The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Verbal replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
Ducky is in all the obvious ways a huge balloon but he's right on this. Corbyn seems unable to distinguish between supporting Palestinians and sidling up to anti-Semites. The majority of British Jews have concluded that this is such a repeated pattern that it's fair to regard Corbyn as an anti-semite himself. Similarly 'Jeremy' is unable to see that his loud protestations about regime change, as chair of Stop Some Wars, require him to say something about the Russians' brutal threats against Ukrainians. But no, not a single word - his knee-jerk anti-Westernism blinds him to anything Russia might do, like invade a country or carry out biological-warfare attacks against his enemies in countries such as Britain. -

There are photos apparently of Johnson being successfully rounded up by the cake, along with a glass of wine that had tricked its way into his hand. -
I met Garth Crooks once. He's no better in real life.

Christ that sounds awful. His cockney accent was bad enough when he was drug-free.

Thanks for nothing

Redmond has five assists in the last eight home games. To hell with him, just swanning around laying on final killer passes

Try downloading Ghostery.

And yes, you're right. No offence to Charlie, but I generally find my own takes on games confirmed when CW takes the opposite view. I expected the loss yesterday after a really tough run of games with extra time and two sendings off all within the last couple of weeks. So not as down usual - not least because the lasting memory from that game will be a goal-of-the-season contender.

Forum posting is a simple game. Turkish furiously chases an argument over five pages, and at the end MLG always wins.

We could just enjoy watching him play - and hopefully score a hatful - while he's here.

Like your thinking Stevy! Trash one of the the best goalkeepers in the league right now and maybe we can pick him up for a song! (Obviously no one would really think Ramsdale is a 'shit goalkeeper')
-
Not the best choice of words, nta. Still, I imagine if the Newcastle players don't perform well in the next few games they'll be off to a training camp in Saudi. They'll first have to collect their visas from the embassy...

As a public service could you re-post your "Turnip's Guide to Correct Behaviour and Dress at Football Matches"? It's much needed by fans terminally enjoying themselves

You can never go wrong with hindsight

Saying "most normal people" think something benign about you is of course the very definition of the arrogance you deny. Well done Turnip!

Think again again. The DT's views are deeply embedded in the various 'awkward squad' factions in the parliamentary Tory party, including the tax cutters (led by Rees Mogg), the anti-lockdown Covid Research Group, and of course the usual suspects among Brexiters demanding still ever harder Brexit. With the Tories' parliamentary majority, the real threat to the government comes from the circular firing squad of the governing party's own leading lights (or dimbulbs). But that doesn't make these members any less a part of the government. The DT is the Tory party talking to itself. On the other hand, the DT until late last year published a weekly supplement in its main newspaper which was directly paid for by the Chinese government and which contained unalloyed Chinese Communist Party propaganda. Shocking but true - and an indication of how utterly cynical, and weird, are some of the billionaire owners of these media companies
-
Would that be the same BBC that's under constant attack from the Tories, including its most senior ministers? And the Daily Mail sets its own agenda which the government is too often keen not to cross. We do not have 'state controlled media' in this country and it's a bit childish to think we do. That doesn't mean anyone should get a free pass, because, for example, too many of the 'legacy' media companies are deeply divisive, cynical and manipulative. There's a correlation between countries we're Murdoch owns dominant media and the presence of right-wing populist politics. But 'state controlled'? Really no.
-
Which media organisation in the UK is 'state controlled'?

You're pure evil, MLG. You know perfectly well that if Turkish watches this he'll self-immolate.

Everyone knows what you're thinking sunshine. You've splurged it out all on here, in nearly 40,000 posts
