Lol, this is quality - I'm booking it under the details of a 8 year old girl, the (middle aged) rogues taking my place on the coach will flip and start attacking the stewards/ ob doing the whole "achtung" on Britannia rd with their concealed bottles of bells provided by my good self whilst I wander the streets of Pompey doing what I want! Actually slightly worried by potential cross fire victims as my ticket mules have nothing to lose and will be at the a### end of a 24 hr drug and alcohol enthused bender! Does not put me off at all though as I hate the skates almost as much as I love saints!

Anthropology is a decent degree - my missus did a similar degree, got a 1st then a Masters in recovery and identification of human remains but job market pretty much non existant so is now a Science Teacher (just started after finishing PGCE). She absolutely loves it and its one subject that schools are crying out for. Good pay, amazing benefits that gives genuine job satisfaction. On the other hand you could drop out, work your way up the slippery slope of corporate greed earning big £ but resenting the people you work for like me.

My mistake, confused your comment at the bottom of the article with the others that accused the Echo of being anti Saints.
-
But it's all completely true - which part is unaccurate? On one side you moan the Echo gets rumours off football websites then you back the club when they print factual, relevant information (good news story too) about training ground redevelopments without the clubs say so? I suppose you also think the back page article in today's Echo where they interview the England U17 manager and he sings the praises of our academy is another example of the Echo running negative stories about the club? Jeez, sometimes you just have to use common sense, put your hands up and say fair enough, 99% of the way SFC is run is great but they could do a tiny bit better in the PR stakes.

As always the Saintsweb and twitter muppets come out in force at the sligtest hint that SFC aren't 100% in the right... The same people on twitter saying "the media hate us", "no one writes about us", why are we 2nd on the Football league show ffs" etc etc stick up for the club when they refuse to return the calls of a journo at a national that wants to do a positive feature on the club!!!!! Personally I get my SFC fixes from a variety of locations, including here and twitter, but I love reading about us in the papers and online knowing fans of other clubs will be reading it too and noticing the great work being done here. That goes for when things are bad too, at work I've had plenty of Hammers, Spurs, Gooners etc sympathising with our plight under Lowe when people like Martin Samuel were destroying him.
-
Stand up if you want Lowe out v Ipswich - whole ground did it real statement. Going 1-0 down v shef utd, never seen so many stand up and encourage the lads after conceding a goal. Tahars attempted murder of dyer in a nothing last game of the season match and putting him out of the world cup.
-
Fair to say he's not "tee total" in the gambling stakes as I saw him leave ladbrooks in hedge end in a bit of a hurry during the week! Good analyst I'd say, and still banging in the goals (3 in 3 for gosport)!

Same tune as the old Bale song: "Steve, Steve, where ever you may be You drink stella in your own country It could be worse, you could be a skate Drinking on the streets with your peado mates" Quite apt considering the news yesterday: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/national/paedophile_ring_trial_five_guilty_1_3207586

Got a new found respect for Gareth Southgate watching that - he, Psyco and Tony "loon" Adams absolutely belting it out in a way no current England player could come close to! Have to admit the rugby boys put the football squad to shame in the anthem stakes - this one from this years 6 nations is fairly average but still every player booming it out - great to see Harry and Zara doing the same in the stands. God save the Queen!

I know, it's a real annoyance for those like me that go with their nephews/ kids and lead busy lives using the internet for almost all purchases but this facility was taken away by SFC before the Watford game. I now have to drive to St Marys or order over the phone usually in a massive queue.
-
Not in my or any other Saints fan I knew at the times case? Yeah, Spurs took Hoddle, richards etc which made the 2003 FA cup demolition even sweeter but no one ever lost sight if who our rivals were - the sheer hatred at that league cup game in nov 03 was testament to that - genuinely nasty.
-
actually it will work out massively in our favour as we are expected to be one of only 3 "cat 1" academies so we will get to Hoover up all the best players.... Doesn't make it right though!

