  1. And I bet his players love him for it - as do uniteds players at Fergies breathtaking hypocrisy, and if course a certain "special one" too. But your right, these winners have no place in football, let's hound em out - we need more honest, salt of the earth types like big sam, pearcy and incey for young aspiring English managers to look up to - good honest Englishman!
  2. Awesome manager and an outstanding addition to the English game that should be applauded fir many things, namely diet a d nutrition, fitness, education if young players, standards off field and refusal to play "ale house 442 football" that so many stupid, ignorant "ingerland" fans demand from our national team that has held us back fir a generation or more. Let's be straight here - if Arsenal were to win anything (I don't include the carling cup as anything) it would be an outstanding achievement due to the awesome football they play and their lack of expenditure. The alternative is one if 2 things: clubs owned by foreign billionaires (ahem) buying their way to success with little regard to legacy or management, or doing a united/ Liverpool (or skates actually) and just pilling on more debt each season. Neither are the football I want my kids to grow up watching. I fully expect most if the clowns on here that hate wenger/ arsenal etc are also the sort of neanderfals that scream at their kids to "launch it", "row z", "get stuck in to em" etc, laugh when exceptional young players like Ramsey get their legs broken by thugs (sorry "proper English football players) like Shawcross and blame multiple trophy winning legend Capello for England not being World beaters which screaming at Wallcott to "track back and get stuck in you fairy, should have stayed at Saints and learned the hard way in league 1". I genuinely am embarrassed to be English sometimes....
  3. Love to have some proper Southampton lads playing for us in the derby matches - Drew, Vokes and Bridgy for a start - just think Bridgy's celebration in front of the skates when he scored against them for Chelsea, pure hatred - he's one of us, something modern derby matches miss.
  4. I was responding to a post where Thorpe said "this proves how thick newspaper buyers in this country are". Sorry if that was t clear. Also, if Dune did say that then I'm sorry but he's wrong, 2.5m ABC1's are a fact.
  5. Actually suffering from a severe hangover brought on by a night if grey goose and bolly paid for by bankers and Murdoch at ken roof gardens last night, oh well... I think the hacking of millys phone was disgusting, as for the soldiers - hey I'm not in the armed forces, maybe someone that is can confirm this or put me in my place - but I think news ints papers have done more to support/ promote the hard job and lack of funding that our forces put up with all over the world, than any other media group?
  6. So ABC1's are stupid people are they? Or is it the typical "liberal" view of "anyone that eats different food, reads a different newspaper, does a certain job, votes for a certain party that I do t like do so because theyre thick". I've noticed a large bitterness/ nastyness from "liberals" recently?
  7. Do you agree with homophobe thorpe that the news of the world is read by stupid people or do you reluctantly bow to the facts provided by the independent national readership survey's monthly demographic results?
  8. I bet your gutted every shop as of 1pm in west end/ hedge end has sold out of NOTW's but still has stacks of observers/ independents left! British public are boycotting the boycott, clearly a massive Market for a sun on Sunday - can't wait! Stay bitter fella
  9. Sorry but your factually incorrect there. The News of the World is read by 2.5m ABC1's, more than any other paper except the Mail on Sunday. It is read by more ABC1's than the times, independent, guardian and express combined. Before you make sweeping statements about people you know nothing about, that read a newspaper you clearly know nothing about, I suggest you do some research. Oh, and I also read the times, nothing wrong with 2 papers, times great for world news and opinion but nothing touches the sun/ NOTW for sport - maybe the game (times Monday football supp) but for championship/ L1 coverage no one touches sun/ notw. Not that you know as you clearly don't read them - poor you.
  10. Those gloating abiut the innocent and talented NOTW journos losing their jobs because they print the unemployed get free hiuses and £50k in benefits.... When did the NOTW ever say that or anything close to that? Your confusing the NOTW with the Mail/ Exp (who to be fair always source and interview the claims), but then you probably don't read it but still have an opinion on it eh? Personally I love the fact it will sell 4.5m copies today (4.1m more than the Observer today and 4m more than the guardian tomorrow).
  11. So have the current Labour shadow cabinet seeing as they were falling over themselves for a minutes of "face time" wth Rupert 3 weeks ago at his party. Far more Labour there than Tories, DESPERATE to get back in bed with NI they were, pathetic. Even Ed Balls and his horrible missus Yvette Cooper were there after the pasting they've taken. To be fair Coulsdon did the honourable thing and resigned, unlike a certain ex editor I will not/ dare not mention. Who's Ed's press secretary again - oh yeah, an ex NI employee.......
  12. Sun = 7.8m readers and makes huge profits, NOTW expecting an extra 500k copies to sell (1.2m+ readers) this weekend. Those that don't read the Sun, good on you well done, round of applause, your superior etc etc etc. Loads of talented journos, ad staff, marketing, casual workers and support staff losing their jobs - rejoice! No surrender!
