  1. Last time I left early I missed Hornes equaliser against Bolton. Since then even 3-0 down I'll stay. However, I hate agreeing with the majority here BUT after the champagne football I've seen in the last 2/3 years I think the least I can do is clap the lads off. Jeez, 20 mins extra in traffic or showing the lads representing my City better than any group has in my memory my appreciation. No brainer, plenty of pubs to "kill the time" whilst traffic dies down. Up the saints!
  2. Glad to see the 50p rate of tax coming down. I agree that everyone should pay the same rate of income tax by %. It's not the wealthy's fault they are more intelligent/ harder working/ willing to take calculated gambles like starting their own business, I fundamentaly disagree that they pay more in every £ than you or I, it' not fair. I'm not a banker or a successful entrepreneur, I'm not intelligent enough or willing to work the life killing hours required to do so. However I don't think I'm any better than them so why should I pay less tax? It's completely unfair. Glad fags went up and booze stayed the same. Hate the cost of petrol but I'll just ride my bike more. The increase in non taxable earnins is great for those on lower incomes. The elderly have had it easy over their lives - benefitting from house price rises, jobs for life, great benefits (free bus passes, TV licences, winter fuel etc). Every government in my lifetime has sucked up to them, I'm glad the Tories are actually getting them to chip in with the rest of us.
  3. Saints, Reading, Leeds. Really really want to hate Warnock (but love his passion), actually do hate Bates so don't want them to go up but last 4/5 games they've looked superb. Reading have their tails up but West Ham can't do it when the pressures on.
  4. Remember being stood in front of a huge, steroid induced, Polish Meat Head who spent the entire game bare chested with a Saints Scarf held perminantly above his head booming out "Saganovskiiii" on his own every time he touched the ball. Thank Fook Rasiak wern't playin in that game... Only ever saw him at that game, guessing he robbed the ticket and never got another one. Not that I like to generalise like...
  5. Lol, if I were you I'd bet him a months wages that doesnt happen. 100% bull****. Typical skate, talks up a good game but when it comes to the crunch absolute bottle jobs. Been these type of rumours as long as I've supported Saints, Eng Macedonia game a good exams "200 skates coming up without tickets".... They didn't. The 100 odd that did have any bottle were absolutely mullered outside the Joiners. No chance they'll want a repeat of that! 2000 Pompey hitching lifts and hiding in train toilets to avoid the OB... I'd stop talking to this clown, he's clearly either a liar or gullible, either way not someone I'd want as a mate!
  6. Reading as a club use "rumble sticks" to generate atmosphere at the Madjeski. Enough said.
  7. Political violence/ disputes have taken far more lives than football violence, and spanning centuries not 15 years. One of the biggest pre arranged tear ups this country has ever seen was at Cable St when Mosley and his fascists were on their toes from the Commies.... Can't justify 2 years and loss of job for shaking a fence outside a football stadium when an MP can smash 3 members of the opposit party (and 1 of his own who tried to help) gets a slap on the wrist and his £65k a year job guaranteed. Disgusting.
  8. After drinking for the evening in a bar following a hotly contested derby at his home ground, staunch Saints supporter **** was by his own admission “hammered”, after some lively discussion and some rowdy singing he them became abusive by shouting “this pub is full of skates”, when the Pompey fans pulled him up he lashed out attacking 3 Pompey fans and even a fellow Saints fan that tried to intervene. A witness said: “He was very drunk, angrier than anyone I’ve seen”. The OB turned up and grabbed one’s notebook and wrote “this is a Pompey country, good OB unite and make things right”. Now what do you think this fan got? 6 year banning order and 4 year sentence? Seems about right in this day and age yeah? Nah, £3k fine, ban from pubs for 3 months and 12 months conditional discharge. Sorry, this is the bit where I admit I lied, it wasn’t a Saints (or any other football fan) but in fact a MP. Oh, an MP who’s kept his job as well. One rule for them, one for Football supporters and one for everyone else it seems? This country's a joke! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9133132/Hammered-Eric-Joyce-spared-jail-after-attacking-MPs.html
  9. Good to see we've got extra tickets. I'll be drinking in Greenwich before this one, LB way too packed and CX too central for me. Greenwich only a short bus ride to ground past Deptford on the Canada Water route. Hoping to be drinking outside the Gypsy Moth in the sunshiiiine.... Don't stray too far from SE10 though, bandit country...
