  1. And mostly in the opposition's net.
  2. And Leicester will only have one shot on target but win 3-2.
  3. What to make of Russell Martin's start to the season? Saints podcast discussion summarised here
  4. Looks a bit like we're playing the team with subs from the start, then bringing on the first team in the second half.
  5. Yep, it's gone the same way as the other one.
  6. According to my Arsenal-obsessed son, no one vaguely credible on their various forums thinks this. We'll see...
  7. Any good?
  8. The idea might be to do what Fulham (and others) did a couple of seasons ago - let a talented player out on loan in the hope/expectation that we're in the Prem next season and he'll be back.
  9. Can still see KWP slipping away, so expect Charles in the back four with Holgate at RB (?) If Adams is still here he'd surely lead the line, and AA to play at 8. But then again who knows...?
  10. You're going to look pretty silly when we sell everything and groundshare with AFC Totton.
  11. Did you hear this from the horse's mouth or did you pop round and get it from the other end?
  12. If this were an accurate reflection on how they actually think about their ownership of the club they're fucking idiots. I don't believe that SR are idiots.

    Che Adams

You mean he's toast? Or he couldn't give a toffee? I'm confused by new expressions.

    Che Adams

He had Harvey Elliott teeing them up at Blackburn, which would have helped...
  16. Finally, a properly worded question. He's injured (?)
  17. Here: "We would be furious if we never got that?"
  18. Godammit, has AA still not put his pronouns on his Insta?
  19. Good team, but not sure writing BAZ extra big is going to stop us conceding.
  20. [Edit: in reply to Turkish's "So it's no longer a game..."] Well you can, so long as you acknowledge that, historically, the women's team's achievement could be greater, because women's football in Britain had to recover from the sexual apartheid rules introduced by the FA in 1921, when it banned women's football on member grounds - a ban only lifted in 1970 (and recovery since 1970 has been painfully slow). So rather than 1966, 1921 is the relevant date - we're a little more than a century on from when the FA deemed football "quite unsuitable for females." Not that it was plain sailing for the men's game, where the maximum wage for players persisted until 1961 - just five years before the WC win - when it was £20 pw. So it's all quite nuanced - except to say that success on the international stage only really happened after (effective) professionalisation in both the men's and women's games.
  21. Paging @CB Fry "If they win on Sunday, they will become the first England football team to lift the major trophy since 1966." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66524191
  22. Not sure if this is football related or Saintsweb posters related.
  23. A finer encomium is hard to imagine
  24. How could you have a hipster index and not include 'La Pausa'? It's practically all they talk about in the home cafes round our way.
