Even though we sit 22nd in the 3rd tier of English football, these are really promising and exciting times for the club, and it feels great to be a Southampton fan once again. It's a terrific feeling watching the team win, may the good times continue!

Course it works well, it's the actual word used. Noun Sotonian (plural Sotonians) 1. Someone from Southampton

A lot of them contrast it to their version of 'football' (handegg) and see our 'football' (football) as poncey and full of sissies just because we don't wear armour and clatter everyone as part of the game. That's the impression I get when yanks write on football videos on youtube anyway. However, I reckon if you let them experience some 'real' football they would understand just how great it is. But. That article has p!ssed me off because of it's blatant ignorance. The way they describe 'soccer' reminds me a lot of NFL - "Whole blocks of game time transpire during which absolutely nothing happens." and "men running up and down a grassy field for 90 minutes with little happening as fans scream wildly." I don't care about opinion - That article is bullsh!t.

I would start with Antonio too. I am not hero-worshipping Antonio, and at the same time I am not calling Waigo sh!te. Antonio played well against MK Dons and made a definite impact. Waigo has had one, maybe two, bad games but other than that he is a good player. I don't know how Antonio would fare for 90 minutes, as he seemed to be the perfect substitute; he came on in the second half, was 'explosive' and ran himself ragged for 40 minutes or whatever. I would start him and see how he gets on, we know he has got a potential decent ability at this level so see how it goes. He's quick and strong and I reckon he would put the O's defence to the sword on Saturday. If it don't work out, then we would have Waigo on the bench.

My shins get a bashing nearly every week, which makes them bruised. When we scored against Millwall I accidentally put my hand in my steak and kidney pie mid-celebration and that hurt cos it was bloody hot. All the usual really, I got pulled over the seat behind me which hurt my back... I think once I accidentally punched my mate in the face whilst celebrating, but it wasn't you Marsdinho! All really bloody stupid things thinking of it...

Yeah I like the idea of it, and of what Arizona said about it being like a game. I have often thought about those things you mentioned. That's strange that is. But then again, if you could choose, why doesn't everybody choose to be a multi-billionaire, why are there millions in poverty. And why would people choose to live in and support Pompey... I bet if it is true it is more like Smirking_Saint's idea where you are just whisked off to a new body, no choice, just another 'go' at it. Would be ace if you knew you could have another go if it all went pear shaped. I'd love to come back in the late seventies, or the 50's.

Orient; paying on the day sitting with home fans.
RedAndWhite91 replied to Draino76's topic in Saints Away Supporters
I'll guess not going by some of their forum posts. Some are seriously p!ssed off we have "taken over their ground". Here's a few quotes for you. "Idiots, they have 3100 already!" "Tell them to go and **** themselves, bloody scummers. I hate Southampton with a passion." "If they wanted to travel in greater numbers then dont get relegated. I bet had they stayed in the Champs last year then they would probably have not taken 3,100 and or more to hardly any game this season" and "See, told you all - Bertie Big Bo**ocks - Just who do they think they are these clubs. If they wanted big away support and better allocations well they shouldn't have got flamin relegated in the first place. And whats more, if Southampton fans are blatantly found to be in home areas on the day then they should be lobbed out on their ears with no refund" From the same poster. But then again, someone wrote this about the poster above: "OTH is a total mong. Don't even bother to read his posts. Oh and he bought his wife on Ebay." Some people do agree that we aren't arrogant ****s and that we are entitled to take as many as we can - after all, it is giving them money they seem to so desperately need. I guess its down to opinion in their camp. I know I wouldn't want away fans in the Northam if a team sold out their allocation, so I can see that point, BUT, the fact they are banging on about how arrogant we are cos we are taking over half their average attendance in an away following is complete b0ll0cks. We are just well supported. Whatever you choose to do, good luck mate. -
It's a bloody interesting topic, more suitable for the Lounge! I agree with what you said, I believe something must happen when you die, it will be a complete let down if nothing happens. A few of us had a bit of a discussion about it all on the train to Southend... It's well interesting. I reckon we must have some sort of 'soul' (not the religious type, but something different)... I can't really explain but it's like we are able to control our own thoughts, actions, ideas etc.. We are in control of our body and have been since birth, and when you die, what, does that just disappear? Maybe you can be reincarnated... Your 'soul' gets transferred somewhere else... Who knows though, there's only one way to find out and I don't intend in going there for another 50/60 years yet! Also agree Most Haunted is a load of fixed b0ll0cks, the only good thing about it is it's comedic value, like when he gets 'possessed' and starts being rude and swearing at women (see video above) haha.

That's a quality clip S_S hahaha

I reckon we might - like January earlier this year, never seen snow like that before!
-
Ahhh fair enough Yeah there was, especially the whole goalkeeper episode and the chants of 'Wimbledon'. I bet they get it every week, but made me laugh nonetheless. Supporting Saints is now good fun again, agree with that mate.
-
"Some of us together now!" Pretty sure we did sing it, then got no reply.... Perhaps the ferocious noise levels of the away fans blocked it out.. Hmm.. I looked over to the Itchen North and saw one man beckoning on 1,000 MK Don fans by himself. Wasn't you was it hamster?

Technically the players haven't been canonized by the Church so you may have to change it to "players contracted to Southampton FC" or something. Otherwise it is not factually correct.
-
Maybe we should just change the words to all the songs so they are factually correct. Here's one: A lot of us follow Southampton Over land, but rarely sea, and not Portsmouth anymore A lot of us follow Southaammpttonnn Onttoo victoryyy, but also draws and losses. All together now Or how about we don't change a thing, yeah, that's a much better option.

Now that is a very good point Berkshire Saint.

I shouldn't think any of them would be cup-tied (if that rule even exists anymore) cos it is the 1st round.
-
Haha it would have been quality if he had tried it... I must admit I did feel a bit sorry for the keeper, but it didn't stop me joining in the mind-games! Good shout about a code of honour there, didn't think of that to be honest, I just assumed he didn't want to give possession away cheaply.. I can imagine KD adhering to something like that, BUT, if we do miss the play-offs by one goal you can add my name to that e-mail!!

I'm looking forward to Saturday more than I am looking forward to Christmas.

Too right!!! And he should have had a pop, their comedy keeper was practically on the half way line when he cleared that ball, and he slipped over!

Is the Lounge more interesting than the main forum?

I imagined it was to do with something like that, fair play.. -

I'm new on here compared to everyone else, but I reckon there is a good little 'community' going on with you November 2006 Join Date lot which is cool, and yeah the Lounge is well interesting most of the time. I just click 'New Threads' and see what pops up. -
Anyone worried that they actually choose Poortsmouth and then the said city gets massive cash investment and becomes world famous as the city that is twinned with WDW?! Then they build a Disney Land there and it becomes the UK's #1 tourist location and then becomes capital of England?!?!?! :smt087
