Great stuff, I like that
-
Get in, he is a top signing. And the only reason we are on the up is cos we can't get any worse! Definitely agree with the Hammond-Gillett partnership in the middle of the park.
-
Nicely done, glad to hear, and nice analogy
-
I hope Hammond has signed the damn contract and wasn't there tonite...

He was there tonight according to others on here, I sincerely hope he signed the contract before the match... -
Atmosphere wasn't great no. Didn't help the fact we couldn't keep time with those in the Arkell's stand, and so the songs we did sing sounded out of time and more often that not fizzled out into nothing. Had we banged in a few goals though, would have been a completely different story!

Is this a joke? Leave it out. -
I was confident we'd get a result tonight and we were sh!te. So I'm not all too confident for Brentford now...

A man behind me in the queue for the burger van inside the ground had one of NG's print outs and asked me if I knew what the tune was, I happily told him I helped with the words We had a bit of a sing-song in the queue, but didn't hear it during the game, probably would have if Lambert had scored, or if the 2 sets of fans in the different stands could keep time with each other!!

I will read it properly tomorrow after .comsaint's glowing review
-
Didn't read all of that cos I am too tired but get the general idea, and I agree. At the end of the day it is the players on the pitch who are making the difference. The players lose the game out on the pitch, not the manager, and the players did not play well tonight.

Who saw Thomas have a massive go at Wotton in the second half after a corner... Maybe it's not just the fans who are starting to get on at him.

Swindon 1 v Saints 0 Post-Match Reaction

It was dreadful! No creativity, no decent final ball. There was hardly any enthusiasm shown by many of the players, all I wanted to see at certain stages was a bit of passion, effort, hard work, but I didn't see it. Davis played well, Lambert tried hard and even Thomas looked solid 70% of the time. Wotton, again, failed to impress. My Dad came along to the game and he is a West Ham fan, and he was not impressed by what he saw, neither was I. Something has to change now, I am not going to start going on an all out criticising campaign against Pardew, I have faith in him and I hope he can see where we are going wrong and correct it. We lacked width and strength and at the end of the day we were completely outdone by a team who were most certainly better than us. -
Cheers for editing it!

I think I saw us spread the ball out wide probably 3 times in the entire match. It's not good, and agree about the playing backwards or just hoofing it up. There was next to no creativity or decent final balls, this is a problem which needs to be sorted as soon as possible.

Who is redandwhite92?!?! Sort it out; I was born in '91 not '92! Cheers for the mention anyway haha

Why did I not put a bet on it?!?!
-
My Dad thought it would be a good idea to go in the Arkell's pub or whatever it's called right near the ground, so I took off my Saints jacket and we went in and had a pint, sat out in the beer garden listening to Swindon fans in Stone Island clothing talking about wanting to do over some Saints fans, and doing a 'repeat of Cardiff', whatever happened there... I didn't fancy shouting too loud I was a Saints fan in there!

2-0 to Arsenal at Celtic Park, then a thrashing down at the Emirates.
-
Hmm, you are worried by the signing of a club captain, surely you'd be more worried if we did not sign anyone at all? I agree we should be looking for 'gems' but often 'gems' aren't the answer and players who have experience are, players like Hammond, as you put it.
-
:smt015 Boring.
-
Certainly think he would be a good signing and I am genuinely excited by the prospect of seeing him dictate the play in the middle of the park. Hadn't heard much of him before, and before clicking on the link to wikipedia I thought he'd be some 34 year old almost-past-it player who would be backing up the current squad. But a 26 year old skipper is an exciting prospect and I hope they wrap up the deal as soon as possible! It all looks pleasantly good.

Recently got a train from Winchester to Chippenham. Chippenham is the next stop 15 minutes after the Swindon stop and I had to change at Reading. It cost £35 for an off-peak return. So I reckon it would be around that price.

Er, is Southampton not one of the UK's most important commercial docks? And aside from that, what does it really matter anyway. I don't think Pompey fans would be singing about Rickie Lambert either...
