Golden Raspberry End of Season Player & Manager Awards
Dr. Kucho replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
1) worst player? How about worst team, Bazunu AMN - DCC - Bednarek - Lyanco Aribo -Diallo - Moi Arma - Onuacho - Orisic 2) Jones 3) Grimsby 4) The Jones era, tactics, press conferences, training videos, the list goes on. 5) Aribo and DCC, really thought they would make an impact. 6) Semmens, Ankerson and Dragan for letting them continue to fuck things up. -
This 100%! I would add, 13. Giving Rasmus W.Ankerson way too much power and let him use us like a sort of real time Football manager. Someone who believes he’s some kind of genius and will outsmart all the other clubs. I seriously wonder what the staff at the club think of him and his actions. When you look back at the fans forum and see the body language from Semmens, it says it all. As long as this fraud remains here I have zero believe in that we can bounce back immediately to the PL. I can see us becoming another Sunderland and drop down again due to ridicules actions and ideas from him and his followers.

Well done Rasmus in conning Solak out of another 15 million so you can continue your destruction of our once beloved club. Is Dragan so naïve, or is Rasmus amazing at convincing other to believe his bullshit.

New manager scouting report from the Netherlands by me. The eredivisie this season is made up by 18 clubs. Having checked the current table all clubs, on the exception of Sparta Rotterdam, are about where they should be based on current squad and budget. So we will look at the current top 6 and who their current manager is. 6 Sparta Rotterdam. Punching well above their weight and being managed by Maurice Steijn. Steijn has always managed in Holland on the exception of a short stay in the Middle East. Bar his time at NAC he has done well at all clubs. Not a big name and has never managed a big club. Not someone we should want to hire imo. 5 Fc Twente. Doing reasonably well this season and have Ron Jans in charge. Jans has always done well in Holland but didn’t have a great time in The US and Belgium. Will leave Twente at the end of the season. Looking at his age and how he did abroad I would say a no from me as our next manager. 4 AZ Alkmaar. Pascal Janssen manages AZ and has just renewed his contract. Does well at AZ and mixes good games with very poor games. AZ is his first club as head coach. Prior to AZ he worked as an assistant or head of youth and several clubs. Imo to little experience to take charge of us. 3 PSV Eindhoven. Ruud van Nistelrooij manages PSV, his first major managerial job. Not spectacular but still learning his trade. Too early to manage us and will probably want to gain more experience at PSV. 2 Ajax. Having poor season by Ajax standards and sacked Alfred Schreuder mid season. Johnny Heitinga now manages Ajax temporarily until the end of the season. Performing better the schreuder but not having Ajax firing on all cilinders. 1 Feyenoord. Managed by the best manager of the Eredivisie Arne Slot. Feyenoord play fast attacking football and often win the game in the second half of the match. On course to win the league this season and got to the final of the conference league last year. If we could, get him asap. Though it’s highly unlikely he will leave Feyenoord, who will play Champions league next season, and move down to the Championship. Tottenham are interested apparently and will like get offers from all over Europe. My verdict. No new interesting managers, or who would come to us in the eredivisie currently as it stands now.

