Saints beat Sparta 3-0: Post-Match Ecstasy
JackanorySFC replied to Hamilton Saint's topic in The Saints
That's because the bin dippers have a weird love in. United sing about Leeds and you don't get bigger than them. Clearly you weren't at Fratton for the 4-1 game. Anyone that experienced "that" will NEVER tire of the 'who the **** is laughing now" song! Sorry but I hate those ****s and won't be happy until they no longer exist. I love singing about how ****ed up they are compared to us right now, living hand to mouth in their shabby stadium one safety certificate renewal away from being condemned, begging for money and lobbying the football league not to reduce the amount of games as that's their only sustainable source of income. Let's have it right as well, they absolutely detest us, if they see you on a train with a nipper they'll not hesitate to wade in to you upon being outed as a "scumma", they love numbers heavily weighted on their side. Football is all about rivalries, ours is as strong/ stronger than anything else in the UK except Rangers/ Celtic. It makes it special and I wouldn't swap that for some utterly pathetic half and half scarf "brothers in arms" display like the scousers seem to enjoy. -
The big lump with the cap and the black t-shirt with orange writing on it (one of the group of 4/ 5 doing that weird muscle flexing thing at us in the Itchen) was well involved, he suddenly went up about 10 rows and starting filling in one of their own (which started the stewards/ OB pilling in which made it look even worse), completely bizarre. His pals were funny as ****, especially the fella with the glasses on, one of the least intimidating spectacles I've ever seen! This mini mob went bat**** crazy when blocks 1-3 starting doing the classic "In Ger Land.." song at them, they clearly have a hard on for the English. Prague should be lively.

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)

Into the 2400's now. Just got mine. Little old Saints at the San Siro eh? Never thought I'd see the day! -
ADAM LALLANA: "I didn't want to be Southampton captain"
JackanorySFC replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
He was and is an absolute disgrace to Southampton FC. Will never be welcomed back. It absolutely astonishes me when I see people on here saying they'll forgive/ forget etc. This is a man that was supposed to be our Captain, leader and potential Le God legend status. Instead he weirdly turned his back on the City and club that made him in a unfathomably offensive way, declaring love for a manager he knew 5 minutes, begging for cash he didn't need, paying £350 for an ad in the local paper that ignored the staff and support he was given since he was 12 after going on strike from the club we all support. Look, I get it, Lovren's funny ain't he? Loony mercenary foreigner paid £60k a week getting smashed by a £200 a week tree surgeon. He left first opportunity, like Mane, Wanyama and others with zero affinity to Southampton. Lallana was 100x different. He could have stayed, yeah the Manager may have left but he as Captain, a lad at the club since 12 (that helped him with his heart condition) would lead us onwards. Nah, the dirty grass wanted money. Wouldn't listen to the club and pimped himself to Rodgers. His interviews since have been beyond insulting to us. I love the fact he's won **** all and has to live in a **** hole. Every time he plays us he completely melts, I mean absolutely loses it - he's clearly weak minded and easy to get to - I love that! SFC are not run by nasty people. The lack of acknowledgment to him when he left was calculated, he is/ was/ will always be a nasty little rat. Could have been a legend but instead the only Saints player in my 35 year life I genuinely loath. He insulted every money paying Saints fan and Sotonian. -
Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)
JackanorySFC replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
Got 4x Milan (Thurs early flight out, Fri evening home) with Alitalia for £150 each from LHR. Prague x4 (Weds early flight out, Fri 11am flight home) with BA for £127 each. Personally happy with that, I was out for the first (all important) 30 mins and literally watched the flights go up minute by minute on sky scanner after starting (cookies off, private mode etc). Accommodation super cheap and plentiful on AirBNB. -
Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)
JackanorySFC replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
Honestly couldn't give a ****. I bet supporters of those clubs have got some amazing memories/ stories around travelling to the ars£ end of Europe with their mates supporting the club they love. This is what being a football fan is all about, a (long) shot at glory and a chance to visit cities/ stadiums/ pubs/ Hospitals/ Police stations you'd never imagine existed all in the name of your City/ Football Club. It could be 20/ 30 years before it happens again (we more than most clubs should know that) so I fully intend to make the most of it. The Premier League and all the Sky led hyperbole around it can do one for a season, footballs about the glory and the memories, I want us to go for both this season. Up the Saints! -
Absolutely not. The way he left was a ****ing disgrace. Supposed to be our Captain and out leader but acted like a petulant child to engineer a move for more money the greedy ****. Looked after him since we were 12, helped him with a heart condition and he throws that in our face the minute he gets a chance to leave. I love the fact he's won nothing since he left, I also love watching him completely melt every time he plays us. He clearly has a very weak/ fragile mind and struggles in the face of abuse. His advert in the Echo was frankly pathetic. Southampton Football Club are not a 'nasty' club. Our silence when he left spoke volumes, he's a nasty, cowardly, greedy rat and I don't want him anywhere near Southampton Football Club again, we are bigger and better than that.

