Just looked myself for a mate that wants a seat in block 2 next to us. When are the club going to f***ing put block 2 on the online ticketing system? From seats 15 - 40 you can't physically view them online. The site really is pretty poor considering the investment made in it. Have to say though, within 800 of a sell out is decent. Expect there to be only a couple of hundred left by kick off.

No never have. Jesus, remember the days of smoking in pubs, pretty much all my mates smoked back then and my locals (Dolphin in Botley & Fountain in Hedge End) were both dingy gaffs that left me stinking of smoke. Looking back now it's mental that it was allowed to go on for so long before it was banned! Lots of mates have quit since the ban came in and the ones that smoke have cut down due to not being @rsed to go outside every 10 minutes. First time I really noticed what smoking does to you was in our GCSE PE year 11 bleep test, I won for our year beating mates fitter than me (or so I thought) that had been smoking a combination of Embassy #1's, Benny Hedgehogs & Sov's for 3 years. Just say no kids...

Good article in Schneiderlin in todays 'Times'

Quite a walk from Angel tbh. Upper St is about a mile long and leads from Angel in the south to Highbury & Islington at the north. Loads of quality independent pubs/ bars there so if you are meeting someone in Angel you could do a lot worse than walk up Upper St stopping here and there until you reach the top which is a 10/15 walk to the ground. Personally I'll probably be in the Hope & Anchor, bit of a dive, decent juke box and off the beaten track so easy enough to get a pint.
-
Real shame that despite this game being played in by far the best part of London for pubs etc people are going like lemmings to Cov Gdn and the HITW (truly awful boozer). Check out Angel, walk up Upper St or Liverpool Road where there are dozens of brilliant boozers. Barnsbury also class (someone suggested the Albion, when the sun is shining London's best pub IMO - oh and it's on or near "Thornhill Road" to you feel at home). Finny Park not a bad shout either, personally prefer Upper st massively though.

The only thing that cheered me up a little was seeing a local United fan outed by one of ours walking out of the Itchen North, booted a few times and made to (literally) run home whilst clutching his bruised thigh. An onlooking woman protesting that "we are a family club, leave it" was rightly ignored.

Just bad research and complacency on their part. The reason I would far rather listen to the Football Ramble, Guardian Football weekly and The Game (Times) podcasts for my football fix these days. Sky, the Sun and Talksport are just dumbed down "celeb", backslapping, top 6, introverted, no football outside the Prem bull****. I would actually rather start seeing journos like Marcotti, Olly Kay, Henry Winter etc being pundits on Sky rather than some of the current, ex footballer morons.
-
What about past Ocean Village, over Itchen Bridge, through Peartree Park, down Athleston and over Northam Bridge, do a right past the river tramp and run along the new boardwalk thing there along the river to St Denys, up through Empress rd and the skag heads/ brasses, through the parks (dodging the rapists) and home. Certainly "interesting" and about 10k I reckon!

You need to get it back out the front of the Hare & Hounds. Looked quality when it was last there, then again most of Cheriton always does during a tournament, decent effort put in normally by those in Harefield!

I hope Blackpool don't let you down ;-)

Some inarticulate nutter called Colin from the PST on Talksport now...

Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game
JackanorySFC replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
Barnard's v Yeovil was amazing, at the time I thought that goal could put us in the pay offs! Dellhurst a great shout, remember some long haired loon running on the pitch from the stand opposite Arthur Whaite, hugging Le Tiss and staying on their for ages after we scored! Rasiak's was immense, only reason for not putting it down was my brain wiping all memories of that game after the walk back to my motor in the p155ing rain feeling utterly dejected! Griffo, saw a load of people and Stewards with the matey you took out for a while, I thought at the time he looked in a properly bad way! Also saw an old dear getting walked out looking completely bemused with it all. Think she would have been better off in the upper tier! Anyone on here miss the Horne equaliser against Bolton due to leaving early? I was about 10 or 11 & listening to the radio and got all stressed out after 2 mins of injury time and threw it against the wall, went downstairs in a huff and told my old man we had lost. Needless to say he was pretty annoyed the next day to wake up to us winning 2-1 after I'd sent him to bed with the hump at us losing 1-0! Only reason I can think of so many recent mental celebrations must be down to the fact we have actually been getting last minute winners away from home! Young lads now are so lucky, my generation (30 years old) cut our teeth getting hammerings everywhere and generally expecting us to lose. Still always a good day out though and wouldn't change it! -
Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game
JackanorySFC replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
Sorry got year wrong for Lambert's equaliser - was obviously 2010. The less said about the 2007 4-1 the better, without doubt the most dejected I've felt as a Saints fan (just beating the pen shoot out at Derby). -
Was discussing this with a few people on twitter yesterday. 3 - Davis v Citeh. The goal celebration that got me thinking about it, was worth the money, time and effort of the trip on it's own. I went loopy at 1-1 but when Davis got that equaliser the lower tier went berserk, my right arm is cut to shreds and some poor lad was properly trampled laying out beneath a load of seats for a good 5 mins after the goal. Well worth it, 2-1 up after playing brilliant football at the home of the champions. Not a lot better than that! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxEAn2p3l5U 2 - Lambert v skates 2007. I was in block 2 and can never remember a goal celebration like it at St Marys, the hatred released from that equaliser was like nothing I've felt before. That added to the fact there were 3 people for every 2 seats at the back of blocks 1-3 that day made it an "interesting" few minutes up there! "Lamberrrrrrttttt" 1 - Has to be Matty's last goal at the Dell v Arsenal. Pitch invasion etc Honourable mentions in games I admittedly wasn't at have to go to Fonte's winner vs Brighton Lambert's winner at Millwall last season Horne banana shot vs Bolton (listened to it on the radio as a kid, wish I was there...) With a "C note" on the outside....

Ha, that nutter from yesterday going on about his Reading Festival ticket is back again... Now adding he "didn't think it would get this far, only pledged cos trust kept going on about it". Must be one of ours...

My post refers to the saying "people from Manchester support Citeh". In fact (and 9000 is a superb total sample size, way more than I would have expected for a survey like this) that is incorrect, 56% of Mancunians support United. Are you saying people from Manchester supporting United are glory hunters? That's just weird? Why when people always say "Man U's fans come from Devon lol, everyone knows that real Manchester people support City" actually only 15% do. What can Mancunians do about the huge amount of support they have in the UK and overseas? Nothing, that wasn't my point. As for their away fans, I've met a few and they are proper Mancs, as (according to those I've met in the UK through spending a lot of time in Manchester for work, and at England games) are the vast majority of their away support (including a large number of London "ex pats"). How many United away fans have you met "from Devon" or anywhere not in Greater Manchester for that matter? Look, I've never liked United, years ago I'd go as far to say I hated them. But as I've grown up (as have mates I used to go to school with that supported United but are now Saints ST holders despite all the years of stick I gave them for being "glory hunters") I've developed a grudging respect for the best Manager the World has probably ever seen, some amazing local young players brought through to be the backbone of the best team of my generation with an emphasis on attacking, pass and move football, and their away support is (by a mile) the most vocal, passionate and largest in terms of numbers in England.
-
Also the same article put to bed the boring myth (ironically peddled by people that have never been or met anyone from Manchester) that "people from Manchester support Citeh... Only 15% of Mancunains support Citeh, 56% support United. Won't stop out "witty and down right hilarious" support singing "do you come from Manchester" at then when they play here in a few weeks. Bother to speak to a few of them before or after the match and you'll find out that yeah, they do.
-
Just read that begging artical on the News Website asking for fans to cough up the £1000. Some cracking comments on there, including one that says he wants his £100 back to buy a Reading Festival ticket (from a nutter that thought they'd get promoted to the prem and he'd be able to sell his share for a profit) lol! Another saying he'll pull his money if the players are getting the parachute money (which they are) and others implying the Trust are short of money. This is going to be interesting....
-
Looks like the Trust are in, their "Business Plan" had more holes in it than Westwood's sock collection. If they do get to take over the Club (I'm genuinely interested to see how many Skates stump up the extra £900 - I might use my 200+ posts over 3 years "character" on POL to announce I was only doing it to show support and only had the £2.50 spare, no way in this climate I can lose another £997.50 on a club that will be relegated) looks like it will be comedy. Straight to business then for the Trust: Last night their one and only League Cup game was watched by only 5k. How many games did their business plan expect from their "Cup runs" and what does the average for these games have to move up to factoring in the initial 5k?
-
Put £100 on it, just in time it seems, that or maybe my "high stakes wager" scared them off
-
Not expecting that tbf, decent effort seeing as it costs more up there. I'm in the lower tier personally - have to draw the line somewhere! Opening game of season at the Champions or not, to sell out & take 3k at those prices/ game on sky, Sunday PM etc would be actually pretty good.

Just got 11/10 on Skybet, buying money. Should pay for my weekend in Manchester!
