  1. No i did not enter the stadium drunk and No i was not in possession of alcohol at any time. These are facts.
  2. Mate there is absolutely nothing more to this i can assure you. In fact the irony of it all is this is the first time i have not gone for a half time beer since the stadium opened. I have at least 7 witnesses to exactly what happened. Never ever been in this situation before. I wont lie i will be devastated if it goes badly. However i feel the punishment has already fitted the "crime". Some common sense required here .Fitzhugh Fella i think you have got it about right.
  3. Hours before this happened my friends and i were planning flights, accomadation etc for newcastle away. A trip that would cost each of us probably £2-300 to go and support the team. I walked out of the ground thinking to myself why do i bother. I dont blame the club, we all know who is responsible for the way we are viewed and treated at football. Couldnt bring myself to watch MOTD last night to see the goals i missed. Look,it is what it is and i will let you all know how it ends up. Thanks for the support though chaps.,
  4. Ok, i am well aware this is a public forum and i am well aware the club may read this thread, and that is the point. I am not trying to hide anything because i dont actually think i have done anything wrong. i am not some naughty schoolboy trying to have a crafty smoke behind the bike sheds. I had a sip from a flask that wasnt mine which could of been milk or methadone. i could of gone downstairs 20 yards and power drunk 5 pints of lager and that would have been fine. I did not try to hide anything. CCTV will prove that everything i have said is true. I missed our win yesterday which was upsetting, i dont want to miss any more football. Perhaps the club should have me shot.
  5. Ok im going to defend myself here. Does anybody know who to address my letter to.
  6. Thanks for the sympathy guys, im not going to pass comment on the stewards though i did tell them they could feel very proud of themselves. What i really want to know is how do i get my ticket back. Anyone else had one confiscated before.
  7. Nope, never searched me. Never asked what was in it. This is the odd thing you would think they would try to find it wouldnt you. I did not admit or deny having a sip but christ its hardly crime of the century is it.
  8. Ok guys something happened to me at yesterdays match and if there is anyone out there who might know what the outcome will be i would be gratefull. I am not dressing anything up and will explain what happened exactly as it was. I am a 45 year old lifelong fan. Season ticket holder of many years and have averaged 6-8 away games most years. At half time yesterday i was stood by my seat with my back to the pitch talking to some people in the row behind me. One of the guys produced a hip flask, i did not even know what was in it. .Several people had a sip and he offered it to me. I took 2 sips and gave it back to him. I never gave it a seconds thought,i did not try to hide it and wasnt even aware that i had done anything wrong. 5 minutes later 3 stewards appeared , singled me out and asked me to come with them. The second half was about to start and i genuinly had no idea why they had come for me. I was led downstairs to the cell area where the police informed me i had been seen drinking in the stadium. They took all my personal details and confiscated my season ticket. I was then ejected from the ground. I asked them what happens now and they said it is now in the hands of the club. I did not bring alcohol into the ground 100% fact. I was not abusive, did not swear, and co operated despite the fact i was seething inside. I was not drunk either. Does anybody out there have any experience of this. Will i get my ticket back. I am absolutely distraught at the moment. The thought of a ban is very upsetting. Ive seen people do a lot worse things at football and i cant think for the life of me why i was pulled and nobody else. The guy who had the flask was fine. If there are any stewards or people linked to the club reading this can you please tell me what my options are. Missing the second half yesyerday was bad enough but if i miss more football after spending £600 i will be livid. Advice please.
  9. Can i ask you what you paid for them and should i be getting them now rather than later.
  10. I was at spurs when this started and we were singing... Its not nice to be pompey its not nice to be poor You got whittingham We got pochettino "its not nice" Makes perfect sense to me as a song. " This is what its like" makes no sense at all. As for people moaning about songs anything is better than nothing. Noise creates atmosphere and people that try to create it should not be shot down for trying. I like it and will continue to sing it .
  11. The red kit is Gulys fault. Next season we will be playing in samba yellow.
  12. Quite the opposite,i think saintpats has hit the nail on the head. However calling NC a c**t and waving hankies in the air will in the long run not be very helpful.
  13. Who gives a f**k what cortese thinks. Lets just rise above it and 100% support the team to 3 more points. How can negativity possibly be positive for the team, and at the end of the day the team is everything. Im sure Adkins would like us to stay up. He will rise above it.