I can just see happening that shortly before the season starts Rasmus makes a statement quoting: We spent months identifying new managers however they were unable to join for the new season. So I have decided that I’ll be manager for the time being. At the end of the day I bought the players in January and wrote a book about winning and give Ted talks. Don’t worry I know what I’m doing and we will likely be promoted at the start of February after another 13-0 win. Sorry to bang on about Rasmus. Just can’t stand the guy with all his bullshit and how he has dismantled everything built over the years.
-
Most likely lose this game, rubbish first half performance, better second half but ultimately lose and another zero points. I hope the fans who do turn up, fully understand if you can’t be bothered, let Sports Republic and Rasmus know what we think of them and the mess they have created. Some songs directed at Dragan might make him think he has to change things or just sell up.
-
And then let mastermind Rasmus pick another manager after the successful appointments of Jones and Selles.
-
Jones and his assistants were terrible appointments and clearly didn’t have a clue. But they are correct that our recruitment of players lately has been poor to say the least.
-
That’s none of our January signings starting and just 3 from last summer. Great recruitment!
-
Nathan Jones now 4/1 to be named the next Oxford FC manager.
-
Try and ship out Lyanco, Bednarek, Diallo, Elyounoussie, Orsic (it seems like it’s sadly just not going to work out with him), Adam Armstrong, Djenepo, Bree and Mara. Then try and get a left back, striker but first and foremost a new manager. And don’t let Rasmus anywhere near the recruitment and scouting of players.
-
What or who is he? A conman, a professional bullshitter, someone who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else but over and over again proves otherwise or just a complete absolute fucking idiot? Surprised Solak has let him run/ruin the club for so long. If that was my investment I would be on the phone warning him that we have a meeting the next and that he shouldn’t be shocked to hear that the game was over. Seriously I cannot think of a way how to do a worse job than him. Every fucking thing he has done at the club was the wrong decision. Not buying a striker last summer, squandering money on poor/cheap players instead of investing in players that improve the starting 11, waiting with sacking Ralph (if you wanted rid of him, do it the day after the last match of the season), Nathan fucking Jones, the scouting department, the list goes on. The good days of Adkins, Pochetinno and Koeman seem so far away.
-
(W)Ankerson and crew are fucking useless. Even that fat Pompey fan with his bell would struggle to make a bigger mess of our club than this current lot. To an extent I feel sorry for Semmens who spent years working on a tight budget and trying to build a stable PL club. Yes he’s also to blame for picking Sports Republic, but we don’t know what they said during the takeover meetings and what they have or haven’t done. Now within a year they have wrecked the whole club, scouts and directors leaving, piss poor recruitment of players and managers. We are going down and it’s all thanks to Rasmus and his crownies. I have little faith in us going straight back up, even if we have the biggest budget of the championship. Sports Republic have bought loads of average players for little money, who besides of Lavia and ABK are the real deal? If they had spent the 126 million on 4 good players who would strengthen the team and not sit on the bench, we probably wouldn’t be in this mess. I am not going to start over the Nathan Jones disaster experiment. Rant over.
-
Michael Owen recons he’s the best free kick taker ever. Shay Given completely disagrees.
-
Eljero Elia has today announced his retirement from professional football. Elia was loaned from Werder Bremen in the 2015 season under Ronald Koeman. He scored a brace against Newcastle (his only goals for us).
-
Wonder what Dragan has to say to Rasmus this morning ( if they have a meeting). Payed Luton millions so we could get Jones, hands him a 3,5 year contract, presumably on PL wages and sacks him after 3 months. That makes it around 39 months left on his contract. Besides that he’s also still paying Ralph. Whoever comes in next, Rasmus is under huge pressure to get this one right. That makes me think he might play it safe and go for a manager with experience in the PL with a decent track record.
-
Quite the opposite going from a manager who sings hymns to a metalhead screaming death and destruction. Let’s hope his managerial skills are the opposite too.
-
Slot was never going to leave Feyenoord during this season. He has them top of the league with a way smaller budget than Ajax and PSV. I wouldn’t gamble now and would go for an experienced manager who knows the Premier League and a relegation fight. Not the right time for a untested manager.
-
If we lose he’ll blame the fans, the players, the kitmen, the pitch, the groundsman, the stadium, the tea lady, the away fans, Ralph, the position of the sun, the former Ted Bates statue etc. If we win it’s due to Nathan Jones himself being one of the greatest managers in Europe and an absolute tactical genius who can perform under the toughest of conditions.
-
This is going to be one of those days where I have loads of work to do, but will be spending all my time on here and Twitter waiting for the announcement that Jones has been sacked.
-
Rasmus and Semmens should have been on the phone all night to agents and potential managers. No time for faffing about. Sack him now and let Selles take charge. He couldn’t possibly, even if he tried, do worse then this clown.
-
Just a thought, maybe this interview could give SR a reason to sack Jones without making it look like they made a mistake by hiring him. SR could say, after the post match interview mr Jones did with the BBC that his position became untenable. “Mr Jones damaged the relationship and trust between him and the players of SFC that together with Mr Jones we, the board, have mutually agreed it’s best to part ways. SFC would like to thank Mr Jones bla bla bla wishes well bla bla bla” Just wishing we sack him sooner or later.
-
Sadly you were almost right. I am guessing his sacking will be announced around page 86.
-
I like the work Will Still is doing at Reims and what he has done in the Belgium league. The Dutch media cover quite a bit of the Belgium league and they have been raving about Still. However with our league position I think its to early for him. For now I would appoint a caretaker manager till the end of the season with the sole task to keep us up and install some confidence. Someone who knows the league like Benitez. Then in the summer go searching for a manager with a clear vision, known for improving players and getting the best out of them. Would like to see someone like Slot (Feyenoord) or Valverde (Bilbao).
