Post of the day, for me. Really well put. I don't understand how anyone can deny McMenemy's positive input to this club, and even if it was 35 years ago, it doesn't bother me. I am 18, born well after the success of the 80's, but I still recognise McMenemy as part of this club and I too feel he deserves the respect, i.e, a seat in the director's box, at least. To those who argue he doesn't deserve it, do you believe also that in 25 years time Matt Le Tissier should not be allowed a seat there because what he did was in the past?

From the Cheltenham match I only saw two players who could potentially be contenders for captaincy: Wayne Thomas and Graeme Murty. Both were solid and vocal, two attributes any captain needs. I do feel Pardew needs to bring in new players, and a captain in these new additions would be ideal.

Agreed. I remember a game last year (Can't remember which) in which a fair few fans in the Kingsland left really early, like 70 mins gone, and the Northam turned on them. It was horrible seeing Southampton fans vs. Southampton fans but leaving that early just cos your team is losing is stupid.

If you half the price, and double the sales, you get the same revenue. They should have done this a lot more towards the end of last year I think.

What kind of player is a Pardew player then?

Good shout, was thinking this earlier. I've never even heard of some of the managers on this list. Pardew is high profile, experienced in higher leagues and a solid appointment.

On the topic of breakfasts, try the large breakfast at Wetherspoon's. You can drink heavily there the night before, and then go there and have a fry up (whilst people sit there with pints at 9am, kind of odd) It's cheap as well. Ahhhh Wetherspoon's...

Sorry trousers I disagree, I think if we can we should go all out for both, fitness pending of course. Certainly, the League should have priority but a good cup run would do wonders for confidence, and in the latter stages of a cup run we need our best players to push on to the final. The fans and players deserve a trip to Wembley after all we have gone through, so we should put out a strong team for all competitions, 100%. See where you are coming from though, that's just my opinion.

Went to Ladbrokes earlier and put £5 on Saints to reach the playoffs at 4/1. Same odds on P*mpey to get relegated. I think Saints reaching the playoffs is do-able, and I hope we do!

The kit is on show in the megastore, saw it today and I must say it does look better in 'person' than it does in those pictures on the OS.

Let's hope we do the double over them next year then. I will be at both and would like nothing more than to see us do them over after seeing some of the comments on their site. Alan Pardew's red and white army! He obviously isn't held in high regard there and I bet he'd like nothing more than to beat them twice, and that will do me just fine.