  13. Fair enough on that front. I know this is going to be a problem though as parents will be reluctant to hand over passports. I wonder if we sack off the idea of ST's (as I suspect the club want us to) will I be forced to ask my brother for his kids passports when buying tickets on an ad hoc basis too?
  14. So when I buy tickets for my 11 year old nephew and his mates (world's #1 uncle, I know) will I have to round up their birth certificates or bring them along on person?
  15. No would love to go to one though, will make up my mind about my thoughts on it as a sport/ spectical after I've seen it. Ate carpachio of "Torro" (sp) in Costa Brava 2 years ago, lovely!
  16. I'm not saying I don't think you deserve it - my old dear worked incredibly hard as a teacher and now as a member of the baby boomer generation she is enjoying a well numerated pension, my girlfriend has gone into teaching with her eyes wide open, as a BSc and MSc she could have gone into more well paid fields but she chose teaching for quality of life, holidays etc. Unfortunately the country's broke - and you and your fellow strikers (75% of public sector workers at work at 12pm today - a great great deal lower than the Unions threatened/ wanted) willing to cripple our country's finances to keep perks which seemed sustainable pre 2008 but post 2008 simply aren't. It's a hard life, jeez I know that, but suck it up and take your medicine or get out. Unfortunately striking is never going to gain public sympathy, not in a country full of parents working longer hours and paying child care bills just to have a few extra £ in the bank or make up for the real terms loss in earning due to no pay rises for 3 years - whatever anecdotal evidence you have of Office workers leaning out of windows.... As for your homophobic slur, we both know what you meant and I was genuinely shocked it came from a teacher considering the esteem I hold members of your profession in. I hope a confused child doesn't come to you for advice about his/ her sexuality in the future.
  17. Err, a lot's kind of happened to our country's finances since then, probably a bit like the company you've worked for? Since then at my work we've had our pay rises cancelled, pension reduced and redundencies. Less money coming in (to a business or the treasury) means harsh decisions right?
  18. So you are talking about CEO's rather than front office traders that I associate with, admittedly on a very small scale? I can assure you any trader with JPMC, Tullet, BGC or Goldman Sachs (these are the banks that have or currently employ my mates) that doesn't make money gets sacked, certainly no bonus - they work marriage wrecking hours under extreme pressure so in my experience deserve every penny they get.
  19. 1- What is bizarre about stating the truth? Bankers that don’t make their client’s money get sacked. It’s also better to work in a burger joint than claim the dole, why would someone that makes those statements be “bizarre”? 2- I think anyone that thinks someone is “bizarre” because they want to work rather than claim benefits can reasonably be suspected to either be on benefits or working a very cushy job that will never see them facing that predicament? 3- Anyone that pulls someone up on spelling/ punctuation when themselves spelling the word bizarre as “biazarre” is on a hiding to nothing….
  20. What part of what I’ve said is bizarre? Do you honestly believe Traders/ Fund Managers and front office staff get a pat on the back and a “never mind” if they lose money? Nah, they get a donut for a bonus and the sack if they carry on. Or if my 2nd paragraph was “bizarre": Your obviously on benefits or enjoying the royalties that come from a cushy job if you think that wanting to work in a fast food joint rather than claiming the dole is “bizarre”?
  21. Is that an anti-gay march?
  22. If bankers don't make their clients and their banks they get sacked, not a pat on the back and a "never mind son, here's another £1m of our clients money to spunk". And as for big macs, if it was that or going on the rock n roll sponging off hard working tax payers I'd grab the burger flipper and get cracking, no worries.
  23. That's completely incorrect, read the op again and you will see I'm talking about teachers, not "the public sector as a whole", I also state my admiration for the amazing job they do more than once. Don't paraphrase me.
  24. Ha, I started the hate eh? When I (in hindsight underestimated the levels of hatred but hey) guessed at the reactions of the inward looking, never met a banker but blame every single one of them because they are all scum and do nothing for the country, types on here I was highlighting ignorance, I've never insulted anyone or called anyone anything. I havnt insulted anyone, someone on here who happens to be a teacher who may be educating your children has made homophobic remarks to me (thought that and racism was banned on here?), I've been told I've forgotten my roots and my mate that no one here has met has been called a c u n t despite him being a hard working father and husband. No hate from me, once again I'm from a labour family, mum a teacher from harefield dad a printer from the flower roads, missus is a teacher with a 2:1 in science and a masters that is a teacher yo make a difference, and I tell her what I say here - we as a country are skint and can't continue to pay for her benefits, as such I've taken it upon myself to work harder in the private sector to provide us with a stable future. If that is hate, Jesus, chin up fella!