Your holiday costs the same as it did in 2013 (last time the exchange rate was as it is now). Who's fault was it then? Did you thank the tories for making your holidays cheaper in the years since? BTW I've just got back from 2 weeks in Pollensa, Mallorca, beautiful and cheap as **** out there for local food/ drink/ services. I'm loving the exchange rate, I export services to the US and my business's turnover has increased 15% just off the back of the currency fluctuation. I have used this windfall (appreciate that is all it is) to employ a University graduate full time (started 2 weeks ago) and invest in technology.

Our place was a large, detached, 1920's property in Botley different from every other house on the road. That's why (IMO) it was far better for me to explain it's history and uniqueness than an Estate Agent. Got 6/7 viewings booked within 48 hrs of being on Rightmove/ Zoopla then let the house take care of itself and answered questions honestly to prospective buyers. My take was any lies/ deceit/ exaggerations will come out in a thorough survey anyway. We are actually still friends with the family that bought off us. Literally don't know how Estate Agents can justify £4k-£6k for what we did, Tepilo did the floor plan, uploaded our pictures and helped with the valuation. The viewings come from Rightmove and Zoopla, not a tiny Estate Agents basic wordpress site. After that we used their 24hr support line (rarely) and their app (frequently). It was an absolute dream compared to our experience of buying through Agents. For specialist homes (£2m+) with large land areas etc yes, specialist estate agents can certainly help. But for 90% of UK sales I think they will not exist in their current format in 5 years time.
-
We sold our last place (at full asking price) using Tepilo in August last year. £640 in total (quotes from 3 local agents ranged from £4k - £6k). I think Estate Agents are a huge waste of money and frankly, along with convincing solicitors part of a racket. Hardly anybody pops into a local agent these days, people use Rightmove (mostly) and Zoopla (excellent valuation/ market tools). After being shown round numerous houses by agents we decided against them for various reasons including: - The absolute failure to turn up on time regularly - Giving me bull**** such as a house that backed onto a train line being in a great location as "it will never be built on" - Never knowing utility bills/ council tax bands/ broadband speeds - Not knowing the house's history (extensions, maintenance, neighbours etc) - Desperation to sell you into a chain that they "own" Tepilo have an amazing app allowing you to manage viewings, deal with offers, check out Rightmove, Zoopla analytics etc. Their conveyancing service via their online solicitor is brilliant (allows you to simply print, sign, scan and upload contracts/ docs etc rather than ****ing post them like most solicitors). All I did to show people around was invite them in, tell them where everything was and invite them to take as long as they needed and ask me any questions whilst I put the kettle on. The questions they asked were exactly the sort of questions a spotty, shiny suit wearing Estate Agent wouldn't be able to answer (neighbours, boiler install, broadband, bills, when extension was completed and by who etc). Whole process simple and feel in control of the entire process (unlike waiting on agents to return calls/ update on offers etc). Genuinely don't think Estate Agents are fit for purpose anymore unless selling substantial/ unique properties/ land.

Any New Season Ticket Holders Aroound You This Season ?
JackanorySFC replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Seems the back of Itchen block 2 is now sold out to ST holders. The young lads that were in front of us frequently sporting a fine array of "snap backs" that used to go flying (by accident of course;)) whenever we scored in front of us have left (probably went up a cost band/ off to Uni bless 'em). Will wait and see re the new comers, the usual "launch it"/ "GET. IT. FORWARD!" matey with red face and veins popping was going for it as usual. Also "wingspan" a few rows in front who loves giving it arms out to the away fans - mush must have longer levers than Michael Phelps! Block 3 still seems to have this weird mix of a handful of genuine ST holders that stand/ sing etc and people who are obviously on freebies (players mates etc). -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
JackanorySFC replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Very interesting, thought provoking read. France (specifically it's urban centres) are really losing their grip it seems. Open drug dealing, huge amounts of violent crime/ theft and a growing element of their population completely at odds with the original principles of Liberty/ La Republic. The kid's attitudes to Jewish people is completely shocking ("Jews = money as they were bankers in the Middle ages and get an inheritance"). -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
JackanorySFC replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
But they aren't are they? One group is thick, easily led clowns that can barely spell but apart from turning up in their, errr dozens(?) at demo's here and there are ultimately harmless. The other aims to kill women, kids, you, me or anyone that doesn't agree with their sick, medieval view of how the world should be. To compare them in any way whatsoever is the sort of self loathing, liberal bull**** that allows us to provide an environment where extremism is allowed to flourish. By the way I wonder what attitude those Kuwaiti lads would have to their wife/ sister/ girlfriend going to a club and drinking alcohol? The same people that apologise for these hypocrites are the ones that propose to support feminism and gay rights (neither of which groups do anywthing close enough to challenge/ condemn Muslim attitudes to women/ same sex relationships). -
Still hope that we will say no to this stupid idea. If any club has enough self awareness to show solidarity with lower league clubs it really should be us. Really don't think there is an argument we need it for youth player development anyway, our Academy produces players pretty well already thanks.