  14. Having invested a great deal of money and time the last 2.5 years watching us rise through the leagues i will be mighty p***ed off if the rest of the season goes downhill because some fans want to spend all game protesting. Its what sky and the rest of the media want you to do. I am as bewildered as everybody else about Adkins and he should still be our manager but he is gone and waving a snotty white rag in the air aint gonna help the team get 3 points. Players react to the atmosphere in the ground Negative = failure Positive = success A club without NC and the liebher family may well see us back at Dagenham and Redbridge in a few years. Be careful what you wish for.
  15. I would personally only re use skirting if it comes away from the wall easily and is in a decent condition. A lot of the time it will pull the plaster off the wall if its been stuck on.In older houses it will have been nailed on with cut nails and these will not come out without generally wrecking the skirting. Me personally i would always renew it. Skirting is not expensive generally £2 ish a metre depending on type. The other thing is that the new fresh painted finish on new wood will look a lot better than all the filled and rubbed down old paintwork from the re-used skirting. There is no doubt that it is the little things that give a premium finish. Skirting sat on the board looks way better than scotia. Try to use real wood roses and not plastic and most importantly read up on how to cut your door linings at the bottom so you can slide the boards underneath them. You must keep a 10mm expansion gap all the way around the floor, dont cut corners on that. I have seen some awful DIY laminate jobs in my time. Do it once and do it right.
  16. Its about £16.20 a square metre. you need fibreboard underlay about £2.30 a metre. But yes its trade only. If your gonna try and do it yourself you need to find someone with a trade account to get it for ya. Then door thresholds, radiator roses, new skirting or scotia. It does mount up.
  17. If you would like a reccomendation then for me the Howdens v groove is the best one I've ever fitted.must of done 1000m of the stuff over the last 6 years and never had a call back or problem.got it in my dining room and been down 5years now.my cats have never scratched it and they have tried. The only thing with it is there are only 5 colours but they are all very nice.
  18. I'm a chippy and I would go engineered over solid. It's still a solid wood finish but clicks together like laminate. Solid wood is normally glued and can move over time. For wear and tear though a good quality laminate is more hard wearing.would not put real wood in a bathroom. Laminate with aqua block in it's make up would be better. You got to weigh it up. Kids, cats, dogs, stilettos can all be damaging to different surfaces.
  19. For anyone who is interested i suffered badly with the things until i read that there is something in toothpaste called sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which in some people is the main reason you get them. I have since july been using a toothpaste called Squigle which is bloody expensive at £6 a tube but is free of this nasty chemical. Can honestly say it has made a massive difference , not one single ulcer since july. I am 44 yrs old and tried everything. Seems to me i was rubbing the very thing that caused them onto my gums twice a day, and no i dont own the company. Cheapest place to buy it is e bay if anyone wants to give it a try.
  20. Always remember a mate throwing up in his rucksack and leaving it by a bin at the services only for somebody to jump back on the bus with it saying who's lost their bag. Still 22years later the biggest away win I've ever been to.
  21. Did a foley trip to rochdale. Left Monday home wednesday and on the lash from 10am in blackpool all day tuesday till kick off. Think im just playing at it these days.
  22. Four of us using this. Train all the way for me normally but not an option this time. £5 each way is a no brainer really.
  23. Spurs 1 saints 3 fa cup 3rd round early nineties. Anyone drinking in the Nags head in covent garden will remember it well. Our fishy friends were at palace same day and brought us some tear gas. Lovin this thread, so many memories.
  24. Rumbelows cup 1st round. 25/9/1990 . Rochdale 0 Southampton 5 A tuesday night where i was one of a 150 or so that could say "I was there "
  25. A quick update. It would appear the block paving industry must be thriving. Since i started this thread i have contacted 5 businesses. 2 of them completely ignored the answerphone messages i left and i never heard back from them. I have had three prices from the others. £3600 £4300 £5600 you could say there is a bit of difference there. The cheapest one refused to give me a written quote so thats him out the game. So the winner for me is Mr Eddie Smith at Prestige Paving though he is busy until next year but that can only be a good thing , he was the middle quote.
