was at the game and yes he did give away possesion to much in the first half but i think you have to remember guly was suppose to play infront of him. again for the first 30mins of the first half he offered no width or ball down the line, he kept wanting to come more in midfeild untill nigel yet again yelled out him to stay wide and eventually swapped him over with fe for the last 15min. for me butterfeild would be my number 1 still.

tbh we had some were very good chances. barnard, fonte, lambert and forte all had good chances to score with headers. guly on the volley. lambert with a strike from outside the box. forte when through on goal stabbing it wide. forte with another header at far post. on another day we could have won 3/4-0. -

he was a bloody idiot for trying to catch it, why? what was the point to let bristol take the throw in quickly? it was completely foolish and stupid of him. -

just wanna say i thought david connelly did really well. when he came on linked up well work hard and for me was the reason we finally broke down the gas he passed to ball through and along the ground. -

ungreatfull barstards, davis imo is the best keeper in this league. i honestly wouldnt replace him with anyone else from this league thankyou.
-
can'y play for us this season as he signed outside the transfer window.
-
no i beleive we will be promoted before then maybe even before the plymouth game.
-
i would plum for davis frazer fonte jaidi dickson forte hammond chaplow lallana barnard lambert bart, butterfield, seaborne, harding, guly, gobern, connelly if lallana isnt fit then harding at left back dickon pushed into midfield. i would have played stephens ahead of chaplow but i'm guessing he now won't be fit.

Saints v Charlton post match thread....

played well in what was a pretty comfortable game for us in the end. always nervy when only 1-0 but as soon as we went 2-0 up never doubt. keeper can only remember davis having to make one save and thought his communication and sweeping up any long balls over the defence deserves a mention tonight, he played well. defence. was not only solid and comfortable but started atcks well from the back. both full backs played great. frazer did well even tho he had very little help from guly in first half at times (adkins was not happy with guly postioning or lack of traking back). dickson my MoM did well not only in supporting lallana but once he went off and was up agaisnt the big forward noble and wagstaff both whom got nothing out of him, brilliant defensively. jaidi and fonte were rocks and won nearly everything in the air and covered each other well. midfeild lallana did geat amount of running first half and was always our outball from defence just the final ball was lacking at times. hammond sat in midfeild and kept the game ticking over and broke up charltons play well. stephans although got caught a couple of time looked good and was never rushed in his play always trying to get the ball out wide and if it wasnt on would the pass to fullbacks retaining possesion. guly scored but for me was our worset performer tonight. left frazer exposed at time in first half (charlton had a great chance crossed low from the left early in first have because he didnt close down thier left back quick enough). he dosnt even go up for headers and was not in the game as mcas he could have been. second he improved alittle. fowards barnard ran and worked hard yet again and linke up the foward line with midfeild well. was getting kicked of the ball alot and reacted but thankfully kept his head. lambert his link up play was fantastic lovely passes with the outside of his foot to barnard for first goal. would peel off to the flanks and was always a good out ball too. rarely gave the ball away. Fans great noise in the first half tailed of in the second though and was not as noisey after 80 mins on clock. -
although i think we should play our most strongest squad and get the points on the board asap to put the pressure on huddersfeild but maybe we should replace jaidi with either martin or seabourne in order to save him for the much harder away game at the weekend. maybe dop chaplow or guly for forte or dale? what ever the line up they should be focused and good enough to win. just hope defense tightens up abit and don't lose concentration again. might be another frustrating game with a 10man defense sitting deep so we home fans must continue the great support and not get on the players back or give up early. for me i would play Davis Butters Fonte Seaborne Harding Forte Chaplow Hammond Lallana Lambert Barnard

i do leave early. normally on the 89/90 min mark or say 2 minute into a 5min extra time, if were ahead by 2goals or i'm confidant the game looks to be petering out. the reason is i am very lucky enough to have someone willing to drop me off and pick me up outside the stadium and by leaving the few minutes before thousands of other home fans it can mean the deffernce of not getting caught in traffic for 30+minutes and being even more of a inconvience to my lift. fact is people pay their money its their choice when they want to leave, i always thought the people who decide after only 10mins into each half to either go to the toilet or go stuff their face with food and drink were more annoying.

i can see them losing the next three and the game against brighton, remember in this league no result is unlikely.
