  1. Did we not steal 'Jose Fonte Baby' off Palace?
  2. We're not Manchester United!
  3. And here's what Jeff Stelling had to say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1YXQzONXgM
  4. I got his autograph when I was about 9/10 years old-ish, upon him signing the bit of paper I said something about him being a quality footballer, and then he said thanks and signed the bit of paper again. Never understood that.
  5. December 22nd... RIP... Legend.
  6. Agree, really can't see us getting anything against United but obviously Wigan is a massive game which we have to win. Anything against United is a bonus. Still, looking forward to going to both. Does anyone know how many we've sold for United and Wigan? I know that tickets have gone to general sales but just wondered how many we're taking?
  7. Absolutely brilliant! Kind of reminds me of "Footballagent49" on Twitter. He got over 40,000 followers, he claimed to be ITK and an agent, people believed him, newspapers published his stories because journalists followed him. Then he came out as an 18 year old lad who started it because he was bored! Article about it here: http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/lifestyle/2012/08/were-fake-football-agents-transfer-rumours-any-more-flaky-usual-ones.
  8. Says Tancredi Palmeri... Got a lot right regarding the Ramirez deal I believe.
  9. I'm going to ask one million people if they could give me a quid.
  10. Morgan Schneiderlin fits "Mrs Robinson" perfectly. So here's to you, Morgan Schneiderlin..................
  11. I think it was more a case of him being touted as a future manager of Real Madrid, as opposed to actually being lined up as manager.
  12. There is an exclusive interview with Pochettino on Revista de La Liga tonight, Sky Sports 1, 6:30pm.
  13. "Mo Po" sounds stupid and is cringeworthy. IMO.
  14. I'm certain we won't sell out, but does anyone know how many we've sold?
  15. It was a game of two halves... (Sorry for the cliché). First half we absolutely bossed the game, thought Ramirez playing in that CAM role suits him well, he was excellent in the first half in my opinion. Created a lot and passed when, before, in similar positions, I've seen him take one touch too many. 2nd half was a bit more even, credit to Boruc who I thought had a quality game. Another clean sheet is bound to do his confidence wonders, think he'll only improve. Have to stick with him for the remainder of the season. Guly had a great first half, can't fault him tonight. Think criticism of Cork is a bit unfair, him and Schneiderlin have developed a good understanding. Once again thought Luke Shaw was outstanding. All in all, wasn't confident tonight, so I'll take a draw against a good side. Saw us lose 3-1 at their place and we've come a long way. We could have won, I'm sure the new manager will take plenty of positives from that performance. Nice to hear a few "One Nigel Adkins" in appreciation, but at the same time it was good to see a positive atmosphere inside the ground, despite obvious grudges against Cortese.
  16. Les Reed has been mentioned on here. Quite a lot. However, reading this, I decided to do a bit of Les Reed research, and found an interesting quote from Steven Gerrard: "To this day, I have no respect for Reed or (fellow coach) Derek Fazackerley. I was a young lad who had never been away from home to play football before. They didn't seem to understand that not everyone can board a plane, settle in a strange hotel far from the family they love, and find it easy. In fact they made me feel like ****. My homesickness worsened whenever I was forced to be in their company. I felt they could have shown more care and sympathy. They were always pushing me, always telling me to buck up my ideas." Of course, not really relevant, but does show a little insight into the man who a lot on here seem to be unsure of.
  17. When Pardew was sacked, we had those few games in between managers where his name was sung. People were annoyed at the sacking. I don't remember anyone being "up in arms" about Adkins' appointment though. As for "unknown Goalkeeper cum Physio", that's bullsh!t. I remember at the time everyone talking more about his two promotions with Scnthorpe and how he knows how to get out of League One, than his career as a goalkeeper... He certainly wasn't unknown. I went to his first game in charge, away at MK Dons. People were behind him, even though we lost. The memory of Pardew had all but faded away. I don't know if it'll be the same for Pochettino because of the success that Adkins bought us and because of the way he was ultimately treated. Pochettino was clearly lined up weeks ago behind Adkins' back and this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
  18. I think you have somewhat overreacted. Have a look in the mirror and I hope the mods lock this stupid thread.
  19. Absolutely disgusted at the treatment of Adkins after all he has done for us.
  20. Danny Welbeck has scored 11 Premier League goals for Man Utd in 53 appearances. He has played 14 times for England. Lambert has scored 10 Premier League goals this season alone. He deserves a call up.
  21. Such a good player.
  22. The last time I heard of them singing "you're going down with the scummers", they were beating Palace in a preseason friendly. That season, last season, we got promoted from the Championship. Bodes well for us this year then...
  23. Gotta love Liverpool fans! So he is off to southampton now good!!! the fact that the club is looking to the likes of norway for players is rather worrying. This great club and supporters only deserve the best and that means only the best talent will do for a club of this size and history
  24. Giving just 12 days notice for a rearranged midweek away game is ridiculous.
