think thats not what hes saying - more a view on how it looks from outside of the small bubble that is southampton. Most talksport listeners werent there or dont read saintsweb and so if they listen to the interview likely will feel hes been hard done by. -
cheers - thats a good example but not the one ive got in my head! cant have been man u then! cheers though as sort of half right so brain mostly still in place!

i cant remember it exactly but i feel like he may have scored a couple of winners and also possibly a couple of winners against bigger clubs. Sometimes maybe 9 goals seem a lot more when they have a value to them. Also the mazy dribble and a scrappy winner against utd maybe? showed a couple of types of goal he could score. Not saying it was a good move but maybe there was a bit there to tempt them (also my memory could be rubbish!)

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal

Please lay off the posters, its mean and they need some encouragement. -
I was under the impression they were strong in that position and he played in a more advance right mid role. Gradually through the season though he pushed out the established CM pairing and played there. Deffo could be wrong though but remember seeing somehting along those lines somewher

interesting - assume perm move? shame if so that hes come to nowt here. Still hoped with our gaps at DCM that he could play a role
-
Does Ralph think he can get a good job out of Reed maybe - i think thats an option worth looking at as always liked what ive seen of him. Possibly a good chance to breakthrough for him this year
-
nothing says "were not signing anyone today" like announcing a new contract for a current player i reckon
-
i think his own quotes show he planned to be here for 2 years and get a bigger move. Assume its how we got him in the first place and the sort of agreement we've seen discussed before. He feels he deserves his big move after 2 years but sadly other clubs need to be on board too. The best result is for him to realise hes not done enough and use the extra time to improve his chances of a move and us get somethign out of him (a la Morgan) agree he has potential and would like him to stay and come good, not sure how likely it is!

interesting use of gamble - its not what id want from saints personally but i feel they know what theyre getting with him. Hes older and less games last year so perhaps fitness an issue but really not hada troubled career (if my memory serves me) so maybe not too likely. One good central defender can make a huge difference to a unit and perhaps thats what they feel - bit of general game back line organisation and training ground help maybe too. Like i said its not for me but dont think its quite a gamble when you see the money being spent on other players with really limited experience

good read that thank you - weirdly pleased by reading that - seems largely sensible. Obviously wont be perfect and not everyone can be happy but they appear to have considered some of its flaws and how to keep some sort of game flow which has to be appreciated
-
absolutely he had it beaten in to him - and arguably it worked - however if he had been well managed it could have worked an awful lot quicker! Prefer ralphs approach to the mourinho childish open calling out by a long shot and think it has more chance of reaping rewards. Whether it will have the full effect on Boufal only time will tell (and only if he's here)
-
genuine question - is he better than Van Dijk / Alderweirald when they came here. Do know its a different market etc and you have to move early on people now but just interested if hes a level above where those were?
-
ha cheers! thought about him when starting writing - did some work then i completely forgot about him. Option for a load for him i suppose but doesnt seem the modus operandi (sp?) for ralphs set up. with him there it certainly seems ott.

think it was just a paper excercise on Monday though with all in place at the original transfer time as generally reported. If we have 2 up front i guess we need 4 in the squad that can play there? Is 5 too many? Adams, Ings, Redmond, Long with gallagher and austin out. Personally think another striker (if really the right one) could fit in there with a risk of ings breaking down with injury and redmond being used in a different role that said its probably agent ******** with our priorities surely elsewhere on the pitch!

I dont like the principle of it i agree, feels a bit grubby but its Tricky though isnt it - Would it be ok to loan them out to someone else? Why not loan them to a club that you know will be good for their development? At some point you either have to have loans or not if you go down this road though i think. Maybe only loans for acadamy graduates to lower leagues would be a sensible rule?

Not everyones opinion though im afraid. Id much rather enjoy a tense test match cricket session that watch 100s of points scored in basketball. I think the idea is that this can still happen with VAR its just that when play stops they can check if it was legitimate or not. I agree it needs refining but i cant believe you were thrilled about the offside decision in the cup final because it was 1 min quicker than if VAR had been in play?
-
Haha that’s right! Man U changed their kit at half time because the fan base felt it wasn’t a pretty kit!
-
Interesting, that’s what I think it currently is! Think there’s a chance that it could even pens out myself. Will be nonsense for a while no doubt but a good thing in time and when applied properly
-
exactly this - have to treat him a a genuine mane replacement which means taking some time to find his feet. Hard for many to do this i know but thats very much what we've bought
-
Lingaard has done when when playing for england though so deserves to be there really i agree. I think they see delph, berkley and dier as part of the core squad (almost like central contracted cricketers) so its hard to break in to that group - JWP has a strong argument for being there but needs to continue his form in to next season really to push one out of their place
-
doesnt solve the unnatural position problem though - its the distinction between about 75% of handball shouts these days - the v deliberate ones are easy but the unnatual position is at the v heart of the deliberate or not debate - eg the star juimp defense technique is without doubt using your hands to an advantage - that said i dont believe you should have to have your hands down by your side as nowhere else on the pitch is that a thing other than in the box highlighting how silly it is - if anything running with your hands by your side is the unnatural position. Unless your saying only v obvious deliberate are pens and rest indirect?

How does rolling subs take place in practice eg with kids games? if both have to leave/come on at halfway line with 4th official present its not hard - you can guarantee they will be running to make the change quickly, play isnt stopped and substitutions in the last few minutes will have far less impact which all has to be better for the game really. Injuries you just do as normal and perhaps thats what would just end up happening - no more tactical subs just lots and lots of cramp when the ball is out of play in the last 5 mins.
