What do you think? It seems unlikely that he's gonna play much between now and the end of the season, and Redknapp is hardly likely to be happy that he's not even making the 16 every week. I'm happy to have him in the squad, but I think the lad himself might owe to himself to think about heading back. I doubt he would have been signed had we known how the Punch situation was going to pan out.

Lambert is the obvious comparison to Sharp, but I think looking at him in relation to Richardson or Chaplow might be more accurate. Both of them were solid for us last year but neither were especially outstanding, and particularly with regards to Chaplow, I will admit to being sceptical of his potential contribution this season. However, with a first rate preseason under the belt and a run of games, both have become key players. I can see Sharp doing the same. I'm sure he'll contribute this season, but I also think he'll be a big player for us if we get promoted.
