  1. didnt something very similar happen against Everton last time we got relegated? Bent scored in the last minute I seem to remember... Of course we CAN go and beat Swansea. It just all feels very two thousand and fivey
  2. Celebrating the most successful PL season in our history by losing a manager and our two top scorers, and replacing them with mediocrity. It has all been downhill from there.
  3. Several asterisks.
  4. Thank ****. As others have said, it's way too late, but it's given us a chance.

How is he still here!? Seriously WHAT IS GOING ON?!

    Pellegrino OUT

He just has to go. By no means is he the only problem, but it's the problem that it is the quickest to fix which is likely to have the biggest impact. A few weeks ago I was of the opinion that it was too late to get rid of him, and I was resigned to the fact he was going to stay anyway. After today however I just don't see the logic in keeping him anymore. If he stays, we go down. Why not get someone else in who might at least give the team a chance of staying up? If we still go down it was worth the risk imho
  7. Surely that can't ever have happened before? Yet another Saints PL record for MP to put on his Mum's fridge. Bizarrely I feel quite optimistic about this one. We're so much better away from home. I reckon we'll thrash them 1-1.
  8. This is dreadful. Again. Stoke look much more likely to score.
  9. Rubbish performance, boring game, dodgy in the centre of defence, crap in attack but scraped a decent point.
  10. The guy is crying out for someone to play alongside. How on earth can Pellegrino not see this?
  11. Lambert, Mané, Alderweireld, M Svensson. Pochettino. Line up would be: Cedric - Killer - Toby - Bertrand Lemina - Romeu - Højbjerg Mané - Lambert - Tadic With plenty of talent in reserve.
  12. De Bruyne is the best player in the league obviously, but we need a finisher so Kane for me.
  13. Blimey. Don't fancy us against this lot!
  14. Some comedic defending from our CBs again there. We look comfortable (if not inspiring) in every area of the pitch apart from the middle of defence.
  15. wiziwig.to link 1 for our game is perfect for me atm

    Pellegrino OUT

He won't go. The club are too invested in their own hype to admit they've made a series of errors over the last two years which have essentially undone all the good work of the previous six. You have to look at it from Reed's arrogant point of view, because keeping MP in charge and hoping we stay up is his best chance to save face. Scenario one) MP is sacked. Reed has to admit to making a mistake. New manager has no time, we go down, Reed is proved to have made a mistake. Scenario two) We keep faith with MP and we go down. Reed is proved to have made a mistake. Scenario three) MP is sacked. Reed has to admit to making a mistake. New manager keeps us up but focus is still on why it took so long. Scenario four) MP stays, we remain in the league, Reed comes out and laments other factors (VVD, injuries whatever) and is widely lauded for not being trigger happy in this modern age of revolving door managers (probably in the telegraph)
  17. I don't think anybody is complaining about the result. I'm not bothered that we lost to a team who are 3rd in the table. What people are taking issue with is the gutless way in which we seemed to throw in the towel after going 2-0 down. There is a bizarre air of complacency around the club at the moment from management, players and even the media which seems to be fuelled by an arrogant belief that we are too good to go down. This leads to a lack of fight and a lack of urgency, and THAT is worrying me.

    Pellegrino OUT

Today was the perfect time to get rid. A new guy gets 2 weeks until our next league fixture with a relatively low pressure cup game in between to try stuff out. As that hasn't happened, I think we all need to accept it isn't going to.
  19. I'm flabbergasted at that second half. It looked like both teams were settling for the result. I mean what the **** were the players doing? It was pathetic. Utterly pathetic. Did they know the score? I couldn't believe what I was watching. We could have played til tomorrow evening and still not scored. No fight. No desire. No spark. No chances. No points. I could take losing this game, but that 2nd half was appalling.
  20. I agree that people need to get a life a bit, and it's definitely not going to change. Swearing is part of football songs and is also often hilarious. I do think however that certain fans who sit in the chapel end on occasion should be more aware of their surroundings. The fact is there is a family section for a reason, and some bald fat guy standing up shouting "YOU **** REDMOND YOURE ****", whilst potentially warranted, isn't really appropriate when surrounded by the 2nd Botley Cub group.

    Pellegrino OUT

Personally I don't think it's a good idea to sack him before Saturday. The turn around between games is too tight and the game too massive. We've got as much chance of getting a result with MP in charge as we would with a caretaker boss or a guy who has to pick a team without taking training. However let's assume we lose on Saturday (because that's likely) and he's fired on Sunday. What's the next step? Would people want a short term option to see us through to the end of the season? There aren't any 'firefighter' managers (Pulis, BFS) around. Or do we take a risk with another young coach with limited experience (Ie Silva)? Or do we look at an experienced hard nut like LVG or erm RK? Interested as to what you all think. I'm worried that it's all too late in the day and sacking Pellegrino will have very little effect.
  24. Guly, Chaplow, Sharp... even De Ridder! Good times. Let's hope it really clicks tonight and we grab a comfortable win. MP has made a big decision and (imo) taken a real risk with that line up, but let's be honest it's Brighton. Good club but we SHOULD be winning this.
  25. Rodriguez joined when we were promoted to the PL but I get your point. It's hardly a front four that strikes fear into defences
