I hope this story turns out to be sloppy journalism. If Cortese does decide to leave, I would like to see him lead Southampton City Council or Southwest Trains, things might actually get done then.
-
Would rest a few players, Lambert, Schneiderlin and Shaw have looked tired lately. Maybe also use this game to include some youngsters in the squad. ------------- Boruc ---------- Clyne --- Fonte --- Hooiveld --- Forren ------ Ward-Prowse --- Cork ------- Puncheon ---- Davis ----- Lallana ------------- Rodriquez -------- Subs: K.Davis, Stephens, Schneiderlin, Lambert, Targett, Isgrove, Chambers
-
Lets hope the Wigan players all get wasted tonight, should increase the chance of Arsenal winning Tuesday.
-
If we beat Sunderland and Stoke, and results go our way we could finish 9th! Hope Schneiderlin and Yoshida are back for this game, a fully fit squad should be able to get atleast a point at the Stadium of Light.

Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
Dr. Kucho replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We didnt deserve to lose, draw would have been a fair result. Thought all the players did well and good to see Fonte back. If we play like this against Sunderland and Stoke we should be allright. Anyone know how serious Schneiderlin's injury is? (though Guly did have a good game) -
Where's Thevman? He must know if Shaw can play Saturday.
-
I dont think we will go down, 2 more points should be enough. I can see Wigan winning a few games, they always seem to mental at the end of the season. I think Newcastle and Villa have a good chance of going down, even after Villa's win yesterday.

Well according to Ed Milliband the problems are so deep no one can fix them. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/politics/4908260/Ed-Miliband-gaffe-during-Radio-4-interview.html And in this interview with Radio 4 he makes his plans errr clearer... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2316998/Ed-Miliband-finally-admits-Labour-WOULD-borrow-billions-more.html

Whoever plays at RB will have to face Bale, with his pace I would leave Clyne at RB. Hooiveld shouldnt be in the team either, Spurs have way to much pace and would tear him a new one. Clyne - Fonte - Yoshida - Forren or maybe Targett? Whatever MP decides, he has a week to prepare someone for a team with loads of pace.

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
Dr. Kucho replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It was a mistake to take Cork off, after he went off WBA opened us up like a tin of beans. Poch must work on defending set pieces, it scares the s**t out of me when the opponent have a corner or free kick. On the exception of Schneiderlin and Rodriquez all the other players were **** poor today. Thought the ref had a decent game, all the red cards were deserved (Fox and Ramirez, you idiots!). -
Glad we finished only 1 goal down, could have been a lot worse. Hooiveld and Fox together in defence is asking for problems, both have little pace and Fox keeps moving to a central position. We need to change now, maybe bring on Ramirez or even Forren. COYR, lets score some goals.

That Lewandowski guy from Dortmund looks pretty handy, 10 goals from 18 shots on target in the CL (according to the BBC). If we dont put a bid in for him this summer the club has no ambition and we should demand the board to resign!

Players who impressed you in the lower leagues who haven't progressed.
Dr. Kucho replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
On the exception of Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and this season Vitesse, the Dutch Eredivie is about Championship standard, with the bottom 3 teams on League One level. Back on topic, I would add Andrew Davies (who if I am correct won player of the season when we narrowly escaped relegation to League One) to that list and Matthew Bates (who I thought would be a decent Premier League CB a few seasons ago). -
SRL goal away at City is one my highlights of this season. Couldn't believe we had equalised and what it must of meant to SRL scoring a goal in the PL. If we can finish between 10th and 13th, the players remain injury free and Lambert stays topscorer of the English players, I would give this season a 9/10.

Whoever wrote this article hasnt done his or her research, Dutch winger Steve de Ridder, Guly falling out? I thought he was injured. If we were to release/put players on the transfer list the 15 players would be: De Ridder, Lee, Hammond, Sharp, Chaplow, Butterfield, Forte, Forecast, Dickson, Barnard, Seaborne, Richardson and some academy players. Cant see us selling Mayuka after paying 6 million? for him last summer.

Dale Jennings, who played for Tranmere when we were in League One. Now at Bayern Munich II, who play in the German 3rd division. -
I remember when Suarez bit the PSV player, was big news in the Netherlands. Cant stand the guy he is a utter pr*t, though even after all the diving, cheating and biting, my Ajax supporting mates still love him and defend his actions:? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_Zbk0gHwtM

Swansea 0-0 SAINTS // Post-Match Reaction
Dr. Kucho replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Pleased with a point, Swansea looked dangerous everytime they went forward, though we also had some good chances. Once we are mathematically safe, I think we should start resting some first team players and playing some youngsters, Rickie, Morgan and Shaw are starting to look tired. Looking forward to the West Brom game, we should win that one. -
Swansea are amazing and cant do a thing wrong! Chico, Dyer, Williams should be playing for Barcelona, Swansea are soooo good on the ball.... Southampton are frustrating. (According to the commentators on the stream I am watching, what a bunch of knobheads)

SAINTS 1-1 West Ham // Post-Match Reaction
Dr. Kucho replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Thanks for the video. The highlights do show we have to work on our defending at set pieces and balls in to the box. We have 2 great full backs in Clyne and Shaw, and with Yoshida a decent CB, it just shows we need a commanding CB next to Yoshida (like often stated on here). -

1 point closer to safety. Poor game, though we did play some good stuff at times. Still work to do on set pieces on the training ground, defending and attacking them. Tough away game next week against Swansea, can Schneiderlin play? I thought he was close to a 1 match ban with the yellow cards he picked up this season. -
A little worried that we dont have much pace with that line up. Would have liked to have seen Puncheon on the right and what has happened to Fonte? Imo Fonte should be ahead of Hooiveld in the starting line up. COYR, lets make it 4 wins in a row.

Arsenal fan told me Shaw and Clyne wil go to them for 10 mil in the summer, I tried not to lol to loud. Cant see anyone leaving this summer, now we are in the PL dealing with Cortese must be hard for even the most experienced negotiator. Dont think we will many signings this summer, didnt Corteses say he wanted half the team to be from the academy, and didnt he get MP because he is known for bringing in youngsters? Would like to see us go for young talented English players (like we did with Clyne, Rodriquez and Cork), as I think the majority of the players in the team should be English.
