Obviously the reality is not quite as clear cut as you would have it - Lallana and Lambert only achieved their stats by virtue not only of their talent, but the work of the other players in the team. I agree they are a big miss, and will hopefully be replaced by equivalent (or better) players - but I still don't equate their absence with certain relegation. That is way too simplistic.

So basically you are saying that losing Lallana and Lambert have effectively doomed us to relegation, because without them the side have no goals or creativity. Maybe so, but I think you do the others a disservice. The reality is that we will be replacing those two anyway hopefully.

They cannot pay wages in excess of ours. Finances aren't so great at Everton, and being in the Europa League is no big earner unless you get to the latter stages. Whether or not it is an attractive option for potential signings - not so sure.

I don't think it's a case of "no doubt". That team would be competitive - it's the overall squad and ability to ride out injuries that is the issue.

Doesn't that kinda presume that there will even be a fee paid? I may have missed something, but as far as I can tell there is nothing to suggest its close to being a done deal.

Relegation fights are depressing in the extreme, not exciting. Anyone who thinks otherwise have short memories. There is nothing exciting about losing week in, week out. The only positive aspect of a relegation fight is the euphoria you feel if you scrape out of it (a la Sunderland). No thanks - I'll take "safe by March" all day long.
