Although I think its unlikely, I reckon Coppell would be the best choice. TBH he seemed pretty downbeat after leaving Reading so maybe he would enjoy some time away from the intense media spotlight? Tisdale would certainly be the more realistic choice, and I would be over the moon should it happen. That said I dont think Dowie would be a bad appointment. I wouldnt be jumping for joy but he does have the aggression and passion needed to get out of this league. Also I dont think Ince is way out of the question - we have to remember he moved to Blackburn from MK Dons, and failed. I dont think a return to league 1 to continue learning his trade would be completely unrealistic

In my opinion the definition of a great manager is one who is able to get average players to play above themselves. The likes of Marsden, Telfer, Fernandes etc. were never gonna be world beaters, but WGS filled them with the confidence and belief that they could beat anybody. He also got the best out of our top players, Beattie and Bridge in the England squad, Niemi arguably the best GK in the PL and Michael Svennson was superb. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i guess I'm just surprised as I thought everyone idolised the wee man as much as me!

Well I'm joining! Its a bit of fun, if it happens fantastic, if it doesnt then it doesnt matter does it? Also I cant understand how people can criticise his management style - in the last five seasons the bloke has proved himself to be one of the best. He got us into the Uefa Cup FFS! However I still think MLT is gonna be made manager - all that stuff Lynam wrote about not underestimating his abilities, sounds as though he is preparing us for Le God's surprise appointment so as to minimise negative reaction from fans.

I seriously reckon its a possibility. He's earned mllions at Celtic through having virtually guaranteed success every season. I think a return to a club where he is adored, a club that can only get better would appeal to him. He's the kinda guy that likes a challenge, and like shearer at Newcastle he can do no wrong in our eyes! Wasnt the reason he left partly down to the fact that Lowe refused to give him 10mil to turn us into a european contender? Well now he'll be (hopefully) surrounded by people who really care about SFC, and have the full backing of the board. This is all IMO of course. Is it true he still has a house/family in Warsash?

WGS back would be incredible, and I can see it happening with MLT in charge. I for one would also like to see Mike Osman back on before kick off - he was brilliant!

Will what happened to us happen to that lot down the road?

I wouldn't wish what we're going through on any team - even that lot. TBF a lot of my mates are Pompey fans and they have actually been pretty sympathetic, they want to play us and for that to happen we need to exist. That said I would be beaming if they got relegated... -
I'm actually well up for league 1, it'll be nice to (hopefully) be one of the better sides in a division! Having said that I wanna get out of that damn league asap! All this is assuming we exist of course...

Would be a brilliant appointment, i suppose it depends on his desire for a challenge though - there are loads of other PL or CCC clubs in far better positions than us that would snap him up immediately

lol yeah when put like that its not the best bit of negotiation in the world!
-
This is the reason wy we're in this position in the first place - everyone saying "Not my fault!" Wilde is doing it and so is Lowe, Crouch, LM.... why cant someone just take responsibility? Its pathetic and far beyond a joke
-
Oh great, something else that inspires me with false hope. One day I just won't believe the rumours and then I'll never be disappointed!
-
I totally agree, I think its totally not on how we keep being told we need to do more when a) we have done loads already, and b) of all the people involved in the club, us fans are the least responsible
-
Awesome if true, but i reckon it'll just be Fry telling us more nothing
-
What a brilliant article, its absolutely spot on. The FL gave us a deduction just because they were scared of the backlash of other clubs, and also that other clubs may do the same thing. As the article says - we broke none of the laws that theyve set, so how can we be punished? They just bottled it.

If there is one thing that will seel our fate its this sort of negativity. Keep the faith, things will all work out ;-)

Rasiak or James

Surman is a good player, and more to the point he bleeds read and white. What people seem to forget is that this lad is only 22 but plays with a maturity far beyond his years. I for one will be sad to see him go
-
Who will buy our youngsters? IMO only James and DMG have come out of the season with any credit, the rest have hardly set the world alight!

Saga doesn't want to play League 1 football and isn't playing tomorrow

Don't blame him. IMO he was sh1te unless he was scoring goals anyway. No natural skill