  10. Sorted - Block 2. Easy to get through etc on the 012 number, loads of tickets available in all parts of the ground. Up the Saints!
  11. He and I must have missed the episode where they strapped AK's round their chests? I just saw a bunch of brain washed morons picketing soldiers funerals whilst getting spat at and stuff thrown at them?
  12. After visiting the British, German, Canadian and US WWII cemetaries in Normandy last summer watching that has genuinely sickened me. Had to turn it off after about 12 seconds. No doubt someone on here will try and defend it though.
  13. I worked for them for 9 years earning a massive wedge whilst doing it. After the NOTW shut I took voluntary redundo and took a huge lump out, mostly tax free. My old man (and many others from Southampton, about a third of the total NI printing staff were from Southampton between 1987 & 2007 give or take) broke the printers picket line in the 80's to take the massive wedge on offer from Murdoch. Huge Labour voter that hated the tories my old man but principles/ morals don't put food on the table/ pay for our holidays mush. I love NI, you should love me because I took so much money out of there! 3 posts and I'm out.
  14. I was just about to text a mate to say that he was coming across really well, until the bit where he was p***ed up in Luton Town centre. All downhill for him after that. Have to say I do agree with his priciples, multi cultural Britain does work, integration has worked, homophobia is archaic and someone's skin colour certainly doesn't matter - we are all British. The problem being those that down right refuse to adopt our culture and way of life and go out of their way to condemn us for living as we do when there's a perfectly good one way flight to Lahore or Saudi from Heathrow if they want the alternative. His main problem was his idea was over taken by complete morons, BNP/ NF etc. Nothing wrong with EDL, those that do any research will see that, however they just have some clowns that follow them thinking they are BNP lite and/ or a good opportunity to have a tear up with Asians.
  15. 3.26m wow! Hats off to Murdoch, the man knows what the public want and he gives it to them! Outstanding figures when you consider the Observer only sells 277k copies each week (the Guardian even less daily) according to the latest ABC's. No wonder despite the Leveson destraction News Copr's shares are so high! They even sold over 500k copies in the Greater Manchester/ Merseyside area too. Brilliant stuff! Looks like the scousers have finally got over themselves, although some fantastic build up coverage to the Cup Final probably helped. People love to bash Murdoch but he is clearly far more intelligent than people give him credit for. Great to see so many people picking up a newspaper on a Sunday again. Murdoch has directly and indirectly secured jobs for printers, delivery drivers, newsagents, ad sales and Journos. Great news for the economy! Even the paper boys will have extra work and more money to spend on cheap booze! (well that's what I spent my paper round money on anyway). I didn't but it by the way, looked at it on clipshare yesterday and was pretty underwhelmed (except for the football - amazing as ever) if I'm honest - personally I take the Sunday Times but I'm certainly not snobbish enough to look down on the Sun's readers - the beating heart of our country! Expect the circulation to go down to 2.9m next week - however that's still double the Sunday Mirror.
  16. I've lived 5 minutes from the Emarites for 2 years and work with 5 ST holders and a fair few that go when they can. Yeah they moan, but also appreciate the fact they simply can't compete with man u Chelsea or city on wages, the same 3+ Liverpool and most of Europe on transfer fees or Barca/ Real on gravitas. Arsenal are the only alrernative to financial doping in the Prem for the last decade, for this they should be applauded (they won't) and or rewarded (which with FFP they will). I don't care they don't win trophies, don't support em. But surely and true football fan can't help but enjoy watching them and applaud what they are trying to do surely?
  17. Whereas our fans wave cards at each other? How anyone can't respect what Wenger and Arsenal have tried to do over the last 10 years is beyond me. A team if cheap, young, technically gifted players assembled within a strict wage structure playing stunning football. Alternative is Citeh/ Chelsea/ skates route of Sugar daddies or United/ Liverpool route of massive debt. As a football fan first and foremost I know what route I prefer (and tbf Bayern Munich are similar with their set up). But then again I thought Capello was a top manager and Beckham was over rated.