What I do falls under the services sector. I run a web analytics business that also creates content, manages email campaigns and links in different social media channels. Well aware I run the sort of business that if the Earth went into free fall and needed to start again my skills could be put on the back burner whilst the engineers, scientists and medical brains did their thing to get us back in business :-). However my partner and I still employ 7 people. 5 in the UK 2 in the US. Most of our clients are in the US so as stated above do 80+% of business in US$ (as well as approx 15% GB£ and 5% EU€). I can only speak for ourselves but changing our trading model based on currency fluctuations is a slippery slope. I see what's happening now as a short term windfall that will almost certainly not last, over 12 months we will obviously do well and potentially use that revenue to take on more headcount but over a 3-5 year period I expect it to level out. Fully appreciate manufacturing businesses that have to import parts are suffering, and prices of imported food/ goods/ services will go up leading to a potential rise in inflation. No one truly knows what will happen. I have a pretty positive attitude towards things so just getting our heads down and working hard will get us through in a good way whatever happens.
-
Disgusting idea that's a complete insult to the teams competing in it already and the first step to B teams in lower leagues. Hope we boycott as well.
-
Just scanned your response and had to bring you up on this point as it's completely incorrect. I sell a UK product to the US (primarily so , 80% of our marketed place anyway) have to keep a pretty close eye on FX markets. Before Brexit we were trading at approx $1.41/ $1.42 to the pound, haven't seen $1.60/ £1 for a couple of years! Anyway, I'm one of those that love a weak £ to the dollar. Helps my exports massively, turnover has rocketed in the last week :-) Anyway, as you were - less bull**** and made up facts though please gents.

Just back from a week in Lyon, St Etienne and Nice. Saints everywhere - Good to see so many travelling! Club & Country.
-
The De Vere is now a bang average 4* Hotel. No chance we'd put them up there. Limewood 100x nicer (with better meeting rooms/ suites), a *lot* more discreet and closer to Staplewood where everyone works from during the week.

Liverpool's first 5 games....(my heart bleeds)

What bull**** is the lying Dutch Judas going to come out with them? Will Say: *Huge Opportunity *Once in a career chance *Promises were broken on both sides *Did not plan to leave *For reasons I cannot go into *I want to thank the fans for their support during a difficult period *Chance to get my handicap down to single figures Won't Say: *Anything about his salary being trebled Genuinely interested to see what lies come out the side of his fat face. The biggest about turn I've ever known from a Manager, worse than Delph at Villa last year. Football's rotten.

Hey, I'm in NYC on business next week and staying for the weekend. I am taking a colleague to Smorgasbord on Saturday morning but after that plan on hitting the ale hard in the Bedford Avenue area, number one task is finding a decent boozer to watch the England Russia game in, preferably surrounded by English ex-pats. I managed to find a cracking place to watch the FA Cup final last season (full of Gooners and not many Villa but a decent bunch all in all) but can't for the life of me remember what it was called. It was near the Knitting factory I think. Yeah I know Williamsburg is a bit pretentious/ poncey but so I am I haha. Any suggestions appreciated. Up the Saints!

I sat in the middle block of the Kinngsland at the testimonial match, right on the halfway line. Normally I wouldn't give a **** about the PA system, simply not on my list of priorities tbh (my ST is in block 2 and my main priority is making sure we beat the queue at half time for a pint) but Jesus, it was seriously bad! Big £ to sit there too I imagine, couldn't make a word that Kelvin/ Matty/ Rickie/ Franny's fit daughter said. Pretty annoying actually as that's the main reason I went.

Every summer this "player swap deal" bull**** comes up. Honestly how many can you name that actually happened? Negotiating a deal for 1 player has a tonne of complications, an extra player/ agent/ family makes it near on impossible. Always reads well and Agent's love feeding the info to the media (who you can't blame for printing/ reporting it). It will not happen though, player swap deals simply hardly ever happen.
