Tin Jedvaj could be a good signing. 17 year old centre back playing for Dinamo Zagreb. He has already trained with the Croatian national team meaning that Lovren being here could help him favour us, not to mention our reputation with young players. I heard about him a few months ago but he's just cropped up again because Roma have failed in a £5m bid, and according to the Sun Arsenal are ready to pay £6m for him: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4977907/-Tin-Jedvaj-is-being-lined-up-for-a-6million-bid-by-Arsene-Wenger.html

"Saints considering Mauricio Pochettino" - Daily Mirror
CWD replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Was there really any point in dragging this thread up for that?! -
Not sold on Hooper really. Would be more interested in a striker in the mould of Roberto Soldado. Strong, good in the air and scores goals. He's like a more mobile Lambert and that's the sort of striker we should be looking at in my opinion.
-
Oh wait, the centre half must be Wayne Thomas?
-
Colleter, Monk, Wotton? Not sure about the first one...
-
Particular thanks to Danny Butterfield and Frazer Richardson. Instrumental in our rise up the leagues. Best of luck to all the guys though.
-
As unlikely as it would be to get all of those, that would be incredible summer.

I will never be one of those people who claims that Rickie will fail at a higher level, as these people have consistently been proved wrong over the last few seasons. However, Clyne is the player who should be in squad. What irritates me is that Hodgson was at the Saints Liverpool game, where Johnson was appalling and Clyne excellent, yet the squad announced a few weeks later was the same old faces again. What is the point of attending games if you aren't gonna pick players on form?
-
I just don't understand why neither Wenger nor Hodgson will play Theo up front. He just isn't a winger IMO.

Very nice.

I often think that. Our movement in midfield at the start of that season was superb, but just lacked a bit of pace. Had AOC stayed (even until January) I think we would have been even better.
-
I don't think it confirms anything. All the literature released at the end of last season had a silver badge, but our kit had nothing of the sort.

@CallumWDonnelly: Dear @adidasUK, please give us our stripes back. Regards, #saintsfc fans @adidasUK: @CallumWDonnelly Noted! Would they have replied to me if we weren't getting a striped shirt?
-
Both very good points.

I don't know much about him, but that seems an awful lot of money for someone only capped 4 times. It's actually probably closer to £15m as well...
-
4th place for me. It would mean we had been winning consistently over the season against top teams. That's not to say I don't value the FA cup; mid table and a cup win would be an outstanding season next year.
-
I think desperately disappointing is a bit of an exaggeration to be honest, but it is a bit of a shame that we petered out slightly after the three consecutive wins.
-
A lot of work to be done over the summer, our performances of late have been uninspiring really. After Stoke scored we suddenly showed a bit of urgency and a desire to shoot, but after we equalised it went back to being far too casual. Still, a good season overall and looking forward to an exciting summer!
-
We really lack imagination going forward at the moment. When was the last time we scored in the first half?
-
Good mock ups itchendan but there's no way the sponsor logo will look that good. It'll be a black on white background bit of plastic like the current one.
-
The fact it's being played out so publicly in my view is actually a positive thing. As someone said earlier, this is probably the first time something like this has been talked about by people within the club, usually big decisions are kept as hush hush as possible and we are left to feed on scraps of info from journalists on twitter. Now though, MP and Morgan have talked quite openly about it, and they would certainly have not done this without Cortese's say so. This makes me think that NC feels he can get the Leibherr's back on side fairly simply with a little bit of brinkmanship and threatening them slightly with the loss of players/management. I think Cortese knows what he's doing and this will be sorted sooner rather than later.

Liverpool's away and third kits are vile. As is the Man Utd away. And Chelsea seem to bring out a new shirt every year which is virtually identical to the previous one.
-
I'd keep the same team but with Guly in for Adam if he's fit. If not then Puncheon.
