  1. Well this is quite something... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Future of Football 🔮<br><br>What&#39;re you changing? 🤔⬇️ <a href="https://t.co/vOvqdXrnUF">pic.twitter.com/vOvqdXrnUF</a></p>&mdash; Matchday365 (@Matchday365) <a href="https://twitter.com/Matchday365/status/1568330287142301696?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 9, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  2. Anyone checked out AMN's penalty-taking? Quite something.
  3. Wasp?
  4. Someone on this thread - I can't remember who - was bemoaning the fact that we'd missed out on a chance to sign Dele Alli, now that he's on his way to the Prem players' knacker's yard that is the Turkish league. There's an excellent article in the Times today (behind a paywall sadly) that shows the size of the bullet we dodged. It traces his decline all the way back to 2017, when Pochettino expressed his concerns about 'motivation' and attitude. Dele's since been managed by Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Conte and Lampard, none of whom have been able to retrieve the player he once was, and his decline never stopped in all that time, right through his peak years. Frightening.
  5. I don't doubt how strongly you believe what you say. Nonetheless, after failing to lock down a midfield position at Arsenal, and not wanting to play at full back, he was loaned out to West Brom, which literally no one thought went well. His loan at Roma last season passed equally uneventfully. A move to Nottm Forest went south because Neco Williams was the preferred choice. I'd love AMN to come here and prove his Arsenal critics (of which there are many) wrong, but I'm not optimistic. https://www.justarsenal.com/maitland-niles-may-regret-refusing-to-play-as-a-defender-at-arsenal/300411
  6. And then was dropped because he didn't.
  7. AMN may theoretically cover many positions but he's fallen out with his manager partly because he allegedly doesn't want to play anywhere except centre-mid.
  8. Absolutely delightful
  9. Heavens this place is quiet.
  10. It kind of is.

    Che Adams

I know. The 'down' is redundant.
  12. The climate crisis is worse than I thought. The wrist-slitting season has come much earlier this year.
  13. Our away form had better be good...
  14. Did you just wander in from a game of dodgeball? (To be fair, though, they also had some iffy kits.)
  15. Siri, find me a forum thread that comes closest to 'Say Yes to the Dress'.
  16. Well done on keeping a sense of perspective.
  17. If evidence were needeed that conspiracy theorists like Le Tisser drag everyone down, this has to be one of the dumbest threads ever on here
  18. Why did Salisu get pushed to the ground quite roughly in the celebration?
  19. Nor can anyone else
  20. Interestingly, among the things they can no longer do is sell or buy players. Implications for Broja?
  21. True, but there are serious implications for some people, especially the trustees of the Chelsea Foundation. The terms of their registration with the Charity Commission would not have included running a premier league club - least of all one that owes a billion and a half or more to the owner. Charity trustees have personal liability - they are not protected by the limited liability you get in private or public limited companies. A Chelsea trustee with any sense should resign now
  22. Yep. Bookies love to hear punters saying 'the bookies got it wrong' - that's how they make their money

    Russia

You know we're in for a difficult war when, as Russia sends it's entire military arsenal to the Ukraine border, the main armed-forces story in Johnson's Britain is that a senior RAF commander has been caught running starkers around his garden and mooning the neighbours.
  24. Matchmonth?
  25. I knew this would end in tears