Quality write up in today's Times (their journo was quite obviously at the game), I'll paste the whole thing as you have to pay to go on their website: Tom Dart Last updated October 19 2011 12:01AM Statistics on possession and chances confirmed the naked eye’s impression that the biggest npower Championship match so far this season had been a close contest. The critical difference between the teams was a surprising one: Southampton, newly promoted, were slick and accurate with the ball; West Ham United, freshly relegated, were far less precise and less sophisticated. Sam Allardyce’s side remain second on goal difference while Southampton’s win extended their lead to five points. The race for promotion is still in its early stages, but last night’s game felt like a significant test of their potential, one they passed not only because of the result but the calibre of their performance. Southampton are fuelled by formidable momentum and there seems no reason why they should not be this campaign’s Norwich City and return to the Barclays Premier League courtesy of a second successive promotion. They departed the top flight along with Norwich in 2004-05. “There’s a belief that the club is moving in the right direction and a lot of positivity and we’ve had a good start,” Nigel Adkins, the manager, said. “There’s 12 games gone and we’re top of the league. We’re there on merit because we’ve got good players who work very hard. “We play good football. We’ve beaten Birmingham here, Nottingham Forest, big names. You look at the league and there’s a lot of big teams in this division who’ve sampled the Premier League and want to get back and we’re one of them.” The sell-out crowd of 32,152 was — by a single person — St Mary’s Stadium’s record attendance. Why wouldn’t fans flock? Southampton have won all eight of their home matches this season and last night’s was their seventeenth successive home victory in all competitions. They have not failed to win on their own patch in the league since January and have scored in every fixture this term, thanks to an ambitious attacking approach and the goals of Rickie Lambert. This was West Ham’s first away defeat of the season. Just back from a calf injury, Matthew Taylor, the midfield player, was forced off by a problem with his other calf midway through the first half and his departure seemed to sidetrack the visiting side, who were unable to find any fluency. Carlton Cole was again absent with a knee injury but the little-and-large forward pairing of Sam Baldock and John Carew had combined well in West Ham’s 4-0 win over Blackpool on Saturday. Here, they were not as sharp and Baldock, the only member of the starting XI without Premier League experience, missed good opportunities in either half. “We were clinical on Saturday but woefully short of being clinical today,” Allardyce, the West Ham manager, said. “At least I can say we came out and showed something about what we are really like in the second half.” Allardyce’s side were spurred into action after conceding just before the interval. José Fonte narrowly failed to make contact with a corner, but, moments later, his centre-back partner, Jos Hooiveld, made no mistake by heading Daniel Fox’s accurate delivery beyond Manuel Almunia. Kelvin Davis, the Southampton goalkeeper, saved smartly from Kevin Nolan but Adkins’s side were menacing on the counter-attack. A perfect example came with 15 minutes left, as neat short passing sent the late-arriving Guly Do Prado through, but the winger’s shot was too close to Almunia, who made a good stop. Davis tipped a free kick from Mark Noble, a substitute, on to the roof of his net with four minutes to go, and Julien Faubert, the full back, hit a post. At the other end, Steve de Ridder, also off the bench, went within inches of chipping Almunia as a thrilling finish made up for the tepid start. The rapturous racket made by the home fans at the final whistle underscored the evening’s significance. Southampton not only added three points, they gained credibility. The club are big enough for the Premier League, and for the first time in a long while, it looks as if the team are worthy as well.

The problem with this country today is people have no innitiative and want things done for them on a plate. Not me pal.... I re-write the rulebook just for laughs. No surrender!

What if we were dressed up as St John's ambulence men and one of them OD'd?

I went in 03/04 (I think) without a ticket at all and managed to bundle my way in 15 minutes after ko and into a hail storm nd a defeat, was it worth it? Yes, absolutely as I hate P*mpey and I won't be missing a game there. This is my plan B. I'll probably arrange for the meth head (known as skelator in the pub) to pretend to be my mum/ auntie (despite being my age) and arrange for the ob to let us meet for her "medication" whereby she can hand me the tickets. Her and the other 4 will have no trouble at all in being refused entry/ ejection of the area due to their general demenaur and ponchant for attacking authority figures and spitting at people. Havn't got as far as worrying about what they will do during the game, only 1 likes football but is psycotic and still thinks its 1994 and Maddison and Tommy Widderington play for us (he suffered some form of traumatic experience then and refuses to believe time has moved on) and we should sign Gazza and get Liniker back from Japan! Me and my mates will give them an extra £10 each and let them fend for themselves. Will be amusing to see if they get back to the pub before we do after the game!
-
Yep, that's the plan. I got a heads up a while ago this was going to happen so for the past 2/3 weeks I've been plying 4 local old soaks (2 blokes, 2 exceptionally scabby old women - well I say old but one is early 30's but she looks about 90 due to a serious meth habit) from my local - the type that is in there all day desperate for a free pint of mild or whiskey so thought I'd introduce them to jagerbombs and they're putty in my hands! I still need to arrange a rondevouz point outside the ground but that won't be a problem. These people are the dregs of society so I genuinely believe Im doing them a favour by giving them a free coach trip/ day out/ holiday. Only concern is if the OB are on each coach, if so I GUARANTEE they will get arrested for any of a variety of offences so will certainly be a gamble - but one im willing to take for the sake of freedom of movement. Good luck to whoever is next to them on the coaches as they are complete wronguns...
-
Yes! Great news, seems my planning has paid off. Whilst all you losers will be on the coaches sat next to a group of alcoholic, one eyed, sweaty loons carrying my tickets for me and drinking buckvast and vodka neat sat in their own p*** soaked clothes they'd been wearing for a week solid whilst I wander around P*mpey doing what I want.... "We are Southampton, we get the train where we want"

If they disclose the full 40k pages and it emerges that the mickeys were in any way in the wrong no doubt there will be a campaign to smear the author of those docs. I'm keeping an open mind, no one should go to a football match and not come home and I've seen how badly football fans can be treated, however the mickeys do have a reputation for jibbing etc so I'll be interested to see what actually happened!

Good piece on AP in today's Mail, didn't know he had never gambled/ placed a bet in his life? Check it out, interesting read that makes an absolute mockery of 1 rumour on here that MA is paying off big gambling debts!
-
Interesting if this i the case? Only say that as they are based in digs and on rubbish money aren't they? If so I might head up to Hill Lane and start offering them £10 - £50 for their Pompey home tickets if things get a bit tight in April re' tickets. Anyway, must dash, the tradesman doing Friday "job n knock" are turning up to the boozer and distracting the all day every day degenerates that are my ticket mules for Skates away in December - another round of house vodka coming up....
-
Happy days. My email has changed due to leaving work - I'll DM it over.
-
Just bought 2 tickets, easy.
-
Very true mate - just realised I'm yet to get my West Ham tickets - on the case now. I'm sure I can find a nice quiet corner of the ground somehow ;-)