  18. Theo has no footballing brain, has never done it in Europe (except against Barca, Inter, Byern etc) or on the international stage (except the biggest game England have had since Munich 01 where he got that hat trick) or the Prem (except today). Football morons, seriously it's embarrassing the lack of knowledge of people that right him off. I genuinely doubt any of them saw a "footie" match pre Euro 96. Wenger out Capello out Harry for England Wallcott's got no footballing brain Morons.
  19. I have a ST with my 10 year old nephew. Will he gave to through a separate kids turnstile? Saying that Reading had scanners and it was the same for adults and kids? Same as the Rosebowl.
  20. People leaving early is a far bigger problem in my opinion. I need a beer at half time to keep my day going, do a similar rota to someone else earlier mentioned where we take turns on 38/39 minutes to go and get a round in. The argument that the players realise this and stop playing is clearly b******s as I've missed loads of goals in the concourse over the last few years! Won't touch their skanky food though. Early leavers make me sick though, after a 4-0 win why can't you stay and applaud the lads off? Just as bad if we are 1-0 down, or 3-0 down. I've not left a game early since Barry Hornes goal v Bolton as a kid. Lesson Learned there! (actually I did crave early at Blackpool 3 years ago when 2-0 down in the p***ing rain and wind. Pompey had just beat united and I wasn't in the best if moods so went back into town only to see us pull it back to 2-2. Another lesson learned!
  21. When Lambert scored it was honestly the most bonkers I've ever gone in 29 years of supporting Saints! Bedlum around me - sheer release of hatred mixed with joy that I've never experienced like before or since. Good point regarding block 42. I won't buy a ticket until 1-3 are open though, nowhere else in the ground comes close to that for me on a derby day. My brother and I jibbed in there in 05 (I think), always room to squeeze in amongst friends! Post 3.
  22. Was open straight away last time (Cup Game) mate. Block 2, row JJ or above for me. Was amazing there last time. No women. No Kids. No shirts. Black hooded jackets only. In all seriousness I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, when your there you realise how insignificant the Northam is as they can't look into the whites of your eyes there. I'll do what I always do, panic I won't get a ticket so queue up from 6am, get an early ticket feel relieved then realised a load of others have got theirs 3 seats away from me 2 weeks after!
  23. Half your age + 7. If it's good enough for Hugh Heffner it's good enough for me....
  24. Definately not. The Sun & NOTW were massively competitive, Colin Myler and Dom Mohan actively got their journo's to fight for the best stories. Nothing was shared. NOTW journo's are gone and won't be back. That is a fact. Huge cost saving excersise ultimately. Only thing they had in common was the fact they outsold the competition in their respective areas (Dailys/ Sundays). Us Sun workers heard rumours ages ago regarding going to 7 day shifts etc, NOTW closing just sped this up. Sorry, I know this goes against what people think goes on at NI but hey, we all like to believe stereotypes don't we? Apologies for spelling errors and lack of maths accumen on previous post (can't edit' not a member on here) should have been 1% not 0.01%. Happy to admit the likes of me need sub editors/ spell check!
  25. It will sell 3m copies easily and be more profitable than any other UK paper. Great timing from Murdoch - staff moral at real low, now has reinvigerated work foce. News Corp shares have boomed this year dispite the Leftie's campaign against them. Murdoch bought back shares at reord lows and is now even richer and more powerful. The guy is clearly more intelligent than pretty much everyone else on the planet when it comes to guaging public opinion and making money - touché! Meanwhile the Guardian, Independent, Express, Star, Mirror et al will continue to leak readers whilst the current bun and the Mail hoover them up. I worked for the Sun/ NI for 9 years and believe me, they sell plenty of papers on Merseyside! Obviously lose a small amount (recent projections roughly 25k copies per day) as "protest" by scousers, but that's 0.01% of their 2.9m daily sales. Anyway, seeing as we are all Saints fans this can only be good news right? No paper out there touches the News of the World/ Sun for football match reports? Some joker on here tried to claim the Sun didn't cover Saints anyway before Cortese when up there and kissed the feet of Mike Dunn (Sun Sports Editor) desperate to get us back in NI's good books. I went back through the previous 12 weeks of Score pullout on Mondays and found 9 full pages and 3 1/2 pages. Not bad for a league 1 side! Happy to do it again for any clownthat thinks any national paper out there can match the Sun for Saints coverage!
