Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
RedAndWhite91 replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
The fact the Orient players and fans were celebrating this draw as if it were a win sums it up really. We created loads of chances, and in the first half played some really good football. Like people have said, it looked from the start as if it could have been a four or five-nil game, but that's what happens when you don't take your chances... After Orient equalised it had all the makings of a bore draw. We resorted to hoofing and passes went astray. Barnard played well and was unlucky not to have had about 4 goals. Puncheon was noticeably average. It's a shame but it's not the end of the world. I don't understand the booing at the end. -
Good news regarding the dealing with youth players and the quality of youth players we're once again producing, nice one.

You're lucky, I applied as an officer in the Army, but didn't get in because of medical reasons.

Ahhh thanks Gaffer!

I chose to have a laugh in the classroom instead of knuckling down, to go out and play football in the time I should have been revising, and this is why I perhaps didn't get the grades I could have got. I obviously knew he went to Uni, it didn't come across as one but it was a rhetorical question, I was making the point in asking how am I supposed to achieve something like that without going to Uni. Unfortunately you can't get across phonetics on an internet forum. I could have gone of course, but I chose not to, it wasn't for me. My mate got the same grades and went and did History at Uni. Don't judge me by a post on a forum, I'm actually quite intelligent. Another advert for dumbing down Britain, no, don't be ridiculous.
-
Fair play that's a good effort. Did you go to Uni though? I opted not to, but now I feel as if I have no direction. Haven't a clue what I want to be or do.

As my mate says "If she's hard enough to give a punch, she's hard enough to take one". But in all seriousness, anyone who hits a woman is absolute scum. Marlon King is one prime example of this.

I got BCD last year and have achieved nothing since.

I lol'd.

What a load of sh!t that course is. We had two teachers, one I was constantly arguing with, the other I just spent the whole time p!ssing about. Got a U in my A2 coursework. Was well happy when I ended up with a D overall. Can't believe it's been a year since I was going through all those nerves. You're not wrong about the gash that will be out and about. I'm designated driver though, still, should be decent.

Cup win 76 + Keegan signed - Born in 1991 Saints put the sixth past Man Utd when Egil scored - Was only, what, 5 years old, but I remember watching the highlights at my old house in Netley. St Marcus passes away - At work with my Saints-mad manager, he tells me that on his home computer the OS looks different, so we log on the office computer and load up the OS and the news that Markus has passed away has been on there for just a couple of minutes. We sat there shocked for about five minutes, the rest of that shift was horrible. One special moment for you - Seeing Saints lift the JPT at Wembley - First time I'd ever been to new Wembley, first time I'd ever witnessed first hand Saints in a final, and first time I'd ever seen us lift some silverware. That, or sitting with my West Ham supporting Dad when we beat them 2-0 at St. Mary's.. Kevin Davies and Fernandes getting the goals. The bragging rights were all mine.

Last season against Bristol Rovers when they scored the 96th minute winner I believe I 'shouted aggressively' over the segregation whilst Brizzle fans were making poor attempts to climb over it. There was a copper next to me who simply said "Calm down mate, it's alright, I know how you feel, calm down, we'll do them down their place". I said fair play and moved on down the steps. Surely, in line with the P*mpey game, he should have arrested me for this little spat of verbal. Why the seemingly sudden change of police tactics? Incidentally, this copper's way of dealing with my 'aggressive shouting' was a lot better than whacking me with a truncheon, arresting me and wasting tax payer's money sending me to jail.

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

My mate was up in Blackpool on Saturday, he was wearing his Saints shirt and a Blackpool fan crossed the road and went over to him, and basically said he was really sorry for our loss and was interested to hear what would now happen to the club. It's nice to see fans of other clubs showing an interest and paying their respects, especially as Liebherr and Southampton FC has nothing really to do with them. We're not alone. -
No. One supports Chelsea and the other supports someone else, I forget who but it isn't Saints. Jeff used to have a kick about with them sometimes on a Sunday morning whilst our match was on. Jeff Stelling was our u.17s team's most famous 'fan'

He didn't just save our club, he put it in the position to progress up the leagues and achieve success. It's such a shame and so sad he won't be here to witness that, but his memory will live on with every goal scored, with every game won, and with every piece of silverware added to our trophy cabernet. I am am still proper shocked at the news, and saddened, Markus seemed a top bloke. Condolences to his family and of course, RIP Markus, gone but certainly not forgotten. -
We shall discuss this tomorrow because you are wrong. Would you rather have running our football club A) a businessman backed by a billionaire who has years of experience in sports finance, or B) a football man backed by er, well, nothing at all other than a bloke with no money who lives with his parents.

Is that second to last sentence a really poor attempt at subliminal messaging or something?

Fair enough, marry an American, plan.

In 2007 we drove from Kissimmee down to Tampa , then to Naples, then across the Everglades into Fort Lauderdale/Miami, was excellent. How difficult is it to get all the documentation needed to move to the States, like the green card and all that?
-
I'd love to live in the States when I'm older, I love it there, but I don't know how I would cope with being that far away from Southampton and the Saints!
