  1. Don’t disagree with him, however, will be an easy one for those who do to just disregard. ’Not sure I’d take much moral guidance from someone who killed whilst drink driving and allegedly bought his way out of a prison sentence.’ Genuinely think there’s a level of indifference towards taking the knee amongst a lot of players. There’s a group that feel strongly about it and others that are going along with it because it’s easier than explaining themselves or putting the thought into coming up with a better idea. There’s clearly certain things in UK society regarding racism that need to be addressed but broadly speaking, we’re not a racist country. Any impact the knee could have had was lost over a year ago.
  2. Starting to like the idea of the Super League. They can fuck off and take the ‘elite’ English refs with them.
  3. Think a loan with an obligation to buy next summer could suit all parties given Sheff Utd don’t look like a team that will be competing for promotion this season. Guaranteeing a decent amount of money coming in next summer whilst Berge’s value is relatively high instead of risking a drop off over the next 9 months.
  4. To be fair to the club, not sure we expected him to get injured getting down to pray.
  5. For the same reason most people aren’t sticking £500 on Man City to win each week. As much as they are likely to do well and win, the consequences of if they lose is too great of a risk.
  6. Don’t understand the comparisons with Bale. Gareth was doing it against Championship players. Tino is shrugging off £50m Prem players. If he can consistently deliver what we’ve seen so far and improve things like his decision making going forward, we’ll be lucky to see him in a Saints shirt in his 20s. No lose really, even if he runs his contact down and leaves on a free.
  7. Most of the Man Utd chances were from set pieces so guess the thinking is to give us another bit of height to defend those and Livramento to be able to track back and defend the right side in open play.
  8. She’s big, strong and hungry as well 😉
  9. Think this was an interpretation of an answer around new signings and replacing Vestergaard. Not saying we will see more new signings but based on rumours, finances and weaknesses in the squad, I reckon we could see up to 2 of: a young left back, a CB used to the style of English football and an experienced DM. Don’t think we’ve got any chance of a new keeper though.
  10. Feels similar to Bednarek when he first signed in that it’s not a massive cost, probably won’t be expected to start straight away but a bit of raw talent that could be developed into a good Premier League player. Had we not desperately needed a centre back, he’d have been considered a decent, low cost gamble. If we were to get an experienced CB on loan for this season as well then Lyanco would be worth the risk as an additional buy. If we don’t sign another CB than we’re in a bit of trouble.
  11. Go and have a look at the conversation. Can come across as a dick with some of his views but think you’ll find he was pretty balanced and fair. Find it really odd how someone’s views on a separate matter makes people jump to an assumption when discussing something completely different. Struggle to understand how opinions on LGBTQ+, Hassenhuttl, terrorists, Rickie Lambert and monkey petting zoos correlates!
  12. This thread should probably have been locked after @sydney_saint and @Turkish rationally discussed both sides of the argument at the start of page 4…
  13. I get that partnerships and individual ability is important but our best defensive unit is well balanced and more than good enough for mid table. ————JWP-Romeu———— Peraud-Salisu-Bednarek-KWP Two key injuries away from being concerning but would expect one signing soon and one late on in the window to help address that. Think we’ll be looking at similar style deals to Romeu/Bednarek when they were first signed.
  14. Could be something in this, Roofe scored from inside his own half last season for Rangers in the Europa League.
  15. If it’s £15m up front, reckon we could squeeze another £5m in add ons. Someone like Phil Jones on loan with a reasonably priced option to buy frees up a bit more to spend in other key areas. Don’t see Salisu as a downgrade on Vestergaard but would prefer to have someone with a bit more experience playing on his right. One where we would need to have everything in place before sanctioning the sale though so we’re not scrambling for a replacement at the end of the window and being quoted £15m+ on lower quality players.
  16. Isn’t it just our attempt to have another go after cocking up T20 and letting the IPL and BBL run away with it?
  17. Won’t the free thinking unvaccinated prove harder to rule over so surely releasing a stronger variant that kills off those anti vaxxers would be a better way of culling mankind?
  18. Quacked under pressure

  20. Not sure he was lying if that’s what he’s said. Very different to accept a 2 year deal at a club who based on recent seasons, would expect you to play 90mins each week and could potentially be relegated in those 2 seasons leaving you in a position where you’re feeling burnout and less attractive as a Championship player to get a contract extension or move to a new club compared to 2 years with what Leicester expect of him.
  21. Hate to break it to you but you’ve become old and/or boring.
  22. Southgate obviously thinks that lineup is the best way to win tonight but it’s not the only way and so negative and uninspiring that if we lose, it has to be his last game. If we win the tournament like this then brilliant and he’ll rightfully receive the plaudits but with the attacking talent we have, there was an opportunity to try and do it in style.
  23. My Great Aunt taught Mr Benali at school and remember him sitting down for an evening, spending over an hour talking to her when he was just supposed to pop in to hand out awards for my youth team. She called it footy and he didn’t seem to mind. Don’t be a dick about it.
  24. Don’t be another one that falls into the trap of responding to every post someone makes with a tedious comment. Despite the negativity, LDH makes some good points at times, so try and take each post on merit. Far too many already that love to bitch and troll based on who is posting and not what is posted. You’ve got loads of strong opinions (agree with some, think some are bollocks), don’t clog up the forum with another shitty feud that everyone else has to trawl through to read some decent comments.
  25. Can I answer ‘no’ to both: 1) Do you believe in God? 2) Do you disbelieve in God?
