thought about using the other hole?' Guy looks shocked 'Whaaaat -and end up with a house full of kids?!'

What sort of 'choice' is can't afford? Does your world allow those who can't afford to pay for medical treatment to 'choose' to die? Un fuc*ing real!!

Well done...fishing to see how many would take this carp seriously and you hooked a few. The playtime bell has now rung so off you go! -
I have one but it doesn't say 'Together in friendship' on it..just as described but with 'Claus Lundekvam Testimonial' across the top...were there more versions?

Are you selling or buying?

The comparison I was making answered the original point rather than the one you are now making. You reinforce my contention that no matter how unpopular an ousted party can be there, in a democracy, is always a way back in. It will be interesting to see what happens with a few by-elections and some boundary changes how 'tight' the coalition remains. It will be very interesting too to see how the parties view FPTP, AV & PR as the term of this parliament nears the end....I predict some tyre smoking u-turns!
-
So Major being kicked out by a 150 seat majority equates to Brown/Blair 'losing' to a coalition of two parties (one more desperate for power than the other, granted) neither of whom had a mandate on their own then?
-
My point was that 'unelectable' administrations can 'ever get people to vote for them again' to quote the point I was answering - you could point to the previous Labour administration as against the Thatcher/Major period with nearly equal validity...they were in a little longer but the Blair/Brown period ended with a hung parliament and were not defeated by one party with an overall majority.
