  1. You normally talk **** but this is correct. You couldn't replace him.
  2. It's taken off. Not took. We were dominating the game and changed around to consolidate/keep the ball with nothing whatsoever going above knee height after he came off. He got a little rest because he's it's so crucial he's fit for the run in IMO.
  3. Yet he keeps playing and we keep winning.
  4. Yawn. Players who consistently score goals in the 2nd tier are all **** aren't they. Dear oh dear.
  5. 25. Grew up in Droxford in the Meon Valley, now Southampton. First game (I think) 4-0 win V Boro at the Dell 1996. I think Tiss scored twice and Ravanelli missed a pen. Still one of the worst pens I've seen to date. Glad the thread has carried on, interesting to see the average age being higher than I expected.. Sorry fellas!
  6. Tell him to slap Lambourghini across the page in capitals and put his feet up for the evening.
  7. Fair play to you. Agree with most of the posters on here. Relationships hinge predominantly on compatibility of personalities. There are so many girls out there who will be wrong for you and you've found one that might be right. So try your hardest to make it work irrespective of her condition or past. You are clearly more open minded than some who have posted on this. You don't have to be the original poster to find some peoples responses pretty hideous. Also, as mentioned by someone else, why not get the views of a bunch of strangers on such an issue? Tough one to talk to family/the girl about maybe, and if your mates were no use then I think it's fair to post this if you can handle some people not sugar coating their answers as has been the case.
  8. Didn't expect anything like it? What, 14500 gypsies filing into Fratton to make their.. Wait for it.. 3rd highest home attendance of the season. Classic stuff. I can only assume this is a joke. He'll make a big whack of a pay day out of this and doesn't want to be the big bad enemy in the next few months so I can see why he said this but at least say something that COULD be sincere! 'fans, staff and players should be genuinely proud'.. Excellent amusement. I'm relishing every little bit of media coverage that comes out of that hell hole. Is it in a bitter twisted, want them to suffer way you may ask? F**king yes.
  9. Bothroyd, Nugent and Campbell. If these guys can get in squads so can Lambert. The question is whether SFC want or need the hype that would inevitably surround this, a quick turn around from League 1 to the national squad would get all sorts of horrible little journalists in his face. We don't need that IMO.
  10. Bit annoying.. That said I am subscribing to the forget about WHU and stay just above the rest in 2nd philosophy same as most.. Lets hope Forest dont just roll over as usual v birmingham on saturday. And a Boro Reading draw would be lovely!
  11. I'll be crying with joy at the thought I can finally shrug off those memories of Bristol Rovers away in Feb '08 in the FA Cup, the last time I booed the team off the pitch, when I realised it was going to be a long long road back to where I had taken for granted SFC would stay.
  12. Education is not necessarily positively correlated with earnings. HTH.
  13. No, just said on SSN that a warrant had been issued to cut off gas/electricity at the stadium.
  14. Not to mention disregard for payments to charity, HMRC, local small businesses and Portsmouth city council. It's truly disgusting. I can't see how 'administration' can be the answer. I'm not a corporate tax lawyer but I find it unreal to think this is a business that's not being wound up. Once is forgivable, twice should be goodbye and good riddance.
  15. Does anyone remember that time when a tongue in cheek funny thread descended into every post containing the word mong? Then descend a little more? I suggest a rivalry with Rangers. I've heard they're going to go from strength to strength over the next few seasons, we'll have our work cut out.. ?
  16. I'm horrified to read that, it's truly tragic. SFC had more shots on and off target and 54% possession. Most people I know happen to use the BBC for their football reports etc and this is just plain and simple bias. The fact all the media so badly want to harp on about WHU being back in the big time yadda yadda is fine but not to the extent that an impartial organisation can produce an article like that. The BBC site is so poor since the changes, which I can only assume is down to cost cutting measures. The stats at the bottom are contradictory to the report!
  17. Exactly. I am not the confrontational type but know wrong from right. I also know that attempting conversation with some ignorant muppet who doesn't know the difference between a black man and a monkey or know the social implication and illegality of suggesting a black footballer should be 'given a bannana' is going to lead to at best an abusive response, at worst a whack. I wouldn't consider myself weird for this.
  18. Take care when writing a thread title, HTH
  19. If these really are your views I suggest voicing them as little as possible over the course of your life may be advisable.
  20. I went to a Saints Spurs game with my parents when I was younger and some nasty **** started chanting Nazi songs about Spurs fans belonging in concentration camps. My mum was the only person out of scores of people who heard this to say anything to him telling him relatively politely to be quiet and keep views to himself. She got told by him in no uncertain terms where to go and he continued chanting. The stewards were no help when told, just shrugging their shoulders as they didn't want the hassle of dealing with the situation. Shouting at a black man about bananas isn't casual racism at all, it's blatant in your face abuse. Anyone suggesting this is acceptable behaviour is just winding others up for the sake of it or living in the 1970's.
  21. Zero defensively?! I believe I watch a different Hammond! Consistently tracks back and makes important tackles for me but each to their own. I can understand people seeing the future favourites at a higher level being Morgan and Cork but Hammond bashing is a little harsh IMO.
  22. Did anyone else feel that we were just a little more direct and purposeful yesterday? More passes forwards and a better awareness from the players of when to knock one a little longer and when to play down the flanks right from KD. Also aided by Burnley being unable to get close enough to Fox and Richarsdson to nip attacks in the bud like teams have been doing so effectively against us recently, Leicester being the best example. Martin has been good but yesterdays result was aided by the return of Hooiveld who was a man mountain and was my second MOTM after Lambert who looked like a prem striker yesterday. Another positive was Lallanas best performance in a long while, indeed he seemed to me to look fitter and hungrier than he has over the past few months. On this mornings reflection what a huge win this may prove to be come the final weeks of the season.
  23. Absolutely brutal on Hammond, such a good CM option and has the most overlooked passing ability of the whole squad IMO
  24. Aren't a lot of the arguments on here symptomatic of a society wide problem, a lack of respect for authority, self respect and decency. A copper gets whacked by a drunk moron outside a football ground and people immediately take the viewpoint that the copper in question must've been the one in the wrong. Bit sad really. Brief moan over.

    Adkins

Exactly. He's showing every sign that he is going to lead a newly promoted team to finish no worse than 6th in the Championship. Not enough people are looking at the wider picture IMO. I'm hugely impressed with him since arriving and would have genuinely imagined every saints fan thought the same.. Until I saw some comments on this thread! In Adkins we trust.. Surely?!
