Or, just on another note, was chatting to a mate about this desperately trying to think of good players it could be...and maybe David Healy??? getting on a little now (in footballing terms), will wants regular football, just a possibility!? We defo need a nother striker and pards knows this. why buy another centre-back when we got jaidi, fonte, thomas and perry who all cut it in this league. Think the money could be spent else where to score more goals...

Had a random thought this morning...Fabian Delph!? Hasn't done anything at all at Villa other than a couple appearances and playing in their reserves. Might not be a permanent one but on loan perhaps!? He did say 'a player not doing so well elsewhere' or something along those lines, and Delph fits perfect! And do say he wouldn't come to us because i think were proving just about any on in the CCC would sign for us right now. "the saints are going up, the saints are going up, iiii oooo away we go...."

just spoke to a friend whose a palace fans and knows a lot of palace players very well....says, and i quote "all my boys at palace know something is going on with him, he's defo gonna move but not sure if he's drop a division though. And yeah they are aware saints are a rich and wealthy club these days!" Maybe he'll think about a pay rise and the possibility to just be playing league 1 football for 3-4 months max?? I thought the northam were awful yesterday! I was sat in block 1 as near to the exeter faithful as you could get and they were 10 times louder than the northam! Poor effort!! Pretty sure we were louder in blocks 1,2,3 today. Really needed some vocal support from the northam support too cause exeter totally out sung us, even when they were 2-0 and 3-1 down!! Their fans nearly carried them to a 2-2 today, maybe more if that had happened!! Was embarrasing to be out sung by 2,000 odd supporters when there was 28,000 odd against them!! Poooooor effort saints fans, biggest attendence of the season so for and possibly the quietest game I've been too, minus to exeter fans. Full credit to exeter for singing up the whole game and keeping the great banter going. Glad a few of us in block one had a good laugh with them. Rant over!!

BORING HELL!!! Was one of the highlights of my night so i'm with Pards on this one. Was awesome to see it and Papa picking him up was awesome...specially then as the setward had to stop so he didn't take out Papa too!! haha. If you think a kid running onto the pitch was distracting Antonio then your maddddd!! You not see the other 15,000 odd people there with expectations that he was going to score?? thats what put him off...he's young and probably never taken a penalty in professional football, let alone in a cup sudden death competition!! Let the kid run on every week i say, didn't hear one person complaining about in the ground, in fact everyone was cheering it until Antonio missed his pen!!

yeah maybe a time to rest a couple players... give jaidi, lambert, connolly, lallana a rest but have them on the bench in case... ...possibly have papa waigo, Paterson, Thomas and mills given some game time. Wonder what kind of a croud we'd get to that one?? Should be careful though, remember when we played torquay at home??

Does anyone know if the ticket office will be open up till kick-off?? I cant get down there much before 4pm and was worried with it being a Sunday if the ticket office will even be open?? Any advice on this would be great. Thanks.

i can see Brighton nicking this one. I'm gonna put a pound on 1-0 Brighton unfortunatly! Sorry. Just i can see them scoring an early goal and then just sitting and holding out. Were not very good against teams who just sit so i'm predicting a 1-0 to Brighton! Just because its Poyet's first game in charge!

i have 2 bets on todays game. One with 2-0 saints and Lambert to score first (22-1) the other is Saints to win 3-0 (11-1) fingers crossed.

I've heard from a friend who knows a couple of un-named players (incase they get in trouble from this) that this season that the boys have massive pre-match nerves whilst playing at home because of the amount of pressure put on them from the fans. They have said they prefur to play away from home so far this season, and i think recently that shows from the results away from home. He said they are so nervous before the first goal is scored and that they can settle after that and play football. A massive psychological barrier which needs to be addressed (i can do it as i study sports psychology if your reading pards!! lol). After being told this before the Charlton game i did notice a little that it was a little sketchy before going 1-0 up. Because of this i'm going to predict a 2-1 win for saints with it 1-0 to brighton at HT! Brighton want to prove to Gus that they are worthy and they must be buzzin a bit that he's their new manager!! 2-1 saints win...but a scrappy one. I reckon a Lambert penalty will win it.

Anyone know how many tickets the club have sold? I'm expecting Charlton will bring a couple thousand supporters for this one perhaps? Should be a decent cround and a good atmosphere i feel. If we beat charlton then our hardest opponents are out the way for the southern section so thinking this is a make or break game to get to the final. I'm making the effort and getting the train down from Chichester for the game with a couple mates, was just wondering if anyone had heard a rough attendence estimate or not??

WERE THE RIIIGHT SIDE, WERE THE RIIIIGHT SIDE, WERE THE RIGHT SIDE OVER HERE!! Where I was sat (right side) we sung the whole game, even at 2-0 down, hence why I started the thread about the atmosphere. Can't speak for the rest of the stand as we were loud but was great support down there. Think the roof would have blown off if we'd got a 3rd!!

Just on the travel coach on the way back and I'm still shaking from the adrenaline from when we scored the second goal! The atmosphere was electric today, so loud and was so so happy to be a saint today, even at 2-0 down! When the second goal went in and our fans ran on the pitch it was like we'd won the F.A cup. Seeing the Orient fans heads in their hands and the chavs in the corner finally shutting up was the best part of the day. If only the couple more chances we'd had had fallen a little better and we might have snuck this game. The transformation of connolly and antonio coming on and changing from 4-3-2-1 to 4-4-2 saved the game for us. Once connolly is fully fit, if ever, we are going to walk this league. Orient didn't stand a chance after they came off the bench!!! Another winning streak coming on I feel... ..Rickie Lambert, Southampton's goal machine!!!!

Could be out of relegation...you mean will be!!? there is no way we win 4 on the trot in the league and then play orient and lose! they are an awful team and we are not even a league 1 team, bottom half of championship at least with the way were playing right now! Cannot wait for the day though, only 4 days to go and i've already finished all my uni work for the week...massive bonus!! Think i'll spend my time preparing my liver for saturday now. anyone know if there are toilets on the travel coaches!?? dont wanna get caught short on the way back!!
