  1. I was going to write a comment about how stupid it is that a thread about a 4-1 victory has turned into yet another argument, but I will instead focus on the football. I was at the game yesterday and wasn't overly confident after witnessing the events on Tuesday night and thought our defence was really shaky in the first 20 mins or so. It was good to see us brush off those apparent nerves and the defence solidified, and it was also good to see us come back after conceding a goal, not letting our heads drop. I think Pardew has done well working with the mentalities of the players. Hats off to Lallana and Lambert who were both superb, I also found it funny that Waigo was getting a lot of negative shouts from people in the Northam, but when he scored he was suddenly a hero. It's funny how things work like that. Again, Harding was top notch, as well as our two CB's, even James impressed at right back, a position which a lot of people debate he isn't very good at. Hammond was solid and played excellent once again, and Mellis is still showing promise. I must admit I felt uneasy whenever Wotton got the ball, he just seems not very agile and looked close to losing the ball on a number of occasions, however, saying that, he did make a few good passes. He has nothing on Morgan or Hammond though. Was good to see Holmes make a cameo towards the end, it will be good when he is back to full fitness. All in all it was a good performance, we were lucky to get the first goal which was against the run of play but after we went 2-1 up I don't think there was much danger of us throwing it away. 3-1 at half time was a proper odd feeling! The Northam was fairly quiet at times but got behind the team when it was needed, like at 1-1 and 2-1 up. Brilliant to see us bang in 4, wouldn't mind seeing that every week.
  2. That's ridiculous... "We don't do singing" - Singing is a vital part of backing the team! Oh well, it could be worse, at least we have one and a bit sets of fans who sing, Watford have none!!!
  3. Top marks to the Itchen and Kingsland corners that are next to the Northam, but the rest of those stands and the Chapel seem silent, and my mate who doesn't have a season ticket and sits in all sorts of places in the ground told me that if you shout or make a noise you get funny looks from people - who are these people?! Do they not want vocal support for the team?
  4. My Dad has a couple of songs off this album (I'm pretty sure it's off the album, they are live versions of Doctor Doctor and Rock Bottom) on a tape that we play in the car sometimes and it's bloody brilliant. I got one of them USB turntables as well, would recommend them for people with a record collection.
  5. Great shout - plus I get 10% off at Tesco. Didn't think of that though. Nice one.
  6. Will probably get it tomorrow after the Saints match - what time does Game close on a Saturday? And will they have it in stock?
  7. C o c kney rejects greatest hits vol. 1 (great name for a debut album) C o c kney rejects greatest hits vol. 2 The Clash
  8. Sam Vokes would have my vote.
  9. If I wanted to see something that was strange, obscure and not very popular I'd go to Tate Modern thank you very much. What this horrific piece is doing in Southampton is beyond me. No disrespect to the artist, but I hope someone urinates on it just like he urinated on St. Mary's seats. Rant over
  10. Just seen on SSN that Pompey players haven't been paid this month. Grave times ahead for the blue lot I fear. (I don't really fear, I actually look forward to it).
  11. Markus isn't our chairman, Cortese is.
  12. Glad to hear it, Ponty.
  13. Probably best to get off the computer then and take a couple of paracetamol. It's a fair comment about the Itchen North. Minimising noise there is only going to make away fans sound louder.
  14. Pardew hardly had a pre-season. Pardew has bought in new players, Hammond, Trotman, Lambert, etc Pardew is adapting. He hasn't been managing at this level since 2002 when he got Reading promoted.
  15. saint_stevo answer the question! Don't ask another one!
  16. And who do you suggest we get in to replace him?
  17. As a season ticket holder in the Northam I think that more should be done to get fans in the Itchen North, not push them away. The Itchen North provides noise and atmosphere the other side of the away fans which is good and that should be encouraged, not discouraged. This is quite ridiculous, I understand your frustration.
  18. Sacking Pearson was the wrong choice in my opinion, but yes, stability is a good thing.
  19. Clubs that sack managers regularly go from the Premiership to League One in the space of about 6 years.
  20. Didn't think much of the Rovers fans who tried to climb the segregation, threw bottles and wanted a ruck!!
  21. And the award for the most ridiculous post ever goes to... Charlie Wayman.
  22. Are you seriously saying that the Club tells players what to say after a game?
